This place is a complete joke!!! I had an appointment with Dr. Nicholas Halikis for a follow up visit for an arthritic thumb. I checked 15 minutes prior to my scheduled time, then waited 40 minutes before being called into an exam room. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The nice technician apologized for the delay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I told her that it was a bit disrespectful that Halikis' patients were being made to wait so long. She stated he was made aware of long wait times. The technician took me into an exam room, asked a few questions, then stated that Dr. Halikis would be right with me. After waiting around for an additional 20 I walked out of the exam room and told the technicians that I was leaving as I had already waited an hour past my scheduled wait time. They all perked up and someone hurried to get Dr. Halikis. At that point I was well on my way out the door! Again I stated how disrespectful he was. During my first visit I waited 20 minutes before being called into an exam room. Obviously Dr. Halikis is scheduling more patients than he can see within an acceptable amount of time. I've never been treated so unprofessionally and disrespectfully by any other medical professional. Apparently, Dr. Halikis is only concerned about revenue in lieu of providing quality medical care. I'm very happy to his location opened near me. I have been a patient here, now for over a year involving three significant surgeries. My surgeon, Glenn Huber MD, is fantastic. He is very patient and has great bedside manner. That means a lot when one is full of anxiety and ready for the surgery to begin. This location can get crowded and at times have a bit of a wait times one to see the doctor. But I've never found the waits to be unreasonably long. All things considered I highly recommend this facility for orthopedic care. I'm also very pleased with their physical therapy department at the same location. The therapists are dedicated and keep excellent notes so that progress is consistent and documented. I know when I come in for therapy it's going to be a beneficial to my recovery. read more

Dr Huber did a great job with my mom's knee replacement. She needed to come back for injections on the non surgical knee. This place has gone down hill since Cedars has taken over. We were always waiting a good 45 minutes past the scheduled appointment time.... however today took the cake. We had a two o'clock appointment. Arrived at 1:50. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At three o'clock I asked what the issue was. Huber was delayed, they rudely replied.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You think that they would have had the courtesy of explaining. Care has been excellent.. I have seen two orthopedic doctors at this location. Appointments are on time, efficient and comprehensive. Drs Macgovern and Singh showed understanding of my medical issues and clearly explained my options. Only once did I have a bad experience. The medical assistant, who seemed to be training a new hire, barked her questions at me as if I was a dog who should immediately goose step my answers to her. I had poured heart and soul and hours into a previous 5-star review, which I've deleted. That review was premature. I agree with the other reviews that say Coastal Ortho is run more like a corporate HQ than a doctor's office. Two and a half months of physical therapy at Coastal Ortho, El Segundo and Torrance, had brought great hope and promise, which have been dashed, capped by an unfortunate text sent by mistake from the office. The lack of a standard and continuity of care has been jarring. I'm deeply disappointed in my former doctor, John Fleming, and physical therapist. I've also rarely met a doctor so unwilling or unable to answer basic questions outside of office visits, or billable time. I would have appreciated learning that my MRI results were normal sooner rather than later, in fact, two weeks later, at an office visit. My phone inquiries went ignored. Could the office visit be an option, rather than a requirement, for access to test results if normal? I previously overlooked the shortcomings of a therapy aide who nearly fell on top of me while focused on her own workout routine on a yoga ball as I lay on my back. Sometimes distracted, sometimes forgetful of the exercises that I needed to learn, she was the PT aide who assisted me most often. I tried to schedule appointments on Fridays to avoid her. Fridays were also calmer and more relaxing than the other hectic, boisterous three-ring circus days in the therapy gym, with little privacy to discuss medical details with the therapists. There were aides who had even greater difficulty establishing trust and clear communication. Exceptions were Bea, Adrienne, and Kacie. Patients are scheduled just 10 minutes apart or less, which results in extremely long wait times to see a doctor. I've seen patients arrive whose appointment times were 10 min before or after mine for the same doctor. I've waited 45 min to an hour for a 5-10 min visit. Staffing churn also led to a disruption in my treatment plan. I had to advocate for myself with the general manager more than once. I didn't want to write this...sigh...GM Carrie Killen did her best despite the limitations. Also, be prepared to pay for everything -- $15 for a copy of medical records, $20 for a CD of an MRI, etc. -- that other healthcare providers offer free of charge. The doctor treating me suggested that I take a picture of my MRI on his screen to avoid the fee. I declined since smartphones leak data like a sieve and are as private as Google's corporate intranet. Dr. Fleming likely missed a critical update that I flagged for his medical assistant at my final office visit. She typed her notes into my record and said that she would call the doctor's attention to it. He seemed to have been unaware of the update until contacted by the GM about it several weeks later following my email exchange with my physical therapist. He then abruptly reversed course, which upended my treatment plan, causing hardship and uncertainty. read more

I initially like this place. BUT, the office manager is rude, tactless, and authoritative. There was an issue with my mask not being completely over my nose at check out; to get my Dr's note, PT orders, and next appointment. I was the last patient and clearly not sick in any way. It's not a big deal to have my mask over my nose... but I will not be talk to like a child as a patient to an office. She demanded I do it that instance despite being behind plexiglass and double masked herself. I pointed out those facts. She told me to wait in the lobby to get my paperwork. 15 minutes go by and she finally gives me just the Dr's note for work. I asked about PT orders and appointment. Her reply was litterally why I will bnever return. "YOU CAN CALL FOR THE APPOINTMENT, IM NOT DOING IT." I said fine, just give me my PT order, because im done coming here. The Dr's note I was given had the wrong information and I had to return to get it fixed. I wrote a letter to the Dr explaining the situation at the end of December. I hand delivered it to the receptionist. To this day 2/24/22 I have not recieve any response, or attempt to book my follow up ordered bybthe Doctor. Shameful. read more

After countless interactions with office management, I was finally seen by the surgeon recommended by Torrance Memorial Medical Center ED physician. I suffered a degloving of my little finger on my right hand. Dr. Singh was very assuring and comforting with the assuring I would not require surgery and I will again have a normal finger configuration. My finger did heal, but not to the original length prior to the incident. Handling items is more difficult and caused much accommodation to allow for once normal activities. Still very sensitive, now more than 6 months later. Overall, after the debacle of an overdue bill, that was finally resolved, my treatment was appreciative; however, misleading considering the end result is not equal to what I was informed. The good news, I still have 10 when using both hands. Even though 1 is less than it should. Dr. Singh, office staff, even the office manager (that finally came through) are okay! read more

Dr. Fleming is a total bot. He spends the entire appointment with you looking at his computer screen instead of at you. He performs no physical exam. No palpation to establish physically what might be wrong. I'm not sure what he was doing in medical school or his residency training, but it would appear as if he had no clinical training at all. read more

I had cruciate ligament surgery with Doctor Daniel Stephenson who operated on me, he was very professional and with a lot of experience, he left my knee like new and in the recovery process I was assigned therapy with Dr. Michaela Soules, she was extraordinary, she has great hands magical, and her exercise methods helped me to make my recovery quick, every exercise she gave me I felt safe and they helped me not have pain and the assistants in the therapy area were very kind and professional, Kyla, Kacie and Marcos helped me To ensure that the exercises were correct, sometimes I had to undergo therapy with Dr. Kristina, who was very professional and also very experienced, and scheduling my therapies was very easy due to the help of Miss Smith. This review is for Dr. Kenneth Park and his assistant, Cristina, who were both provided exceptional care for my foot situation. I had bi-lateral Lapidus Fusion surgeries done in 2017 and had started noticing a growing bump on the big toe joint in my right foot, along with increasing pain. I went back to the original Cedars-Sinai surgeon, who took expensive x-rays, but abruptly dismissed the issue as arthritis and claimed there was nothing he could do, except fuse my toe. I am very physically active and could not accept decades of pain ahead of me, so I sought a second opinion from Dr. Park. He took a quick look at the x-rays and identified the problem - pain from an awkwardly placed screw and slight misalignment of the bones from the original surgery, which caused the bony protrusion. Dr. Park discussed in detail the pros and cons of corrective surgery and it's limitations - not once did he encourage surgery (in fact, he recommended I only do it as a last resort). Every time I called with questions, Cristina would forward them to Dr. Park, who always responded with a phone call within 24 hours. In the end, I decided to go through with it. After two weeks of being non-weight bearing on that foot, I had the stitches removed yesterday (painlessly, I may add!) and I could not be happier with the result. Within a few hours, I was walking, without a crutch with minimal pain, and looking forward to a quick recovery. Dr. Park is very kind and knowledgeable. He is easy to talk to and takes the time to listen. He truly considers what is best for the patients. Cristina, his assistant is smart, efficient and reliable. My mom's primary doctor gave a glowing recommendation to see Dr Stephenson. I called today and they informed me that while Dr Stephenson is listed as in-network for Aetna Medicare PPO plans, since Coastal Ortho is now affiliated with Cedars-Sinai they don't take Aetna. It's Open Enrollment time, so I asked them which plans they do take. They told me they can't tell me. Thanks for your excellent helpful customer service. You're basically saying you refuse to see my mom for any reason. read more

Visited Dr. Cha for achilles tendon issue. Initial visit went OK with Dr. saying to try orthotics and do some stretches. Ordered orthotics. Orthotics started to come apart within a couple weeks of receiving. I called office, but you cannot contact office directly ever, you go to an answering service that leaves a message. I had to leave several messages and took over a week to get a call back from Dr. Cha. Dr. Cha said I needed to call the manufacturer and to buy another pair for ~$300. I emailed the manufacturer as that was the only way they could be contacted and they responded that I had work with he Dr to make a claim. I gave up and figure out a way to fix them myself. My insurance covers one pair of orthotics a year. Dr. Cha had said that if I had wanted another pair to just call at any time and they will order a pair. I would not need another fitting/molding. The orthotics appeared to offer some relief. If I went to another office to order another pair, I would have to pay for another fitting visit. So I figured I would order from this office and then move on. I waited until the beginning of 2023 and called the office to order the second pair. It took 3 weeks before I could get a call back from the office. They told me my insurance did not cover it and that I would have to pay over $300 cash price for them. I called my insurance and they confirmed they would be covered and that they had NOT received a call from this office regarding my coverage. I went back and forth with the office for another couple weeks. Finally the assistant that supposively orders the orthotics said he would place the order. Three weeks go by and I receive no call back. So I called the office and they tell me that they will not order until I pay the the cash price as my insurance does not cover them. I check with my insurance and it turns out the office had submitted a claim and not ordered the orthotics yet. Now armed with an explanation of benefit from my insurance I contact them again. Weeks go bay and finally get a call from Dr Cha's surgery scheduler wanting to know what was going on. She finally researches the history and gets the orthotics ordered. After a couple weeks I call as they did not call me and found out the orthotics were in. I go to pick them up and they again are telling me I have to pay the cash price. I am armed though with the EOB from my insurance showing that they are in fact contracted with my insurance and the contracted amount is closer to $200. They finally agree that I should be paying the lower amount. I will not be setting foot in this place again. Side note, I did go to a different Dr. office and that Dr. diagnosed me on my first visit what my issue was. Dr. Cha did not diagnose the root cause of my achilles issue, just that I had one.. which was not very helpful. read more

Do NOT go there if you actually have an injury. Didn't have the best experience at this physician group and office. First off, all the front desk staff were rude and not helpful to get you seen or providing proper info needed for your care. I went in with Xrays from urgent care that shows a fracture in my tibia but in order plan course of treatment he needed to understand the depth and width of the fracture, the doctor stated I needed a CT scan. Ordered a CT scan with diagnosis of "right knee pain with possible fracture." You can clearly see the fracture on the Xray, so it isn't a possible fracture. So when insurance denied the CT scan (not even going into that right now), their reco was to go to the ER, like WTF!!! If the Xrays were sent along with the request for CT scan, maybe it would have been approved or it the diagnosis wasn't possible fracture it would have been approve. Overall worst experience of my life and the office doesn't care as they get enough business. read more

Love this doctor office. Always busy and little harder side on getting scheduled if your first timer but well worth it. X-ray and MRI in same building so no need of going back and fourth. Love their system of scheduling because I immediately get text from them for the scheduled date and time. Didn't have to go but rehab on the same floor so all the need in 1 building is much easier when you have foot problem... Had pain on foot 4+ years but one shot and pain subsided in about week or so. When Dr Park did my surgery he cut a tendon that he did not share with me or write in his operative report. He ignored my concerns in regard to my pain and new post surgery lack of function. I only found out about the tendon issue when I went to a new surgeon who had to redo my surgery and found the stitch for the tendon repair. The second surgery fixed most of the issues but could not correct the damage from the cut tendon. I now have permanent damage. read more

They are clean and professionally run. Reception staff is friendly and the check in and check out process is smooth and thorough. After hearing MANY MANY recommendations for Dr. Park, I made an appt. The office fit me in that day. They warned me that I may have to wait a while since he was booked that afternoon. I will be the first to admit it. I generally don't like doctors. As a group, I find them arrogant and aloof - especially the elite orthopaedic, foot and ankle specialists in the Los Angeles area (I think I have seen every one of them in hope of gaining some relief from a chronic ankle problem that has ailed me for over 15 years). Such is not the case with Dr. Park. He is a kind man, with a great bedside manner, and he exudes professionalism and confidence in his abilities. After carefully evaluating my ankle condition, Dr. Park recommend that we take a conservative treatment course, reserving surgery as a last resort. I agreed.
