I broke my finger almost two months ago, I was referred to this place by my primary care physician. I first saw Dr. Lorman, he was friendly but I only spent about 10 minutes with him. He suggested I see Dr. Ahn, the hand specialist. Unfortunately he wasn't available the day I went so I had to reschedule for another day. When I finally saw Dr. Ahn, he had two options for me: to have surgery or let it heal on its own. I opted for surgery, I didn't want to end up with a Frakenstein finger, I've seen it myself! The way Dr. Ahn sees his patients, they are all overlapping. I believe he's only in the office on Fridays and is in the hospital the other days so he's very busy. There have been times where I'm waiting over 30 mins from my appointment time, then 5-10 minutes a couple of times. It's been very inconsistent. My finger has been healing pretty well these past couple of months. I've been doing my occupational therapy at least twice a week. I don't regret my decision at all.

Back in 2014 I had my right hip replaced by Dr. Mikal Purne and everything went fantastic, unfortunately I needed my left done this year, May 4 2017 to be exact. This time in the newly built Torrance Memorial and like before everything went great. Dr. Purne is fantastic, I recommend him highly!

Long waits! Why do they even bother with an appointment... Every time I have been here you have to wait an hour before you are called in ..

At my consultation appointment her team X-Rayed my spine & Dr Rodgers reviewed them & my MRI prior to meeting her. She was very professional, knowledgeable and very friendly. She knew the source of my continuous pain & explained what needed correction & the risks in the procedure. The day of surgery, I was admitted 7:30 am and went home just after lunch pain free. Her recovery staff was very caring, thorough & attentive to my needs. Dr Rodgers was recommended by a friend who is a nurse. After my experience, I too highly recommend her & her staff to anyone with back problems.

Highly recommend!…read more After years of dealing with chronic lower back pain, trying everything from physical therapy to pain management with no lasting relief, I finally found the answer with Dr. Rogers and Dr. Satterfield. At 50 years old, I was hesitant and scared. I had heard so many negative things about spinal fusions, and being a high-risk patient with a history of blood clots only added to my fears. But from the moment I met with Dr. Rogers and Dr. Satterfield, I felt heard and understood. They took the time to explain everything clearly and compassionately. My X-rays and MRI made it undeniable--my spine had slipped to the point that surgery was the only option. It wasn't going to get better on its own, and I wasn't getting any younger. In early February, I had the surgery. From the very first time I got up afterward, I was pain free--something I hadn't experienced in years. Now, eight weeks later, I'm still pain free and healing well. I am beyond grateful that I chose to trust these incredible doctors. They gave me my life back, and now I have a future full of possibilities ahead of me. Thank you, Dr. Rogers and Dr. Satterfield, for your skill, your kindness, and for helping me reclaim a life without pain. Angela M.

Amazing Experience - Highly Recommend…read more I had my surgery at Beach City Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and I couldn't be happier with the care I received. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with respect and kindness. The staff made me feel comfortable right away, and everyone I encountered was professional, friendly, and very respectful. You can truly tell they care about their patients. My surgery on my right hand went smoothly and was a complete success. I've honestly never been to a medical facility where everyone was this sweet and welcoming. I highly recommend this office to anyone dealing with hand or leg injuries. Five stars isn't enough -- if I could give 100 stars, I would.

Our experience at Beach Cities Orthopedics with Dr. Christen Mellano was extremely disappointing…read more We arrived for a scheduled consultation and still waited close to an hour to be seen. What made this worse was watching other individuals who appeared to have a personal relationship with the doctor walk in without appointments and be taken ahead of us. It felt completely unprofessional and disrespectful of our time. When we were finally seen, the interaction did not improve. Dr. Mellano came across as defensive and combative when we asked reasonable questions about our daughter's condition. After reviewing MRIs and X-rays that were ordered through this same clinic, he ultimately said he didn't know what the problem was, suggested her pain (ongoing for over a year) would "eventually go away," and advised us to seek a specialist outside of his clinic. We left with no diagnosis, no treatment plan, and no confidence in the care provided. For a pediatric patient dealing with long-term pain, this level of dismissal and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. I would caution others to read reviews carefully and consider other providers.
