My two most frequent businesses, Daiso and Nijiya Market, are in the same building. Right across the street from that building is another small strip mall with many restaurants. I highly recommend that you visit Sawtelle if you haven't already to experience Japan while in Southern California.

This…read moremuseum is definitely an art experience worth visiting with iconic figures and street art that paints Mr. Brainwash's (Thierry Guetta) main mantra for the museum, "Life Is Beautiful" which is dedicated to honoring imagination, joy, creativity and inspiration. It's his own work that is displayed but he also references artists work such as the famous Banksy and other artists. A friend told me that the documentary, Exit through the Gift Shop, is connected to this museum. I have yet to watch but will do so to gain more understanding. Apparently, it was free museum day because there were hosts at the door greeting and letting visitors in. That was nice. It wasn't too busy but a good crowd to where I had to wait for my turn to take photos. It's three levels including the rooftop where more artwork is held and a view overlooking Beverly Hills. They also have a gift shop with unique items for purchase. I bought a cutesy pen with an engraved quote on it. To add, I was instantly moved by the creativity and effort they put into this museum. It brought a lot of inspiration. The art work gave me ideas of how I would want a part of my home to look like. It was a fun visit and would recommend for anyone wanting to dig into their imagination and enjoys art. It is an excellent place for taking photos and taking in the city views, as the campus sits atop a hill in Brentwood, overlooking the city, the mountains, and the Pacific Ocean. My husband and I spent about 4 hours here during one visit. The Central Garden was for sure my favorite sight to see out of everything. The garden is designed to change with the seasons, so it can look different depending on what time of year you visit. Free English-language tours focused on this garden are offered daily. Clearly, this is a must-visit spot for anyone visiting socal. It is one of socal's most famous cultural destinations, with plenty of tourists as well as locals visiting. The unique art collections, world-class exhibitions, and 4 beautiful gardens are all exciting parts to explore. If you are driving there, then parking is easy peasy. There is a huge designated parking garage. After parking, you can then take a tram up to the museum. I believe parking is only free after 5pm. If you get there any earlier, then you'll have to pay for parking. The price of parking is fully worth the experience.

You will go through a security check before even boarding the tram. 5. They have their own App with maps, audio tours, and commentary. 6. You can pack a picnic or eat at their restaurants/cafes there but the picnic option is ideal! 7. Wear walking shoes and dress for the weather as it's indoor AND outdoors. 8. If it does rain, they have loaner umbrellas available! A cute touch. My personal favorite bit was the outdoor areas and cactus garden. So darn pretty! It's really nice to spend a day exploring The Getty Center.

Personally, I do it for the pure joy but the nice thing is the studio is welcoming to all people regardless of why you're taking the class. And it has been pure joy. Also, all the teachers are fantastic but a special shout-out to Jackie and Raul, who both teach salsa classes, among others, and who have helped foster that home-away-from-home feeling at the studio. Personally, I appreciated every single piece of art I observed, as so much work, love, and dedication went into each item on display that one can only wonder what the artists were thinking or feeling as they created their masterpieces. whoohoo, first review! stopped by this gallery after eyeing some nice art pieces in the window and…read moredecided to check it out. as i perused around, i saw lots of street art and cool knick knacks displayed by artists i weren't too familiar with...but after talking to the owners about street artists that i liked, he was able to point out a few prints and pieces in the back of the store that were on sale. the owners were really chill and were kind enough to show off pieces from their own collection that they were selling. they also had a few prints by Shepard Fairey and other artists for sale as well. i ended up buying a Cryptik- Eastern Philosophy book, which was sold out online and so it was a pleasant surprise to find here. definitely a cool spot to check out if you're into contemporary/urban art!
