It's a weird thing to notice, I know, but these things were seriously unhygienic; I couldn't help but take note. Upon entering the store itself, I saw what seemed to be a good selection of baby...stuff. As someone who doesn't have kids, and is never around them, I had no idea what a lot of it was, or what would be an appropriate birthday gift. No problem, I'd just ask a salesperson for assistance- or so I thought. The three employees I saw were all having an intense conversation at the sales counter. I walked up, waited. Cleared my throat. Made eye contact. Said "excuse me" to the salesclerk who was looking directly at me. Finally, feeling invisible, I left. This store is probably great, if you walk in knowing what you want, and don't need any help. For those of us not in the mommy club, however, it's just not a welcoming place.

The whole place is HUGE, divided into separate buildings (outdoors/home/clothing/etc) so make sure you leave time. I was shocked to find the main building is open 24/7. Some things are ridiculously overpriced (Internet search!), and I willingly paid... because I wanted to. Many of the quality items, IYKYK, are completely worth it because you'll own them for life. I still own mocs from my uni days.

(Though, what doesn't, lol) I came in here looking for a shirt that would be flattering, kind of modest and covering my stomach, and make me feel pretty -while being not too flashy. Kind of ridiculously picky, right? Not to these saleswomen! Three of them walked around with me, talked to me, joked with me. They didn't care that I was smelly fresh from the gym or opinionated on everything. In the end I ended up looking at a blue sparkly shirt, unsure how I'd look in it- and a saleswoman came up to me, told me she had it, and told me how she styled it. She helped me pick the right size and made me feel so good about myself, though I'm not a standard "sample size." When I walked in, clearly nervous, the woman folding clothes at the front said, "Come right in. You're in the right place. This is what we are here for!" A+. I know it's salespeople's jobs to be kind and sell stuff, but they went above and beyond with customer experience. They made me feel beautiful when I never do. And not judged. Great experience. Most places have the top and bottom as one size and sold together. Torrid, sells their swimsuits separately, which is a bit more expensive but totally worth it. I ordered online and it was a 40% off sale day. Fantastic! However when it arrived, the top was just a bit too small. I drove out the the Maine mall and asked if they would take an online return. They did, and I got a tip that was 2 sizes bigger. The person at the register seems apprehensive about the online return at first. However once she realized, she was very kind and asked if I wanted to try the new top on. It's a good thing I did, because it was too large. I finally got one that was just the right size. Perfect for me! So I was very happy to have had a great experience and this is my 3rd torrid bathing suit, they really are very nice for the big ladies. Everything is covered, and held in, nice and snatched. lol. If you're a little on the plus side, check them out! Wonderful !

I totally understand prices have gone up for everything but lots of stuff seemed more. Also not factoring in the prices the large majority of items looked like complete garbage besides a select few items. Also maybe due to the holidays being so recent may explain it but, but half the store looked ransacked. Would make you believe they may be having a going out of business sale. Only positives I can see are going here for gifts for stocking stuffers or cheap white elephant gifts. Maybe you'll get lucky and find a deal, but I will go elsewhere for higher quality items.

I've found insanely cool mirrorball cups, glow in the dark nail polishes, fun stocking stuffers, at home spa day essentials, quality party supplies, and more. I think the thing about this store is that you shouldn't come looking to find something in particular (like, when you go to the Dollar Tree looking for something specific, they probably have it or something similar to it). Five Below is the kind of place you come to with no expectations and poke around a bit, maybe you find something fun that day, maybe you don't. This is making me sound like some super consumer, and really I'm not - I don't actually like stuff or things or doodads at all - but this place is pretty fun (especially if you're planning an event, are an actual event planner, or the Pinteresty/party hosting one in your group of friends and family!).

But this wonderful shop with wooden clogs lining the windows was too cute to pass up without a walk through. Especially since I had commented TWICE that day already on other people's cute clogs and how I really wanted a good pair. I took it as a sign. One side of the shop is the store, the other their workshop, and the entire space smells like leather. The woman working that day, who I would guess was the owner, was kind and patient and got me a few different pairs to try on. I left before buying to debate if I wanted to spend a bit of $ on a pair and also needed to decide on a color (brown or black). Well, after a drink at a nearby brewery, I returned and bought my great new pair of shoes. They are comfy and cute and came in a great little cloth tote bag I've used quite a few times already. All and all a great purchase, and a shop I highly recommend for shoes and all things leather!

A had a chat with the very friendly person working there (the owner maybe) and then noticed a dreamy leather tote, just the right light brownish red that kind of matches my hair. It was an ok price for a thick leather, well built tote, although more than I had planned to spend that day. I couldn't resist. Now 3 years later I'm still using the tote and get compliments all of the time. Right now I'm building a smallish house and find myself throwing saw blades, pints of paint, and other items I pick up at the store into it. Not normally what one should do with a nice purse, but the purse is unphased. It gets more of a worn in look, but it's even more lovely as such.

It is surprising we haven't been here despite being on exchange street so many times. Some of the items in the window were what caught my wife's attention and brought us in the door. The staff were friendly and even asked my wife if she already had a spot picked out to place it for the raven book decor she was buying. Then went on to say it's a recent item to arrive and has been tempted to get for themselves too. This store has quite a selection of items, with a good amount of seasonal items currently with plenty of Halloween/fall things. They have clothing, crystals, incenses, and lots of nature inspired items. You'll see lots of mushrooms, plants, butterflies, skulls to give some examples. Prices did seem very reasonable for the most part. Overall the vibes here are an overall nice and inviting shop with items marketed towards open minded free spirited people. It was made in China and was a generic beanie I found online through google reverse search for significantly less than what bought it here. On the note of prices, everything is expensive and overpriced, I found all the interesting trinkets online for SIGNIFICANTLY less. I implore you, don't buy from this store, it isn't worth it.
