I'm so disappointed, I used to LOVE this place and was a frequent, loyal customer. I received a gift card for Christmas and decided to finally use it and get a pedi/mani for vacation. I booked an appointment as I remember it's typically always busy. I went in the evening and surprisingly, not busy at all. I arrive at my scheduled time, get seated and my nail tech goes to fix someone's broken nail delaying my start time by 20 minutes. Okay, I'll let that go. She finishes my pedi and says okay, hang tight he will do your manicure. The only male in the establishment had just started someone else's nails. I wait about 25 minutes then decided to leave as I know it's going to be at least another half hour before they start mine and I have to pick up my kids. I go to check out and the receptionist asks me, "aren't you getting your set". I point out that he hasn't even started on the color of the client he has now. She turns around to look, then turns back at me and with an attitude says "it's just color, it won't take that long". One, no respect for people's time. Two, how about an apology or something other than giving a customer a snarky comment back. You shouldn't have to wait 45 minutes to an hour between a manicure and pedicure, especially with having an appointment. In addition, this receptionist was the same person I talked to on the phone and was rude as well, bad for business. Will never return. Go elsewhere! read more

I have never received worse service than I have at the location at Portage Trail. I went in on Wednesday of this week (May 21). I requested a full set of acrylic nails, with French tip and a signature pedicure for my anniversary weekend. My full set of acrylic nails, was rushed, uneven, bulky on the sides, in short, looks far worse than nails I have seen put on from Walmart. The pedicure also lasted only around a half an hour, and the technician seemed very frustrated. She skipped half of the steps, and my feet look just as bad as when I entered. Even the nail polish is sloppy and I still have calluses. I feel sick that I spent almost $200 on these services. I will never return, and simply want to warn anybody heading to this location, please save your money, time and peace of mind! Edit (because I cannot respond to the reply from Anthony Vince): I did NOT receive a phone call/email or any other type of communication on 5/23 nor after. I ended up going to a different salon to have my nails and toes redone. I would be happy to accept a refund or gift card to a different location to make up for this. service requested: regular manicure, royal pedicure. I've been coming here for the last couple of years and it's always been my go-to, which is why this experience was so upsetting. I came in at 5:00pm expecting a relaxing appointment. I got a royal pedicure and a regular manicure and decided to try something new instead of my usual gel. I chose regular black, matte polish...usually I do GEL black polish. However, I was not told until AFTER I had already paid and sat under the nail dryer for 20 minutes that this type of polish "normally doesn't set right." They said that they have you pay for "regular polish" first, instead of at the end like the gel....which seems inconsistent considering he did my pedicure using regular polish...then prepped my nails THEN asked for payment...THEN painted nails. I had the same tech for both services. Right after the other. But only the manicure was interrupted RIGHT before paint. I thought that was odd, but again, I've always come here and never even had to question anything. I paid, and gave the reception the techs tip. then went back to start paint. When I was placed under the nail dryer, the tech turned it on, said "thank you," and walked away without giving me any instructions--no explanation of how long I should sit there or that this polish would take longer to dry. Never came back, I was left sitting there confused, and after 20 minutes my nails were still completely not dry. I had to go find someone to ask what was going on and was told that this typically happens (i would've just stayed with my usual gel if i was told this) it doesn't dry well... they sprayed it with quick dry spray? And said they were fine, went under the dryer a bit longer and sent on my way. The moment I reached into my pocket for my keys, the polish got messed up....hadn't even made it to my car. When I went back in, I was told to sit down and wait until they could get to me, even though I had already been there for almost 2 hours and there were multiple other people ahead of me. The lady at the front desk was rude and very dismissive, talked over me, the tech (not the one who did the nails) said she'd redo them. i ended up basically having to plead that this cannot possibly be okay....The response (from the receptionist) felt very unprofessional. I would've just paid for the gel if it was going to be this much of an issue.... They eventually said they would redo them with gel, rudely said to sit and wait...At this point it was about 650pm with nails that are uneven, bumpy, and clearly not finished properly, I just left..... The lady was rude, there were customers waiting... there's no telling how this fix was going or when. I just made the decision to leave and figure it out after the commitment I was already late to. I paid $101 plus a $20 tip for a service that should have been communicated properly and done correctly. This entire situation could have been avoided with basic communication. I'm really disappointed because I've been a loyal customer, and they usually just do amazing work...this experience completely missed the mark. I'm rarely one to complain about something like nails...it's more about integrity and communication. I'm not a regular, nor do I regularly get my nails done, but I found my experience to be easy! I made an appointment for 6:00, had just a faint idea of what I wanted, and the very kind woman ran with it! I can honestly say that I have never been happier with how my nails looks! Very pretty. My only advice is to ask them to soak your prior acrylics off first. They were just ripped off with a sharp file. Other than the brief pain, that could be normal but I wouldn't know, I had a good experience. The price seems very fair too. read more

They are very expensive and the nail techs are just ok... aren't very design savvy and few understand English. The language barrier is a real issue for me and I know some will be offended by this but, if you live here and work here, please at least learn the language. I went in for a powder dip and left $75.00 later, totally frustrated. Their prices are outrageous. My first tech (I had two because the first one couldn't understand what I wanted and then, after viewing a picture, he said he couldn't make a snowflake. The second one struggled as well). You would think that a nail tech would know that his hands are under a microscope. I mean, how he takes care of his hands are and indication of how he will do your nails, I feel. My friend and I went yesterday 8.23.21 to get manicures and pedicures. I have been to this location (Portage Trail) many times before. The nail tech I had was a younger gentleman and she had one of the older gentleman who I have seen here before. They started us on pedicures after we picked out our polish. I chose a simple white for my toes and she wanted a light pink with French tip. Her tech had to redo her French tip on a couple nails about 4 times because he kept rushing and they rushed through the massage portion for both of us which is the best part. They also don't ask you which scent you would like anymore for your scrub, which they used to do. We get done with our pedicures and move to the nail table. The reason I am giving this 3 stars is that my tech did a great job and was very detailed in terms of trimming my cuticles and shaping/ filing my nails but I felt rushed. I wanted a very simple design for my nails and told the tech I wanted regular polish. I noticed he left and returned with gel despite me stating regular polish many times. He told me he couldn't do a design with regular polish (which isn't true because I have always had it done with regular polish). I agreed to do the gel polish and he started on the polish portion. He did my polish but struggled to put a few black lines on my one finger like my inspiration photo and another nail tech had to come over and finish the polish. I asked for a matte top coat which I was not aware was extra, nor should it be extra. I feel like they aren't up front about pricing and that I should have been informed prior to getting it so that at least I would know. Our pedicure was $40 and my gel manicure was $37, although my total came out to $93 after tax and that didn't include a tip. Which means it was almost an additional $20 for this very simple design and a matte top coat. I went to another salon about two weeks ago and paid $30 less for something similar and a much better service. Unfortunately I will most likely not be returning . . . Update 8/26/21 Since I can't write a response to the business's comment here is my response after my I trial review: As you can see this business has responded to my review. I do appreciate taking the time to respond to my review however, I have gone to many places for nail services and never been charged extra for matte topcoat. I can understand charging extra for designs however the design I received wasn't near what the inspiration photo was and was poorly done. As I also stated in my initial review my friend and I both asked for the $40 pedicure and I received the gel mani which from your menu was $37 bringing my total to $77 plus tax. My total ended up being $93 which is almost $20 more. Again I am not opposed to paying extra for things when I am made aware that they will be additional, however to pay almost $20 more for such a simple design and topcoat is ridiculous. I was a walk in appointment yesterday for the AV Spa Manicure with Gel with the hope I could return to Anthony Vince as my regular nail salon. Yesterday solidified my decision not to go back again. The old polish from my last manicure was not fully removed, my cuticles were not pushed back/groomed, the nail is bare in some places and a design i was offered doesn't look like anything and I wasn't informed about the changes in pricing, design. If I would have known I would have been charged for unidentifiable blobs on my nail I would have refused. I paid twice the advertised price for a subpar gel manicure that would have been a high qualtiy mani/pedi someplace else. I'm embarrased and dissappointed to have spent money going in there. Thankfully this time, I learned my lesson and will not be going back in there again read more

Leah is the absolute best! She did my wedding nails and I absolutely love them. Anthony Vince is definitely on the more expensive side for specialty nails. You'll be paying between $60-120 depending on if you add unique shape or chrome, etc. I really love my experiences here getting my nails done and would recommend! read more

I went in specifically at 12:34 in the afternoon, I then proceeded to wait 2 long continuous hours. I go back and sit down and the lady proceeds to pick my acrylic off with her nails and tells me that I have a fungus living under my nails. Mind you my one nail was lifted. I'll tell you what then she CUT MY 6 MONTHS of nail growth off with out even ASKING if I wanted them shorter. Shortly after she glued half the tips on and my nails are brittle from her ripping my old acrylic off. Then she proceeds to do the acrylic and makes them lumpy, THEN we paint my nails and she is rushing so fast and doesn't let the nails harden. She blames it on me and tells me that I messed them up. She files off all the wet polish and does them again. I sat there for an extra hour while she was throwing my hands around. I go to check out and she charges me for a soak off but she never did that and it was $150. I will definitely not be returning. read more

If I could give this salon less than one star I would. Upon looking at the aesthetic you would think it was an upper echelon experience, but it is extremely sub par from the poor customer service to the poor job they do on both nail and pedicure services. I visited this place twice, both times an extreme disappointment. The first time I got a dip and a gel pedi. I left the salon with the bottom of my feet feeling like sandpaper. Not even a week later my nails were literally splitting in half at the nail beds, something I've NEVER experienced getting a dip! I came back to the salon not even two weeks later to get my pedicure redone, as well as my nails so they wouldn't break any further and bleed. To my dismay, I receive yet ANOTHER DISAPPOINTING SERVICE, no accommodations or discounts on the current service. I let the manager know I was extremely unhappy with my sloppy and half done pedicure, as well as my gel manicure which left me with cuts on my fingers and lacerations on my cuticles. They refused to fix my nails and still expected a full $90 payment. When I expressed my frustrations and disappointments, THEY CALLED THE POLICE ON ME!! Just got back from my nail appointment, which as we know, is never really an appointment at these salons. I will never go to an Anthony Vince Salon again. This salon is overpriced and under-qualified, not to mention that there is a general lack of communication skills. I requested a dip powder manicure in black with small silver snowflakes. My manicurist had ragged, dirty nails himself ( sorry, but is disgusting that he held my hand in his with dirty nails...no gloves ).He didn't understand what I was saying and while I understand that these employees are foreign, I can't help wonder why they don't develop some basic English skills since most of their clients are American. This, of course will be an unpopular opinion, but this fact added to my frustration and the length of the "appointment " because I couldn't make my manicurist understand what I wanted. Three times I told him, short, oval/ round shape....black with small silver snowflakes. The base went well, but twice he had to change the silver. He wanted to do his own thing, because he didn't understand and I kept saying "no". Eventually, he found someone to "design". Honestly, my new girl was no better. She didn't know the difference between gold and silver and big and small. She knew no English, as well. End of the day, I was charged 75.70 and spent 1 hour and 37 minutes trying to get what I wanted. Lesson learned...never go to an Anthony Vince salon unless you have unlimited funds, time and you don't care about your manicurist's hygiene AND you have the patience of a Saint. read more

Clean, fast and friendly. Had a great experience here. They take appointments and walk-ins. So many chairs for pedicures and over 16 chairs for manicures. Staff was nice and very helpful with me and picking out a color. Explained everything to me and everyone's English is great. Huge bar, full of wine, liquor and teas and pop. I was visiting my family from out of town and my mom treated us to a girls day at Anthony Vince. My mom and sister have been coming here regularly so I figure it was a great nail salon. The place is new and clean, and they have a lot of staff members, but I would recommend making an appointment. We made an appointment for a spa mani/pedi, but other people were waiting who didn't. Once we were seated, they offered us a drink from the bar. I got a glass of champagne, but didn't realize it was extra because in North Carolina (where I'm from), wine and beer up to 2 glasses is always included. Ohio has to jump on that band wagon! They had a good selection of gel colors and we were told every gel color came with a matching polish. I got color 503. The "matching" polish on my toes was fairly brighter than the original color I picked out, but I like it since it was brighter. The pedicure was OK, but after I left I felt the bottom of my feet and they were super rough! Usually I leave and my feet are as soft as baby feet- not the case here. Now onto my manicure. My mom and sister both got a gel fill and their nails turned out beautiful (why I gave them a 3 vs 2), however I got a gel manicure on my natural nails (which I get every two weeks). As the manicurist painted my nails the polish was not sticking to my nail- it look like oil as it was repealing. After a couple of tries she finally got it to stick, however the polish was SO thick and bumpy (see pic). In addition, after my manicure I reviewed by nails and I had multiple bubbles within my polish. The most annoying thing about my visit was that the polish and gel did not match at all- not even close, but I was assured it was. I checked after my appointment and compared it to the color I originally picked and it was way off (see photo). I did like the color anyways so I kept it the way it was and didn't complain- but something to consider if you're getting a mani/pedi..... 4 days after my appointment and my nails are peeling on the side- I never have had issues with gel polish before as they always last me 2+ weeks. For the price I paid ($70), I would expect my nails to look awesome and they did not- If I was ever visiting again I would avoid going here unless you have a manicurist that you love. read more

I am disappointed in my recent trip here. I used to go here a lot before having kids but haven't had the time. I received a gift card and was excited to have some pampering and both a pedicure and full set after making an appt a week prior. The pedicure was efficient, however, was rushed. I think it lasted literally 10 minutes with hardly any soaking time, and the hot towel was tossed on me so quick it literally burnt my legs and after it was wrapped, the tech quickly walked away. I had to remove it, not very relaxing. This cost me $55. As for the full set, I had a very simple design picked out however it was constantly increasing in price for one color and a small nail design. The tech told me it had to be gel and each color was $15, which was an additional $30. I said no, I didn't want to be charged that and I would pick another color. Idk why we consistently get lied to about gel at every nail salon, but small dots on two fingers shouldn't cost me extra $15. I kept saying I didn't want gel on acrylics but honestly got sick of the back and forth. The tech then picked out a color that cost $25 extra (of course) which I honestly didn't care at that point bc I was so sick of this nickel and dime scheme. I would also like to mention that after putting my tips on, the tech walked away to do a wax for another customer and was gone 10-15 minutes. What I don't understand is that I made an appointment. I understand staffing is an issue but this is poor customer service at its finest. Another note: upon washing my hands to leave, I came back to the station to find a new customer having sat where I left my wallet, keys, phone and coat, only to be thrown over the bar. I didn't receive a thank you or a goodbye and quite frankly, don't want people touching my stuff. my total came out to over $120 and with tax was $130 something. Which is insane. The quality of service was terrible, rushed, and nothing like it's been in the past. My nails look OKAY, they are bumpy, but at this point, I don't care because I'm not going back. When you drop $100+, you expect a certain standard which is why the gift card was issued to this business specifically but clearly the quality changed over the years. Please note: Using a language barrier as a Way to overcharge and take advantage of customers is not cool (yet consistent here too) so please expect this upon your going here. I really hope this business pulls themselves out of this rut or there's going to be an empty store front on portage trail soon. read more

I just had a pedi/mani today (Tuesday at 2:30pm) with Pemika. They got me in after only a 15 minute wait. She did an amazing job taking her time, paying great attention to detail. I did not have an appointment. Maybe it's the day of the week and time of day but I didn't wait long. I read many other reviews and I'm not saying they are wrong. But in the middle of the weekday seems to be a good time to go, especially with no appointment. I am very happy and will definitely be back. Thank you Pemika!!! read more

First time here & I loved it. I had Minh and he was phenomenal! I came with my friends for a wedding party and I was low key nervous because of the shitty reviews but don't believe them. It's really gorgeous on the inside and everyone seemed super nice. I got a spa pedi and gel set and he was perfect, not a talker unless I ask questions which he had no issues answering but because I was with a group we were mostly talking to each other so it worked. If it was closer to my house I would make this place my forever home. So thank you guys so much for being so great! Highly recommend Minh! read more

Update time after almost a year of going here. Pros: 1: nails are always perfect shape by Shelly (and she works with me if I want a design with ploish or glitter gel) She is amazing (only reason I kept coming back) but feel horrible asking cause she has to hide it. I dont want to get her in trouble. Sad that I cant get a design without worring if it will get her in trouble with the manger. 2: shop is always clean 3: always easy to make appointment being they are always slow any day of the week. Cons: 1: the manger is always in a bad mood ( which puts others in a bad mood ) which then you are no longer relaxed during your appointment. 2: the owner is always getting under foot and puts others on edge (older asain guy that hovers over everyones backs. paces the walk ways) 3: Manger complaining about other customers to customers ( every time I go in, I am not paying to hear you complain, do it at home please ) 4: Manger telling me rhinestones, 3d art, designs and glitter acrylic are ghetto/trashy and they will not allow that if I want that to go to south Akron. 5: Manger yelling at a employee cause a gentleman came in the shop to get a pedicure and a male nail tech started his pedicure ( manger then explained to me that ONLY females workers are allowed to work on males cause it brings in more money. And that is her rules period. ) 6: Way Way over priced a fill with gel is 60+ every time. No designsd or rihnestones being manger wont allow them. Again Shelly is amazing, my nails where perfect every-time and she tried to work with my request as best as she could with what was allowed by manger. But I can not see paying this amount of money every 2 weeks on my nails when the management is out of control and making it miserable to be in there. And its only gel with no designs or rihnestones. Update after reply from them on yelp: I have sent many messages with no reply back. Explaining why I posted what I did. I even offered to show proof, still no reply. Problem is EVERY time I call (days ahead) to make an appointment I am told nope all our appointments are filled but you can do a walk in! WHAT! If appointments are full you probably cannot squeeze a walk in - and it has been everytime I have called which has now been 5 times. I am not sure how you are always booked unless you set a very small number of appointments and once you hit that quota that is it. If I could give this salon less stars I would! I paid a premium price and expected a premium result. I received a pink and white set of acrylic nails, and even during the process I had to continuously ask why my nails looked this way, why they were shaped wrong, etc. It only got worse from that point. The woman began to cut my cuticles and made my cuticles bleed in three separate areas, resulting in scabbing and an unsightly mess on my hands. After the top coat was applied there were bubbles in my nails! After only one week the nails began lifting off more than half the length. I had to remove them with one week of paying for them, which isn't something I've done before. In the attached picture you can see the uneven shaping and the botched cuticle cuts I received. The spa itself is very beautiful. That is where the positive remarks end. The staff was rude. The manicurist "cuticle shamed" me and mocked me for not getting frequent manicures. My manicure had jagged edges and the manicurist rolled his eyes when I asked (politely) if he could fix it. The other manicurist doing my friend's nails brought the wrong color and tried to tell her it was the one she picked even though the bottle and sample didn't match up. She was very snarky with my friend and at the end of the treatment asked her to let her look at her nails one more time. She then pulled out the cuticle trimmer and cut the edge back so far that my friend was bleeding. No apology. Overall, horrible experience. Will never go back here. read more

I have not been to this location since 2019 but thought I would try it out with my friend as its closer to their house. For 2 walk in pedis on a Friday morning, we were serviced very promptly so I appreciate that and give the 2 stars for that. It was overall okay, but not the most comfortable pedi experience I've had. I did end up with a cut on one of my toes, which has never happened before and I honestly didn't notice it until later. It's only been about 12 hours and I unfortunately have 4 nails (2 on each foot) already peeling. I've never experienced a pedi peeling that quickly, I usually get at LEAST 3-4 weeks before any start to peel. Although I noticed the tech wiping excess gel away, it was not as clean as I thought, obviously with 4 messed up nails... I only get pedis 3-4 times a year, but am very prompt with getting my acrylics done every few weeks with the same independent tech for many years so I'm not new to getting nail services. I don't care too much about getting my money back (especially since it's not sandal season quite yet so no one needs to see it), but I definitely will think twice about going to this location again. read more

I arrived at the salon at 720 pm Knowing that they were open until 8pm! I was told by the receptionist that they were Not taking anymore customers! A lady walked in about 2 minutes after me and they again told her the same thing! We both walked out and then she says they are open until 8pm and I raced to get over here! She turns around and walks Back in! She begs the receptionist to please let her get Her pedi! They asked if we were together, lady says no! I am standing right behind her at this point the receptionist tells her to sign in! I said so we both can get our service tonight? She says "no I'm sorry, we can only do one of u" ?????? Wtf?? I was there 1st! I am so disappointed in how I was treated and the fact they took the other customer and not myself! It should have been both of us or none of us!! read more

Got my nails done (dip) for my son's wedding. Never had my dipped nails crackle before. Two days after I had it done, there were cracks all through 2 of the nails. Wish I could post a pic of how bad these look! Think twice before booking an appointment here! read more

Me and my 2 friends went here to get our nails done. Upon our initial discussion with the blonde at the front she said it would only be a 30 minutes wait so we left our names signed and left for about 20 mins to get drinks. Upon our return to the salon she said there was 3 people in front of us but that we could pick our colors and wait. So we waited for 2 HOURS! And more and more people just kept going ahead of us. So we asked the blonde at the front why we haven't been taken back yet and she said well I only have 2 nail techs right now and so we went to smoke (not even 2 minutes) . We came back in there's 4 nail techs and more people that went in front of us. I do NOT recommend this salon. If you like being lied to go right ahead but this place is ignorant and do not respect their customers. read more

I was greeted quickly! Not a long wait at all. Just a basic pedi today, I am allergic to most lotions so no scrub for me today. I got a price break since I couldn't take advantage of the entire experience. Plus a glass of wine! LOVE THAT! Pinot Grigio- Annie was really kind. A bit hard to understand her accent but I would ask for her again! My last pedi was done by Johnny, he was just as good. In fact, a bit of a comic. The receptionist wasn't wearing a mask and was yelling on the phone at one of their employees who was calling off sick. One of the other techs was walking around without a mask as well, and they weren't following any social distancing guidelines - I was seated right next to another customer. My nail tech was very disorganized and had to keep leaving to find tools. My nails (full acrylic set) turned out too thick and the accent color tips are crooked. Do I have to give this place even one star? This is the worst nail salon my mom and I have ever been. THIS PLACE HAS THE RUDEST STAFF!! No one asked what I wanted, nor did they give me the time. The guy who walked up to me didn't even say hello, just "do you have a color?" Then he went so fast I had no clue what he was doing. The bill was $20, so I gave him a $6 tip (keeping in mind I was very unhappy) - he said, "that's it?" Wow. He admitted he has only been doing nails for a short time. He worked at Dairy Queen before this. I will not be going back. And it's not just because I don't like my nails, but this place needs to learn how to treat its customers - especially new ones! read more

I've been to this salon on a couple of different occasions. Pedicures are always pretty decent although I have had better. Last Saturday, my mother-in-law and I went to get shellac/gel manicures. The girl who did my nails was GREAT. I loved her. Well, Wednesday rolled around every gel on my right hand was peeling off. Already? It had only been a few days. So I called Saturday morning and asked if they would fix them. They said sure. I asked "free of charge?" The girl LAUGHED and said no. I talked her into fixing my nails for free (because I shouldn't have had to pay $40 for nails that don't last the amount of time they are supposed). Someone fixed my nails - but only fixed 7 of them, but I felt like EVERYONE was staring at me and talking about me. Not impressed with my nails, or the customer service. The girls at the front desk are always rude. I'll be going elsewhere from now on and will not longer be giving them my service. read more
