Mickey Sitting Admiring The Stars MY FAVORITE!!!
    Eliseo R.

Amazing Art, Great Vibes, and DISNEY ART PIECES?!?! Wow this place was more than I expected. The art from Mr. Brainwash is something else!! I enjoyed walking through the gallery and was amazed by the creativity. Unfortunately this place is closing Sunday 1/18 and will be free to the public only this week. So definitely go and see his/her artwork before it is all gone!! My favorite piece was definitely the Mickey sitting and admiring the stars. I wish I could purchase this and have it in my place but unfortunately I do not have the kind of money to purchase such amazing, desired, and stunning piece. Mr. Brainwash, I look forward to more of your work. I wish you the best in your future as an artist!!!

I've been wanting to visit the Mr. Brainwash Art Museum in Beverly Hills, CA, for the longest time, and I am so glad I went; it was a lot of fun. I love visiting museums, and this is definitely one I would take family, friends, and out-of-towners to. There is even a public parking structure across the street with free two-hour parking, but do read the signs. It's a very interactive museum with lots of photo opportunities. It mixes famous paintings with pop culture, so, for example, there is a wall of Mona Lisa portraits, but with references to different movies and shows, such as a Mona Lisa with Pikachu ears or a lightsaber. There are three floors of art, including a rooftop where you can recreate your own Beatles-inspired Abbey Road moment. Overall, as an art lover, I appreciate the diverse interpretations and references to modern-day society; they are absolutely incredible!

I've lived in LA for a long time now and not sure why it's taken me this long to check out Mr Brainwash (MBW)! I was able to go on a free day (they often do a free entry Sunday each month, if you join their mailing list/follow their social they'll announce it usually the week or so beforehand). Because it was free... it was packed! So it will get a little warm! There are 3 floors, a gift shop and a theater that airs a documentary about MBW every afternoon at 3. The way they've designed the space is so open, interesting and packed with something to see at every corner. Also very cool they've created life sized versions of paintings you literally can jump into, so bring a friend or two or your family to check this place out! Also they have a theater that shows a documentary about MBW each afternoon at 3 titled "Exit through the Gift Shop" and hilariously... you do exit through the gift shop... a great place to pick up postcards, stickers, magnets, books and even some sculpture pieces as well! Public parking lots in Beverly Hills are free for two hours before evening rates kick in. Some street parking with meters but watch for signs.

I had been really looking forward to visiting the Mr. Brainwash Art Museum, especially to see the Disney collaboration on the rooftop, which was the main reason for my visit. Unfortunately, the rooftop was closed due to rain, so I wasn't able to experience that highlight this time around. That said, the museum itself still offered plenty to enjoy. There are three levels of interactive artwork, bold installations, and tons of photo-worthy moments throughout the space. The exhibits are playful, vibrant, and very on-brand for Mr. Brainwash's street-art-meets-pop-culture style. It's easy to spend time exploring each floor and snapping creative photos along the way. While I left a little disappointed about missing the Disney wall art, the overall experience was still fun and engaging. I'll definitely be back on a clear day to check out the rooftop and complete the experience.

Such a cool and fun experience in LA! Stopped in last month on a Saturday and bought tickets at the door with no wait. Plus, easy parking with various structures nearby. Inside was three separate floors filled with modern and quirky takes on art. Also had interactive photo spots and rooms- disco dance party room, a mirror room, chalk board wall to leave your own mark in the museum. A unique art installation and a must stop location for locals and tourists alike!

What a coincidence that it was a free weekend the weekend when visiting! Mr. Brainwash Art Museum was so cool to check out. The art, the art with humor, the uniqueness of each piece in each room WOW! You can definitely spend a few hours here looking at all the details. The museum is a lot bigger than expected so many different rooms and also an outdoor area with more art! You might visit each room but there's so much to look at you might not get a chance to see each art work. Great place to check out. They also have a gift shop to check out!

We appreciate a good museum day and this place did not disappoint. You can probably get thru the exhibition in an hour or two, which works out great since its conveniently located across the street from a city parking lot that offers free 2 hour parking. I appreciate the different rooms and concepts, although some areas felt like dead ends which would cause us to bump into other people. I also didnt know how interactive this place is intended to be as there are some parts of the museum where you can take photos within the artwork but I saw kids jumping on top of and hitting some of the installations, with parents not a care in the world. Felt disrespectful to the artist but also to the people actually tryna view the art. Anyways I digress. I blame the parents lol definitely a cool place to check out. The views from their rooftop were also incredible.

Let me start by saying I am not much of a museum person. But this was an exceptional experience. Me and some friends were lucky enough to snag tickets on a "free night" and we had no idea what to expect. It was much more of an immersive experience than I was expecting it to be. Parking is easy because of its location right in the heart of Beverly Hills. There are plenty of paid parking structures nearby. You will know you have arrived when you see the vertical cars hanging off the side of the building- something you can't miss. I must have walked by this museum a hundred times and never knew what it was. Once inside you free to wander the different floors with all sorts of intersting exhibits. One minute you might be in a mirrored disco and the next minute you could be standing outside of a convenience storefront using a payphone. The Mr. Brainwash Museum really makes you see everyday life in a different way. It is a thought provoking experience that I feel can be enjoyed by people of all different ages and walks of life. I think I told my friends it was the most interesting museum I have ever been to because it didn't feel at all like a museum. I'm curious to know how often the exhibits change. I would definitely like to go back and explore more! The only reason I took off one star is because the museum itself was packed to the point that I felt claustrophobic at times. I understand that this is probably because it was a comp ticket night. But I still feel like there should have been a limit to how many people were allowed in at one time. Some of the hallways are narrow and the spaces small which makes it difficult to navigate with too many people. If not for this, it would have been a perfect night at the museum.

Came here in a free day and it's nice to kill a couple of hours here. It does give vibes of a teenager trying a bit too to be edgy and avant-garde but it's all fun at face value. There's three different levels and some of the areas are video recorded. It's good for kids and there's an outdoor area with interactive art as well. Park in a public garage as street parking will be tough. It was crowded when we were there, but it makes sense since it was a free day. They were giving away posters at the exit for free, which was a nice gesture.

This is such a fun, quirky and unique museum! I was just walking around the neighborhood popping in and out of shops when I stumbled across the the museum. I made eye contact with the guy working the door who seemed friendly and started chatting, which was the exact moment I realized it was a museum! I had some time to kill so I asked if I could buy a ticket for entry right then and there and luckily, tickets were available and easy to purchase at the door. The museum is filled with so many pop-culture inspired pieces and interactives. I found myself constantly curious, entertained and impressed by the range of art displayed. This place would also be so much for to explore with a friend that loves taking pictures - so many photo opps! They also have a museum store where you can buy cool prints and postcards (which of course I did) so bonus points for selling gifts that can easily fit in my carry-on. So happy I stumbled across Mr. Brainwash - money well spent!

Had a fantastic time at Mr Brainwash Art Museum. There was a long line at the time we arrived, we waited roughly 30 mins to get in and it was worth it. There are 3 levels , we started with the rooftop which was my favorite part where we can draw our own artwork on the wall with supplied chalks. There are boxes with sculptures and props where we can be a part of the artwork, very interactive and super fun. The Star Wars room were a standout as I am a total fan of Star Wars. The disco room was a bit fun to dance in as well located on the 2nd floor. I enjoyed all the artwork, and fun modern funky sculptures. We went on a busy day, we couldn't get to see all of the exhibits. but I hope to go back with friends and family. Highly recommend.

it is so unfortunate this contemporary museum is closing this weekend. i lov interactive and artsy pieces; a lot of combinations of different styles and narratives. i would come back if i could c:

The line was really long. I suggest going as soon as they open, and showing up 20-30 minutes early.

Yes, yes, yes! Be prepared to wait to get in, but then prepare to be awestruck. Be sure to look out for their FREE days. I believe one Sunday a month is free! It's worth the admission, but even better for the free. I believe regular admission is still $20 a pop. Park in the structure directly across the street for free 2 hour parking with validation. You could definitely spend more than 2 hours here (possibly 3-4 max), but I'd say many people will be good with 2 hours. I don't want to spoil the surprises, but expect to tantalize your senses. Have fun and enjoy! Hit Rodeo drive if you're feelin' bougie...lol

Mr Brainwash Art Museum Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Mr Brainwash Art Museum

Is it suitable for elderly people who have difficulty walking?

    No. Lots of stairs

    I saw $10 Tix for Students & Seniors. I wonder if Seniors are 55, 60 or 65?

Do they offer senior citizen discount tickets? Is it the same as the student/senior ticket?

Tickets were 20.00 dollars for adults and seniors

Is there wheelchair access? Elevator? Ramp?

    Yes there is an elevator

Are dogs allowed inside the museum?

Can I buy tickets at the box office?

Yes, you can. That's what we did

Will you get access to come in even if 30 min late to enter the museum?

As long you have a ticket you can come in late or come couple minutes early. We came in 30 minutes early, they just scan out tickets no question ask or check our tickets for time. They are not strict on time like other places.

Where is parking located? And how much is it if there is one?

I had to park on a residential street a few blocks away. (Free) That area can get quite busy and crowded, so getting a parking spot can be tricky. Not necessarily impossible, it is just a highly trafficked (touristy) area.

    Where is the parking located?

There is an underground parking garage across the street from the museum.

How many hours can you spend in the museum?

It takes about 45 minutes to see everything if you don't make any stops, but you're able to stay as long as you'd like until they close!

    What's the Bussiness hours?

As far as I know, Sundays 1-5 by reservations

I was greatly surprised to see The Great Wave Off Kanagawa which is rarely on display due to light sensitivity and fading issues. You could spend all day here browsing through the outdoor exhibits and main museum. The Pavilion for Japanese Art is set to open in Fall 2026 and the La Brea Tar Pits are just a walk away, but they are closing 7/6 for a few years. The LACMA museum is free on weekdays after 3 p.m. (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) for LA residents. If you can manage it, the street parking is also much cheaper than the attached parking lot. On the one hand, the new building is more interesting in person and inside than in photos. The interior flow and light are pleasant, and it is surprisingly refreshing to see the horizon while viewing art. On the other hand, the large windows mean there is less wall space and a bad glare on some cases and placards (even with the curtains). Similarly, I appreciate the willingness to experiment and shake up how we view art - both in terms of the organizational schema and space itself. I liked that there was no hierarchy or prioritization in terms of mediums, eras, or world regions. But even though their approach has the additional strength of highlighting commonalities between places and periods - like in the large ceramics display or room on Buddhist art - it also felt unfocused, random, fragmented and hodge-podge. One could argue that the museum lets you make your own connections, rather than imposing its curatorial vision on patrons. That sounds nice in theory, but in practice, with minimal signage it relies on patrons already having their own sense of world history to provide background context. Otherwise, you are left grasping for meaning, or only understanding things on a very surface level. (eg: Do Ho Suh's "Jageyeong Hall, Gyeongbok Palace." I have been to Gyeongbokgung in Seoul, so I knew exactly what I was looking at; the average (non-Korean) visitor would likely have no clue about what this was, why it mattered, or about the artist themself). Additionally, I was surprised that everything was monolingual. Because I speak English, I didn't try to track down other resources. But in a county that is almost 50% Hispanic/Latino, where our "I voted" stickers are in 10+languages, and in a place that prides itself as a global destination, the lack of obvious multilingual wayfinding and interpretive signage felt like an odd oversight. Similarly, the cafe and gift shop are best suited for folks who don't think twice about forking over $20 for a smoothie or $150 for sweat pants. There's nothing wrong with providing a higher tier experience for those with resources, but without cheaper options it felt disconnected from much of the actual community it is meant to serve. Policies are also unclear. For example, on the website, it states that "Coats and bags may be checked at the Ticket Office during regular operating hours." But I witnessed an older couple try to do this yesterday, and the woman behind the counter got very annoyed with them and dismissively told them that they don't check bags. Hmm. Parking was $24 on a weekday morning. Overall, it still has a lot to offer, and is worth a visit.

I thought it was a timed entry but it is not...or it wasn't when we went. I followed the parking sign on the wall which led me to a lot just a little north of the museum. It was $20 to park there. Had I had more time to plan, I may have parked somewhere else as I felt that was a bit steep. I'm assuming metered parking would be hard to find in that location as it is in the heart of Hollywood. I thought it would be similar to the Museum of Illusions in New York, but rather than a museum feel, this was purely just photo ops. You can rent tripods at the front for $10. They also provide free lockers for your bags and stuff- which I would highly recommend. I didn't take up the offer in the beginning but soon realized that was a better option. I would also like to highly recommend and thank Tim! He showed us the ropes of how to take photos and he took some photos for us. He was friendly, professional and patient with my two young kids. He definitely knows his way around an iPhone camera and showed me some tricks I didn't even know. Tim's photos came out a lot better than mine as you need to find the perfect angle for the pictures to have that illusion effect. The tickets I purchased online also allowed us to go to the giant house next door and the upside down house. Tim came to the rescue again and took some amazing photos for us in the upside down house. It was a fun experience for all of us and I would definitely recommend visiting this location. If you see Tim, ask him for some pointers! Thank you, Tim!

There are several photo-friendly illusion setups that make for some cool and creative shots. We bought the bundle deal and also visited the Upside Down House and the Giant House. While those were interesting to see, there still wasn't much to do at either location besides taking pictures. One thing I really appreciated was the front cashier--He was very nice and welcoming, which made the check-in experience pleasant. However, I don't think the visit was quite worth the price. It felt a bit too expensive for what it offers, especially considering the bundle included all three exhibits. The experiences are fun for photos, but they're fairly short and limited in activities. For the amount you pay, it would be nice if there were more interactive things to do or more areas to explore. Overall, it's a good spot if you're really into taking fun illusion photos, but if you're expecting a longer or more activity-filled experience, it may feel a bit overpriced.

One of the best things about the Hammer Museum is that admission is free, and they offer generous hours, which makes it a great activity whether you're a local or just visiting Los Angeles. The exhibitions were stunning. I loved the mix of contemporary and modern art, along with works from iconic artists such as Van Gogh and Monet. Every gallery felt thoughtfully curated, and there was always something interesting to discover around the next corner. And the museum store? Absolutely beautiful. I honestly wanted to buy everything. From art books to unique gifts and home items, it's worth visiting on its own. If you're in Los Angeles and looking for a relaxing and inspiring way to spend an afternoon, I highly recommend the Hammer Museum. I'll definitely be back! Note: While the museum has featured works by artists such as Van Gogh and Monet in certain exhibitions or collections, the exhibits rotate, so what's on display may vary during your visit.

We weren't overly excited or impressed, there was really no wow factor about this museum. The only more interesting aspect was the exhibition of the early 1900s beginnings of Hollywoodland and the early movie making era. At least now we can say that we been there done that, one more check off our bucket list.

They currently have a jaws exhibit, beauty, and the beast, and Barbie as usual they have all of the fabulous costumes from various cinematic greats. It's a must see and definitely worth taking a day to visit. The admission is $25 parking is also around $25. You can get lost in there for an entire day. It's a day well spent. There is a café and a bar and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. if you're looking for something to do in LA this is a place to go. I always enjoy myself and exhibits rotate so there's always something new to see!
