I love the stores for Anthropolgie . So beautifully and aesthetically pleasing and the experience of shopping is always good unless you meet one of those snooty store associates. Good thing is the staff here seemed alright . I was able to snag some great deals on pants and tops and gave myself a pat on the back because this place is generally overpriced. The fits are flattering but the same can't be said for the quality of material. This location is smaller than most others I have seen but they have enough inventory for a good shopping experience .If you are looking for more variety ,head to the location in Pearl . read more

Anthropology is a cool store. It just is. They know their brand, their clientele, and continually produce items that hit the mark, season after season. I just wish they weren't so dang expensive! I'm always amazed at the teenagers buying jeans and sweaters in bulk. Clearly they have parents who give them their credit card! I don't, so I have to really be in love with something to shell out that kind of money! This store has a mix of items including women's clothes and accessories, some bedding, and home decor items. The clothing is a sophisticated boho style, free flowing maxi dresses, big chunky sweaters, cropped sweaters, wide leg pants, fringed handbags, dangly earrings - all stuff I love! But again, prices are high and I'm a really good shopper so can and do find the same "look" at other places, even though it may take some hunting! In home decor you can find candles, textured throws and pillows, woven baskets, coffee table books and even some serving ware. When I visit, I head right to the back where the clearance racks are. I figure if it's meant to be, it will be in this rack and in my size! Service isn't the best as others have said. But as I've stated many times, I prefer shopping on my own and actually don't like being bombarded when I enter a store with, "Hi, what brings you in today? Can I help you find something?" 8No. I'm here to check things out and if needed, I will ask for assistance. So I'm not affected by the snooty attitude. read more

Anthropologie is one reason I visit Bridgeport Village. I like the atmosphere of this store and the merchandise they offer. The only element they fall short on is customer service. I have never been greeted upon entering the store or the entire time I shop here. Luckily, this isn't a big deal for me as I like to browse quietly without a salesperson constantly offering unwanted assistance. Anthropologie is a chain of about 200 stores worldwide. They sell women's apparel & accessories, intimates, home furniture & decor, beauty and gift items. The merchandise falls into five style categories: soft & delicate, Boho chic, easy cool, elegant classic and modern sporty. The merchandise is good quality and the prices reflect this. Anthropologie is open Monday thru Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday 11am-6pm. There is plenty of parking available and bus 76 stops nearby. Anthropologie is located near Barnes & Noble, across the street from PF Chang's. I enjoy shopping at Anthropologie and recommend it! read more

I love coming to Anthropologie but this location doesnt seem to have much variety and the items they do have are just boring and not worth the high price tag. The downtown location had a much better collection with two floors of clothing, bedding, jewlery and even furniture. I've stopped by here multiple times and nothing has caught my eye or wowed me to purchase. I feel like they have really been downhill with their designs since they use to be my place to shop for dresses or unique tops and now I just pass them by since they dont have any cute boho tops or fabrics that I have seen in the past. I feel like the designers have really been lacking the past two years and they need to get more creative and actually offer boutique pieces. I've seen the same issue on their online shop as well with with basic boring items I can find elsewhere. read more

Feck, I love it all! Even the smell - makes me want to do cartwheels, round offs, then land on my heels, jam a flower in my hair, and drop my Amex like it's black. This is retail therapy at it's best: todo tranquilo - muito legal! Kinda funky and definitely fresh. Beautiful and sometimes unaffordable clothing but tax free shopping here helps. We have one in SF but the selection is a bit different. I like this one best. DRESSES: chic, soft, and flowing to back out to dayuum fine. Nothing is trashy. Its all that: girl next door blowing dandelions on a park bench - skirt slightly above the knee - legs crossed. Hot, but not like you're gonna burn for that. TOPS: same as above but even better paired with fitting jeans. Ok, I'm sort of lying because the tops can be risqué depending on how you're stacked, but over all the genre is soft-cuteness/ pretty. My favorite top came from this store and I have yet to see anyone wearing it - love a one of a kind. FURNITURE & HOME DECOR: country home/ shabby chic/ vintagish - not for me but maybe my cabin on Pinterest.com?!? SALE RACK: unprecedented - wicked deals - love! Huge! Unless I'm wearing a suit, sweats or jeans and a hoodie, I like my clothes classic with a side of funky fresh but somewhat unique. I'm looking forward to shopping here again very soon. While I enjoy the Anthro aesthetic, I find the prices a tad too high and the demographic is a bit older than myself- I'm more of a Free People/Urban Outfitters type when it comes to clothes. I don't need a whimsical book on birds or romantic tea cups. I tend to gravitate toward Anthro's sales racks (which are pretty good, especially after holidays). I happened to be here the day after Christmas and saw a few potential purchases in the housewares sales section, but I noticed the long line of bored Lake Oswego housewives and decided I didn't need them that badly. I've found the workers here are a bit snooty and I am rarely acknowledged whether it's walking around or trying to flag down a worker to get into a fitting room- I have had this happen in other Anthros too, so maybe they figure since I don't fit the suburban mom trying to find retail meaning that I'm not worth a courtesy hello. Which is fine...I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Sometimes you won't be able to find an item you like at the other store, this location would most likely have it. But yes, the dresses here I must say are uber cute. Love. LOVE. Love! LOVE! Okay. I might be a little biased as I have always loved this place, and when I heard there was one fairly close to where I live, I got SUPER excited. I used to have to drive miles and miles and miles to get to one in California. Not anymore! Anyway, for those who haven't been to an Anthropologie, it's an upscale Urban Outfitters, because it's the same company, but mainly for ladies. They have clothing, accessories, shoes, gifts, and home goods like furniture, kitchenware, and linens. I have to admit that I love almost everything they sell. It has a lot of designer things, but lesser known ones. They sell a lot of items with patterns and prints on them, and I am a sucker for both. It is a bit on the more expensive side, but I can't help but fall in love with this place every time I walk in. The employees were welcoming when we visited, and the store was immaculate. They have a "sale" room when you walk in towards the left side on the right. If you haven't visited, I would recommend it. read more

I drove about an hour to make returns of things I had bought online. The person helping me with my returns returned 2 of my items then said, "We can't return this sweatshirt because it's been more than 30 days since you bought it." I had never heard of this policy at Anthro and was put off by how the associate was not apologetic about it or the inconvenience, also said they could not offer me store credit. I looked on the app and it still gave me the option to return the sweatshirt. So I showed them a barcode and they called the manager over who said: "The app will just tell you to come into the store so we can tell you it's not able to be returned." Like how does that even make sense? In the end they reluctantly processed the return with the app barcode. I overheard a staff member say something along the lines of "our sales just look bad this weekend because we've had so many returns." Left feeling annoyed because I've had no trouble with returning things at a different Anthro location, so I won't be coming back to this one. read more

Not too long ago, I was shopping with my mom and had a quick return to make at Anthropologie. I hesitated even bringing her in, because I didn't want her to know that this is where I blow my money...knowing darn well she'd hyperventilate at the thought a simple top could cost more than 20 bucks let alone $128 and spend a whole day chewing me out for my money management skills and how I should be more frugal like her. But heck, I was already at Bridgeport and so I bit the bullet and went in really quick, hoping to make the experience such a blur that she wouldn't have time to stop and look at the price tags. I walked in, went to the cash register, relieved that she wasn't hovering at my side to see the price of the item I had bought. When I was all finished, I went around the store trying to locate the short Asian lady that I had so tactfully ditched on purpose, and I see her with a blouse in one hand, with her other hand going through more clothes. My jaw dropped in disbelief and I said, "Mom, what are you doing?" She looked at me and said, "When I first walked in I couldn't figure out where the clothes were (being used to clothes rounders like Macy's)...but once I found them, they are all so cute! I love everything in this store!" I wanted to say, "Who are you and what have you done to my mother?" Even though she couldn't justify spending 80 bucks on that blouse she had in hand, she said to me, "Work hard and make lots of money so you can shop here all the time!" Anthropologie got my mother's stamp of approval. That speaks more than a five star rating in my world. I love this store. Even more so than the Pearl location because parking is free here...which allows me more time to shop to my heart's content without wondering if my meter has expired. Yes, I wish it was a lot cheaper...but sometimes, it's worth the splurge for something that fits so well, is unique, and makes you feel like a million bucks. read more

I walked in and no one said "hi" which I got over except that as I walked the store every staff member that I passed just looked at me indifferently and then walked the other direction. Hopefully for their sake I came in on an "off" day. Otherwise the store seems well stocked and I like the layout, just not impressed with customer service. I was so excited to shop here but was so disappointed. The sizing all runs huge, so there wasn't a lot of options to start with. Nobody acknowledged me until I was almost ready to leave. I did find one thing and went to try on, I was the only person waiting for a room, and I waited almost fifteen minutes. The rooms were "reserved", but the whole fifteen minute wait not one person went in or out (rooms were empty). The employee there acknowledged me once, told me to wait and they should open soon, and ignored me the rest of the time. Another associate checked in every now and then and did apologize for the wait. I don't know why I waited, I'm no longer comfortable giving this particular location any money. I felt awfully uncomfortable the whole time I was there. read more

I can't help it, I love clothes! I do! Cute cozy sweaters, shirts with silky, flowy, fabrics, and ultra soft cotton tees...I could go on and on, but there is not enough space in this review for that! So when I feel the "need" to spoil myself with that one piece that makes me feel like and ultra sexy woman, I head to Anthro! When I first walk in, I gaze quickly past the home goods and make my way to the back room where all the markdowns are...Yes, I like to shop but also like a great sale too! I found my favorite sweater last yr in this back room, and what a steal it was, I felt like I found the deal of the yr! Aside from the back room, I do love all their clothes, so many different and unique styles here. But be warned...a nice shirt will set you back 80+ bucks! Ummm...this is where the back room comes in! I will however, put a bill on the back burner if I fall in love with a must have shirt from here....you betcha!!! read more

I LOVE this store! We just walked out of there with a $38 bra for $8. Yippee! When items are clearances they really mark them down! I love Anthro though mostly because of their clothing. There are some amazing sweaters in their right now! The materials of the dresses and blouses and even scarfs is so super soft. I love the candles! I love the bedding!The staff here was so kind and helpful. Did you know that if you are an Anthro member you get a special coupon for your birthday? I didn't and was so tickled when my cashier informed me and made sure I got my discount. So awesome! The only draw back for me here is I do have difficulty finding things because of the shop layout. It's like a loop around the building and I can't figure out the rhyme or reason for where things are or how they are grouped. I can get passed that though. Anytime I pass this store... I have to go in. Seconds after I enter - I feel, pure bliss. Candles burning, walls filled with stylish and chic clothes and trendy happy spirited music... Amazing! Anthro's atmosphere makes the price tags seem worth the ambiance. The walls are covered with creative and unique decorations - like a whole ceiling to floor piece made out of rubber bands?! Awesome! Extremely upset about my experience at this location. After purchasing my wedding dress from the Portland location, I loved anthropology. I stopped in at this location with a friend and my husband after dinner tonight. We were browsing in the sale section. A sales associate names Liz came over to us and very abruptly said that they were now closed. After that, she walked over to another woman who was looking at clothes. She asked her if she needed help finding anything, offered to order items online, and then jokingly said that she understands that she needs a little more time to shop. The way that she treated us was insulting and humiliating. I don't know if her attitude towards us was because we were shopping in the sales section or if it was because we are women of color, but it was unacceptable. I will not be returning. read more

Here is my, "thanks for making me feel like Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" except you basically told me I didn't know how to dress myself instead of call me a whore story"!!! I head into Anthropology to look for a new shirt, something simple, not too dressy, but something that will look great with my new jeans. After shopping around for a while, I find a cute top, & head towards the fitting room to try it on. On my way, I stop to check out a pair of linen pants that catch my eye. I grab them, & head into the fitting room. I am shopping with my husband, who is "patiently" waiting on the couch just outside my room, so for the sake of time saving, I tell him, I will try the 2 things on at the same time, so I can get his opinion, & he can be free to wander a more manly store. For the record: I had not intention of putting these two pieces together to create an ensemble. That being said, this is when the nightmare starts. So I come out to get my husband's opinion wearing this top & pants. There are two sales associates fawning all over 2 other customers telling them "how great they look", telling them they "look fabulous in that color", telling them they are going to the "best dressed"...... then, one of these little snots comes over to me & she asks me, "Ummm, do you need a different size or something?" Ummmm WTF?? I politely decline even though I wanted to ask her why she wasn't kissing my ass too..... THEN, I over hear her ask the other one "You would never put that outfit together, would you?" Arrggghhhh. I headed straight into the fitting room, took off the pants, & shirt, & walked out of the store. (even though I had initially planned on getting the shirt) How rude!! I may go out of my house in sweatpants once in a while when I'm not even going to the gym, but dammit, I have not completely deboarded the fashion train! & I don't feel I need to explain myself to a snotty little retail worker! I proceded to drive my ass all the way to the other side of town to go to The Buckle....... where I dropped a whopping $550+!! As Julia said: "You work on comission, right? Big mistake. Big. Huge! Always beautifully stocked and merchandised so well, I always leave there feeling so upbeat and inspired. I happened to have met the manager Sandy off premises today and she was very charming and loves what she does for a living...it shows Sandy! I used my experience as a learning lesson for my young daughters. This is not how you treat people. Especially when they're trying to give you $. I had a handful of clothes and was told THE STORE IS CLOSED. I looked at my phone it was exactly 8:00. Yes, the store just closed. I'll head to the dressing rooms. I asked where they were and was told to come back tomorrow to try them on. I just looked at her and she paused and said, or you can try them now. Yes, I'll will. I know you want to get home. I usually love this store, despite the prices. However, I just bought a $28 candle there and while it worked great the first time, it would not light after that, even with a slightly clipped wick. I called the store to try to find out whether they'd accept a return/exchange and couldn't get a real human on the phone which is a huge pet peeve of mine in retail.
