We called Ken after reading his excellent reviews. We needed to replace a fluorescent light fixture in our kitchen when the old one stopped working. Ken came out at the time we had set and provided a very reasonable estimate. I actually thought he made a mistake in his estimate because it was much lower than I had expected, based on estimates we had received from other electrical contractors for similar jobs in the past. So we scheduled him to come back a few days later and replace the fixture. He came back (on time again) and finished the job fairly quickly as he explained things in understandable terms. He made a few recommendations that we had never thought of, but he did not try to up sell us us like so many other contractors do. He even replaced an on-off switch with a dimmer switch and did not charge us for doing that. We just had to pay for the new replacement switch from Home Depot. I initially called Ken to get a quote for installing ceiling fans in my home. He recommended that he come by to take a look at the layout before providing the estimate, so we set up a time to meet. On the day that we met up, he called when he was close by and was on time. He took about an hour to walk through the home and helped address some additional needs that we were thinking about like adding recessed lights to a loft and providing lighting for a two story living room without having to drop a pole from the ceiling. He had some great ideas, his estimate was very fair, and we scheduled the work for a week later. When he arrived the following week, he was very respectful of our home, wearing booties on his shoes and putting drop cloths everywhere it was needed. In all he ended up installing two LED can lights in the loft, two j-boxes and ceiling fans, replacing a two-story recessed can light with an LED can light, and two sets of track lighting in the two story living room. I found Anthem Electric (Ken) on Yelp. I live in a town home and the panel is upstairs. When I called Ken he was ready to head out on his vacation but he said that he can work on it after he comes back. In the meanwhile, I have requested quote from two different vendors to install Level2 EV charger. One of the vendors said to change the panel, another one said he need to procure special circuit breaker. All of quotes were way above my budget. I reached out to Ken to get a 240V outlet installed in our laundry room. He was pretty packed with his schedule but we scheduled a time for him to come out and he was there right on time. He was very good about assessing what was needed and explaining what needed to happen, to me. I didn't get the work done that day, but had to reschedule for the actual installation, and he was very understanding about that. We scheduled for another day to complete the installation and he came over did the work really quickly. He recommended a friend of his to do the drywall repair and his friend came in right after him and patched up the walls quickly. His friend also did a great job. So within about 1 1/2 hour we had a new outlet and finally can get a REAL dryer for our condo. Anthem Electric charged us by the hour and the rate was very FAIR and the work was GREAT. Ken installed two chandeliers for us on 8/4/16, one for our dining room and one for our foyer. Both involved glass and one involved a 20 foot ceiling. Anthem is smaller company BUT Ken and his son had no problem installing our 50+ pound large glass chandelier on a 20 foot ceiling. They were meticulous in everything they did, from set up to finish. They made sure they protected areas where they were working and even cleaned up which was much appreciated. On top of the great work both Ken and his son are extremely pleasant. He even texted me this morning to make sure lighting was working as expected.
