Luckily, I got Shelby (shoutout!) who was conveniently from the same small area I was and we had mutual friends. The time passed so quickly as we never ran out of things to talk about. I'm in love with my haircut and tips she'd given about some questions I had to improve the overall health of my hair. I'll absolutely be returning to this salon! Also -- it's absolutely beautiful! Shane started with a consultation, asking what I was looking for and his thoughts on what might fit my lifestyle best. After shampooing/conditioning my hair, making the cut, and styling it, my hair was nearly 6 inches shorter, now resting neatly at my shoulders. Even though I walked in unsure of what I wanted, Shane was able to make my hair look incredible in under an hour while making good conversation. Upon leaving, I received a "goody bag" of business cards, a pen, magnet, and even a 20% off coupon for my next visit! Although I like the 'pandemic roots' trend, I was more than ready to have my color done and Chelsea always does the best job! Many things changed at the salon and understandably so. First of all, they were able to use the lock down time to make some serious renovations and the salon is looking refreshed and airy! I love the new look, the stations are positioned differently and a much brighter color scheme makes it feel much bigger. Don't worry though, the owl leitmotif is still present ;) Many safety precautions are in place, so that we can all feel safe. The human density limits are strictly followed and everyone is required to wear a mask. I was always very confident in this Salon's sanitation practices, but now it is enforced to an even higher standard. They only work by appointment now, so get yours while you can! Beware that they cannot do any blowouts, so you can request a dry cut, otherwise you will need to leave with your hair wet. I was happy they didn't add any surcharge for extra sanitation, but since you don't get the blowout it feels more fair. Some advice: wear a disposable surgical mask when you have your color done, because the ear loops might get messy and might damage your fancy cloth mask. Do not bring any chunky handbags or food in, help keep everything clean. Make sure you know the new COVID-19 drill posted on their website and fill the waiver online. Other than that, relax and enjoy your hair being done! We waited so long for that! Yaaay!

Well I have went to Michaels and had a stylist straighten my hair two times with success. I was…read morevery happy. Well the girl I had for the straighteners was no longer at the salon. I had another more experienced stylist for the straightening. It was confusing from the get go. They were talking about not having the instructions for the product they were gonna use. Anyway I have never been in such an awful situation at any salon. The stylist insisted that she had the right product. I knew it was not what was used. To make a long story short. When the stylist went to dry my hair , I was turned around so I was unable to see the back. Here I spent 90.00 including tip to get home and after waiting 3 days I washed my hair and it has all the strong waves , it did not take at all. She had only let the solution on 3 min after applying it. I was very upset cuz you can't just get it done again and my hair looked awful and I had to save to pay for that. She was way more expensive than the other stylist since she was there 6 years. Her cut seemed good. I had went to Beauty School years ago in Miami Florida so I know the process was wrong and I tried to tell Michael this solution needs to stay in my hair way longer to straighten it. He tried to tell her to leave it on longer when the Blonde stylist in the far right corner yelled just leave it on overriding Michael. Her chair is back in the far right . After she yelled that out she was talking softly to her client and she and the client laughed together! What an awful experience it all was. I ended up calling Michael 4 days after i washed and saw my hair all with my deep waves in the back still that I cannot control in the Summer at all. He said he could give a conditioner since it was very damaged. I told him I have a great conditioner at home. So I hung up and tried to call back my stylist hoping I could get some money back since my hair was not straightened at all. Here Mike answered and I told him who I was and I wanted to take to my stylist . He ended up extremely angry and just said I offered you a condition treatment so I just hung up. If I ever in any profession, as in a stylist , I would have offered a little money back. 30 .00 or so and I would have felt respected and understood tgat my hair was gonna even be harder to work with . So I'm sad I really liked Michael and was so thankful for their pricing and he was always gracious. So I'm sorry to have written this review but you have to know what you are doing when giving this type of service.
