I saw Dr. Ahn for my hand, he's a specialist recommended by my Ortho. I have a small tumor growing in my thumb. I thought it was a foreign object. He ordered an MRI to see it better and it was a tumor as suspected. I've had it for over a year. He gave me options to remove it and I chose not to at this time. He explained the pros and cons of the surgery and right now, it's tolerable and not growing exponentially so I opted out of surgery and will return if it gets bigger. I had been suffering from carpal tunnel in both hands and also head issues with my left elbow after an accident. I went to see Dr Ahn after having a very serious accident three months ago, in which I fractured both of my wrists.  My forearms were severely swollen and displaced. Dr. Ahn immediately put me at ease with his expertise and empathy. Without surgery, my arms would have remained deformed, with limitations on my range of motion. Dr Ahn operated on both my forearms about two months ago. I am currently in PT, and my mobility and dexterity increases every day.  For the first few weeks, I was in tremendous pain. My wrists were swollen and black and blue.  I worried that I wouldn't recover full use of my hands or be pain free. Dr Ahn was patient, supportive and reassuring the entire time.  He solicitiously addressed any concerns I had during the recovery, both over the phone and in person. This hand specialist said my hand was" too bad" for him to even try (no confidence in his own ability), insulted my ability to "take pain" and refused to try any cortisone injections or blood plasma, topical creams etc. Just ushered me out of the office and tried sending me to a pain management Dr to be on pain killers at 42 years old for the rest of my life. What a shame. I was crying outside his office in pain and feeling hopeless and he walked by laughing with his colleagues- stay away from this Dr. Don't waste your time. I've been seeing Dr. Ahn for the past 6 months or so due to lingering wrist problems due to a TFCC sprain. Its been a long and tough road, considering that I am a breakdancer so my wrist is pretty messed up. But, the doc has been helpful every step of the way so far. I think he is very articulate and pragmatic when it comes to recommending specific action items for treatment and recovery. Straight to the point without the fluff, which I really appreciate. I recommend him to dozens of my children's friends from football injuries to cheer and baseball injuries and he was the best but unfortunately things have changed. Not sure what is going on at BCHC but it's not the same place it was m. Dr Ahn is an hour late two times in a row for a 8:20 am appointment. How does one run so late so early in the morning? Then when he does not know the answer to a health issue he talks in circles, trying to hide the fact that he is In over his head, Either too arrogant to admit it or lacking the compassion to help the patient be referred to another physician who could help. He was so rude and short tempered with me the first time I saw him that I brought a friend the second time and she was floored at the aggressive man's condescending manner in which my concerns were dismissed. I left his office afraid and crying and will never go back. I actually really regret the friends I sent there and hope he has not treated them in the manner I was recently treated. Brought my daughter in with a broken bone in her wrist. Dr. Ahn was less than attentive. In fact, so inattentive that he twice referred to my (long-haired, feminine named) daughter as "he". It took a long time to get in for the second appointment to find out the results of the MRI and then I think we were dismissed without the proper "next step" instructions. Now I've put in 4 calls for clarification on the brace she is wearing. He called back once after my third call. I missed it by milliseconds, I called right back, but still couldn't reach him.
