Located on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Waialae Avenue, across from Chaminade University/Saint Louis School, Patty's Floral Designs is a local business that has been around for decades! The quality is outstanding! I looked at Patty's Instagram posts and was blown away by the colors, varieties, and beauty of her creations! She has a good eye and is very professional! I just had to meet her after passing by the shop all of these years! We were picking up lunch from the restaurant next door. The free, small, shared parking lot is much appreciated! I went inside initially for the air-conditioning. Then, I met Patty - she is so sweet! She showed me a lei po'o (crown of flowers for the head) that she just finished... ooh! It holds its shape because she winds the flowers around a wire! Smart! I've read reviews by my friends, Kelly K., Paul M., Nicole, Holly, Ric C., and Lyn L. They were all happy with Patty's work. I'll come here next when I need a bouquet or two!

I was talking to my sister in law about her upcoming courthouse wedding. She wasn't going to have a bouquet since it would be a small ceremony but I thought it would be nice to get her one and she agreed. I emailed Patty just to see about pricing and availability. They responded right away with all their options and pricing so I could decide. They put me on for that Saturday and confirmed everything. I said designer's choice for the bouquet and was a little worried but I shouldn't have been! When we got there Saturday morning to pick up the flowers, Patty greeted us. She was soooo nice. The flowers came out so beautifully and the lei was nice and full. Amazing service and quality! I would highly recommend and come here again :)

Watanabe Floral is Hawaii's largest full service floral shop since 1946, and my favorite shop. I try to visit here at least once a week to pick up roses/florals for my 2 vases, this help me think of a special person in my life who Loves floral. This place is such a happy vibe place/feeling, once you enter you will know what I mean. I just love the decor, so colorful, cheerful, so happy! I remember the very first time when I brought my mom here, I could see her happy face, I had to snap a photo of her at front of store. My recent visit I picked 10 colorful roses for my vase and also had to pick up a Birthday gift. Loved looking at all the orchids, picking one was hard. Watanabe has everything here, not only floral needs, you can just do your one stop gift shopping her. Like a local Hallmark with all the trinkets, gifts, snacks, jewelry, some very unique items that I never seen before. I came across the handmade crochet items and couldn't pass up on the bird and flower key chain, had to get them. They have very great vendors they purchase from, that's a great for supporting local! All in all, I just love shopping here! Don't forget - Mon-Sat. 9-4 & closed on Sundays! May your life be as beautiful as the flowers you give, spread happiness and joy with flowers!!

Up until now, they've always done a great job, but this recent experience for Mother's Day was extremely disappointing. First, the delivery driver brought the wrong bouquet. I paid $209.41 (including delivery), but my mom received a bouquet that was clearly not what I ordered later confirmed to be a lower priced arrangement. I had to call customer service, who then contacted the driver immediately. While I appreciate that they responded quickly, it still took about 47 minutes for the driver to return, take back the incorrect bouquet, and retrieve the correct one from the truck. When the correct arrangement finally arrived, the presentation was still off. The vase was too short for the flowers, making the bouquet look unbalanced and like it was falling out. For over $200, I expected much better attention to detail and quality. On top of that, the company advertised "free delivery," but that only applied to very limited areas on the island. I still had to pay a delivery fee despite the initial mistake being entirely on their end, which felt misleading. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience, especially for a special occasion like Mother's Day. I've had good experiences before, but this one really missed the mark.

Thank you, Twinsie "Auntie" Nadine C., for showing me love and introducing me to tuberose. I am a HUGE fan of tuberose now! I was thoughtfully blessed with some leis here and wow do I feel loved! Gorgeous, fragrant, and they lasted the whole trip with a light spritz of water in a bag and popped into the refrigerator. I even got to check the place out while we were leaving Chinatown. It's a cozy shop and you can tell they are very much well loved. What else can be said? Come here and get all your leis here. Nothing like getting lei'd by Cindy. This place is a daffodil-ight!

My father brought a huge corporate account to Cindys, which they made A LOT of money from. He had a personal relationship with the owners, which kept us loyal for decades. After my father passed, the company cut tie with Cindy's. I was devastated and didn't understand why. Cindy's always gave us the best service. Recently I found out why relations were cut. Cindy's has really changed and no longer provides the great customer service they once did. I placed a very important order for an event on the mainland to be shipped out and arrive a day before the event. I placed the order over a month in advance and was promised it would be just fine and well taken care of. Well, when the week of the event came, I called every day, multiple times a day, just to confirm everything. They won't answer their phones. I sent emails and messages through their website. Those also went unanswered. I even went to the store in person before work at 6am, nut it wasn't open yet. I had no way of getting in touch with them and wondered if they had shut down. I had to go on the faith that they have always provided us stellar service in the past. I was so wrong. Cindy's completely forgot to send my order at all, and left me without anything, the day before the event. The amount of stress I went through trying to find a florist on the mainland to provide lei was insane. Cindy's finally answered my many messages the day before. They said they could try to overnight my order that they forgot, but there were no promises it would get there on time, since the event was on a Saturday. I still have not been sent a receipt from them, which I asked for multiple times, or confirmation of the mailing. The lei did go, and my credit card got a huge charge, but without the receipt, I don't even know what I paid them for. And really, after all they put us through, they should have comped the order. My dad would be rolling in his grave to know how far downhill the company that he loved to support has gone. As for me, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I do truly hope they can get it together and grow back into the great company they once were.

So, I saved the box to give for my kids to keep. The Lei's were purchased as a surprise presentation for my Son who was born in Hawaii and got Married this weekend in Colorado where we live now. I did a surprise official Lei Ceremony presentation after the mother son dance. I presented shell lei's that were my parents from the 1970's, then presented a set of Shell and Kukui nut Lei from my husband and I to the Bride and Groom. Then I gave the Maile and Floral Orchids to the Bride and Groom to present to each other as Husband and Wife. I had the DJ read the presentation connection to Hawaii as well the Historical Meanings of each Lei as they were presented. After the Lei Ceremony I had the DJ play the Hawaiian Wedding song sung by Elvis Presley taken from the Movie Blue Hawaii with the Hawaiian translation for a second dance for the Bride and Groom, It was a very special moment.
