Ten days later, I called for an update and was told the part hadn't even been ordered. Another ten days later, I was informed the part wasn't available, but they could try retrofitting a similar one. When I asked if there were other options, they said no--so I agreed. On the scheduled day, I took time off work, only to receive a call 30 minutes after they were supposed to arrive saying they could now order the correct part directly from the manufacturer--something they had previously claimed was impossible. To proceed, I had to pay in full immediately. Fast forward three months, and I still didn't have a working fireplace. For weeks, I was repeatedly told, "It should arrive next week." Finally, after expressing my frustration, I got a call at 5:00 PM saying they had located the part, expedited shipping, and could complete the repair the next day. I took another day off work. The technician arrived--but with the wrong part. Instead of tracking down the actual component, they gave him a universal one that didn't fit. They then assured me the correct part would arrive in two days. This time, my wife took the day off work. The technician showed up an hour and a half late (after I had called and reminded them we had rearranged our schedules for this), but they finally made the repair. Other issues worth noting: I was promised a callback from a manager or owner--still waiting on that. Their phone system is a mess. Every time I was placed on hold (which was often), someone else would pick up and begin a different conversation. I would explain who I was and they would say "oh, let me put you back on park." The three coldest months of winter without my primary heat source, multiple days off work, countless phone calls, and constant misinformation (what my generation would call lies). This would seem reasonable except in all the cases I had them come out in advance to survey the job (simple stuff like installing light fixtures) or send pictures and do pre-calls to ensure there wouldn't be any issues like that - and yet it still happened. Only logical place to go is scam or a level of incompetence, and either way I've felt like I lost some trust with this company and am out an extra few hundred dollars :(

They sent an inspector out to see the furnace which was fine but didn't notify me that someone was coming, but he thought I had been notified. But instead I was told it would be sent the following week. When it wasn't I called and was told it was in the mail. Another week passed and I called again, this time I was told that they had been busy and just mailed it that day. No apology for the delay or inconvenience, or the fact that what I was told the week before wasn't correct. Joe, who we tried to fire because he was messing up so bad needs to change his career (he actually got fired due to almost burning down a Temple), also not professional that we were even told about it by his lead. He then proceeded to use our personal material to fix where he messed up. Then Darren, the lead, may admit that he messed up in text, but as soon we got the bill, he sure was fast to say my mother was wrong. He also needs to learn some professionalism. First Street bid on the plumbing portion of our Master Bath remodel. They were 25% higher than the…read moreother bid we had, but we went with them because we had heard positive things about them, and they had been partnering with our general contractor. The two technicians which did the job, Cashe and Myles were very good. Unfortunately, there was some work that fell outside the original bid, and because of very poor communication, it became very unclear what was being billed. One of the technicians was not even made aware that most of the job fell within a single bid. We were therefore double billed on some items. Also, we visited the First Street office and were quoted prices on two items. We were later told that actual prices were about 40% higher than what we were quoted. In short, the technicians were very good, but communication and billing practices very poor. Until that is remedied, I would not recommend First Street Plumbing. Terry D
