Leading into the wedding we knew we wanted to use all local Maine florals, laidback bud vases that didn't feel overdone but were beautiful in their uniqueness, and happy colors. Megan was able to take what we were envisioning, talk us through how she could execute it and enhance it, and exceeded anything we could have imagined. From the individual flowers that she selected to how they were arranged for our ceremony chuppah, our beautiful small bouquets, and our magical table arrangements, they made every moment of our day and night feel magical, they were scene-setting florals. We highly recommend hiring Field Floral Studio, for Megan's knack for picking the perfect unique flowers, eye for stunning arrangements, and for the all around laidback but professional experience.

The team was early this morning, helped primp the arrangements and helped place them for us. Overall a top notch experience from start to finish. They could go toe to toe with any high-end florist back home in San Francisco.

Located in a shopping plaza, Lwapin Lizards has been located here for a long time, years! First…read morestarted coming here in the early 2000's. Ample parking and clear signage. Leapin has clearly marked sections to making it easier to find what you are looking for easier. They carry a wide variety of mediums from crystals to books to incense. Jewelry both made locally as well as from afar. The woman who assisted seemed a little awkward when asking for help. Could not make eye contact nor would she stay with me to answer any questions. She went from her chair behind the counter, pointed out the table with jewelry walking away from me to the bookshelf where she started to browse the books. The only thing I could think of was she was looking for a crystal book to assist? She did not though. I selected a gorgeous honey Amber necklace and three bracelets, next stones. If you've never been here before you learn that the stones call YOU. I have many examples of this happening to me and today was no exception. Then over to the incense area for a few boxes to stock up the house. I spent over $100 which seemed to make the woman happy, she had to do the bare minimum to make this sale. I do miss the women who've worked here who jump in and ask if they can help, stay available for any questions and are super happy you came in. Maybe she was having an off day, don't we all. On the minus side the variety once offered is no longer the case, seems like the whole thing has been scaled back considerably. I will now have to make my way up to the Freeport location and see what if anything has changed there. Happy they are still in our community.

I treated myself to the chocolate/orange latte and it tasted like those orange shaped chocolate balls from England, which was VERY much a positive for me. We only got drinks, but I clocked that they source their bagels from Orchard Ridge, which I can confirm are delicious. It was such a lovely spot to enjoy a coffee with my family while we finished a crossword puzzle. I even perused their flower book shelf and found inspiration for my next flower arrangement. A true neighborhood gem that I hope sticks around for the long-haul.

There's something really special that for over a decade this neighborhood spot has remained a coffee shop and a gathering space. And the updated interior? WOW! Having the counter be at the back of the space has made a huge difference with the flow. It's a beautiful, modern, minimalist (white and floral focused) decor; they even have flowers for sale. Buying a handmade bouquet while I wait for my coffee (or even just one stalk of something to brighten my day)? Lovely. My only criticism really is about the acoustics here: it can get very loud, very quickly. On the weekends, mid-morning? Whoa; overwhelming (especially if you have any auditory processing issues or get overstimulated). Also, there's not a lot of seating and I don't think they have those "you can sit with me!" signs (yet?) that places like Coveside and Double Great have. So it's common for one person to take up a table of four. I do like the standing table by the front corner window though; you can definitely squeeze quite a few people there! The coffee is fantastic (I'm so glad they stuck with Rwanda Bean roasts): a basic iced coffee is always reliable, and the signature latte - the Brambler - is one of the best in the city. My preference is a large iced option with oat milk and an extra shot of espresso (which is actually two shots here). It adds up, that's a nearly $10 drink before tax and tip, but it's definitely a little treat! A few vegan baked goods would be appreciated too! Maybe a LFL corner or box outside too?
