The Leis here are gorgeous and theres definitely many to choose from. The owner is quite rude and mean though. She rushed us so much and yelled to not touch the leis or open the fridge to look at the leis a bit closer. We still got 4 leis from her for $200 total despite her attitude since we were already there. We'll be going elsewhere our leis next time though. read more

I was actually looking for a different lei shop originally but i didn't want to walk in front of the gaggle of men sitting along the side walk so i crossed the street to see what Lina's had to offer. I knew I wanted a pikake lei for mom's birthday and immediately saw it in the case. She had so many different offerings of lei which was awesome. So many different varieties and colors to choose from. Triple strand pikake lei for $35! The lady there was so helpful too, bc I wanted an additional lei to compliment the white of the pikake but not take away from the fragrance, so we went with a deep purple orchid, $35. Beautiful selection of leis but you need to be careful. Some times there are bruised petals so you may want to check the leis before purchasing. Of all the stands on Mauna Kea St they may possibly have the worst customer service. Do not try to photograph leis. They will ask you to FaceTime. Definitely do not try to open a refrigerator door or you will get a verbal lashing. I felt the wrath of the owner when I inadvertently did that by mistake. Will try to avoid going here now unless I can't find what I need anywhere else. read more

This is our go-to lei shop. It's right at the corner of Beretania and Mauna Kea in Chinatown. Usually if there's a spot open in the front, I'll just pull right up and get in and out of the shop quickly. If it does get busy, there is a parking area right across the street. The flowers and leis are always fresh and look beautiful. The smell of the ginger and tuberose leis are soo good. They really know how to make a lei and arrangements here. It's always so presentable and full. I feel really happy when I'm able to gift someone special a nice lei or haku. Price points are really reasonable and will definitely be a better deal compared to larger "flower shops." There was one time when I messed up and went on Mother's Day. I meant to go the day before, for more selection. On this day, the selection was slim pickings (DUH!), but I picked up a couple of leis, $50 a piece. Priced a little higher, of course and I had to bite the bullet on it. To be honest, when we gifted our moms with the leis, the leis were amazing. It was worth it. Besides, what's $50 when our mom's do so much for us!?! The people here are friendly as well. Oh, and don't open the doors. See which one you want and let them know. They'll grab it for you! I love this place, it is so convenient and you pull right up and pick up your order or buy lei in just a few minutes. I bought beautiful lei for my uncle and auntie golden anniversary and again for our pastors 10year anniversary and new roles. Sometimes I even treat myself to a lei from their day old case. They don't sell old lei and even the day old case looks fresh and lasts easily a whole day or two without wilting. Lina's Lei & Flowers is a small shop by the corner of N. Beretania Street and Manuakea Street, next to Duc's Bistro. They had the best selection of haku (lei po'o) available in the fridge. It comes in all different colors and different types of flowers. I was specifically looking for a haku made with orchids and they had one available that afternoon. The haku was $25 and it still looked fresh on the 2nd day of wearing it. This was an excellent gift and the haku looked amazing in the photos. For parking, you can pull up on the side of the curb and quickly run in, buy your lei, haku, or flowers and come back out. The street parking in Chinatown is always full and I rarely find metered parking. If you plan to do a lot of shopping in Chinatown, I suggest parking in the Cultural Plaza parking lot or one of the Chinatown municipal parking lots. read more

I went to get a haku lei for a funeral last minute and this place was the only place that got what i wanted so i had no choice but to get it. Service was not great. I wasn't allowed to open the fridge to look at the haku leis. You had to just pick by pointing and he gives it to you. The haku was for the same day and I got it in the morning and put it in my fridge but by the evening service it was all dried and dying. I am hot sure if it was fresh like he said. The haku lei was 35 dollars and it did look good but value wasn't great. It didn't last long. read more

My daughter told me (late last night) that she really wanted a white lei po'o for her birthday (today); I wasn't sure if I would be able to find one with such short notice. I got all of my leis from Lina's Lei and Flower shop and they've always provided excellent customer service and had beautiful flowers at a reasonable price so I crossed my fingers and stopped by on my way home. To my absolute surprise, they had a beautiful white rose with tuber rose and baby's breath lei po'o for only $35.00! I couldn't believe my luck! Bringing a lei (flower garland) to the mainland... A lei is a special gift of Aloha. The custom is to place the lei around the recipient's neck with a kiss and/or at least a hug. Nowadays, some people want to be politically correct and refrain from physical contact...Haha! Just toss it over the person's head! LOL! Either way, a lei is a symbol of friendship, Congratulations, and any occassion you choose to celebrate! I wanted to find a lei with a pink theme... one that would last a few days. My search up and down Maunakea Street in Honolulu's Chinatown led me to Lina's. This is an open air shop with refrigerators lining the wall on the right. The female worker greeted me and asked what kind of lei I wanted. She pointed out a spiral design that had pale pink petals intertwined with dark purple and white for a striking contrast. She reassured me that this lei could last up to a week! She was right! I hand carried it on the airplane, stored it in a refrigerator for about 12 hours, and presented it with no hesitation! I even refrigerated it again by wrapping it in the paper that it arrived in, spraying some water on the paper, and wrapping it in the plastic bag! It looked fine the next day, too! I'm really glad that I purchased this lei. The colors were perfect and the lei was hearty! I'll return because this employee knew her product, handled the flowers with care, and displayed them in a very attractive fashion! Note: I wasn't allowed to take photos of the floral designs. I like this lei shop because of the fair prices, selection and parking. There is usually one spot "loading zone" right in front of her shop. And if not right across the street. However be aware. Do not open the glass refrigerator doors. Look through the glass. She is all weird about people standing with the refrigerator door open. She's turns all cranky and she has no manners or tack about it. She is awful. It's like a switch flips. She really needs to either get new refrigerator or quit SNAPPING at people and learn a better way to express herself. Went to Lina's today to look for a lei for May Day. Immediately upon entering she came up behind me clapped her hands loudly, startled me and said "you don't buy anything, you just come to look and no buy. Go already. Go away". She kept repeating herself. I thought she was joking because she knows me and I have bought ALOT from her over the years, even custom orders. I can pull my debit and credit transactions over the years! I even bought last week for Merrie Monarch (from her husband) and my husband bought $125 of lei last week as well for a work event! But I realized she wasn't joking, so I said "I come to look at the selection at every shop on maunakea, sometimes you don't have what I'm looking for, but I still come in to see what you have incase there's something I want". She repeated again to leave cause I don't buy anything and was physically in my space trying to push me toward the exit. Mind you I had business attire on and, again, have bought MANY lei here over the years, my kids end of the year lei for classmates, Mother's Day, my birthday, performances, etc. I have never been treated so rudely by an establishment that I actually liked and supported! But now I will NEVER purchase from this dump again, neither will my husband, friends, family and I will make sure to tell everyone how ungrateful, rude, disrespectful and unappreciative this place is. Considering I loved coming to this Lei stand because of the prices , I will no longer be coming here due to one reason only, the RUDE obnoxious older lady who works there. I went in, looked through the Refrigerator glass for Lei's and was so zoned out in looking at the Lei that I did not see the obvious sign that says Do not Open Refrigerator. Lady starts yelling at me and I apologized as it was totally my fault for not noticing the sign. After apologizing numerous times, Lady continues to yell and says "How did you not see the sign, it's right there!" Mind you, she was also on the phone while yelling and a customer waiting to pay. I than decided to take my business elsewhere because this level of utter disregard for customers is uncalled for. Go elsewhere if you don't want to encounter bad service!! Although the pandemic has caused many companies to close, I am SO happy to know that Lina's Lei & Flowers is still open...thank God! I think this floral shop continues business during the Covid-19 Pandemic because the son and mom tag team has blessed many people from around the island. The son and mom are kind hearted towards their customers . I am one of their customer and i will continue to support their business. I stopped at the floral shop to pick up a floral arrangement for my sister who had open heart surgery and what a blessing to have an arrangement perfect to cheer her up. I know Chinatown is hard on parking especially if you're in and out for a Lei, there is a paid parking lot right across the street from them, or if you're lucky, you just might get a spot right in front of her shop. Customer service is on point. They're very helpful, even in between customers. We were on a last minute run and in search of a few leis and mainly a actual Maile lei, and this is the spot! And at a great price too - $40! Scored a couple tileaf maile leis for $5 and a couple others for $10/$12. Such great pricing. Compared to a few other spots I checked out. read more

Came in recently on a Saturday to purchase a bunch of single strand orchid lei. Was able to choose colors and the leis were nice and stayed fresh. (Put them in the fridge when we got home). Also picked up an orchid bunch too. The guy that was there was very helpful and friendly. Someone else came in while I was there and he was able to answer her questions about what would last. I walked over from my job on my lunch hour, the sale associate was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and patient with me also assisting me in choices. Yesterday, I purchased a haku lei along with 3 others for a concert. The 3 were fine. But the haku smelled rotten! Something was definitely wrong with it. I've purchased from them before and never had a problem till now. I just called them to let them know and the man with a heavy accent refused to acknowledge there was a problem. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS! There are a lot of other lei vendors in the area to choose from. I will NEVER buy from them again! They are the first flower shop on the right when you're on Beretania St. turning left on to Maunakea Street. If I could give them less that 1 star. I would! read more

This has to be one of my most recent favorite lei shops in the Chinatown area. These guys are in a super convenient easy to spot location. My latest visit and purchase from this stand was Valentine's Day 2019. I was specifically looking for blue roses and out of 5-6 lei stand shops that I was walking around throughout the whole block of lei stands, Lina's lei and flowers had!!! They were only $4 along with other single roses. Anyways they are conveniently located on Maunakea St. right at the corner of S. Beretania. I think they should be the first lei stand spot when you enter through the Chinatown on Maunakea. They also have another nice assortments of leis and flowers for any occasion. The staff and customer service is good. Will be coming back often and suggest this place for other color roses! read more

We ended up here after we discovered another shop we usually go to closed down and now we come here for all our haku lei needs! There are many other flower shops to choose from in the area but this is the cheapest shop with the best quality. 4 stars because parking sucks as do many places in town. Better stuff than the majority of floral shops on Beretania between Smith and Maunakea. Mixed flowers for dead relative's gravesite, many colors but none artificial, pretty and a little priced high, but worth it, $8. Not the usual bunch of red ginger or anthuriums or carnations. Tuberose stalks for my friend's house, which she loved, $2 a stalk, SCORE! They also had stalks of white ginger, delicate and orchidlike, near the red ones. SO GOOD. I bought 63 orchids for my mom's birthday and all orchids lost their buds within 2 days and then all of them died within 5 days. Really disappointing. My guess is that they were chilled too much to stay fresh longer but they were actually very old, although I am not an expert; all i know for sure is that I always buy her orchids and they last almost a full month!
