A very traditional osteria serving classic northern Italian preparations. We sat in the garden area which I highly recommend as it's more intimate and inviting. We started with the mixed salumi and formagio plate which came with prosciutto, truffled mortadella, soppresatta, coppa, two types of cheese and giardiniera along with freshly baked bread. It was more than enough for 4 and very reasonably priced. We split a spaghetti with bottarga while our friends had the seafood risotto. Both were very good. This was accompanied by a nice bottle of Pio Ceasare Barbera. For my secondi I had the traditional osso buco which was very tender and served with a rich Espangole sauce. For dessert we split the zabaglione which was the only item that was outstanding as it seemed to gave been sitting. You can't beat the ambiance. The outdoor back patio is wonderfully decorated and very comfortable, even on a brisk winter evening because of the many heat lamps. The ceiling is made of vines and twinkling lights which gives a great "secret garden" vibe. The service was good, they were trying hard, a mishap with plates, a few long pauses after menu or food requests, but overall was acceptable. We ordered the artichoke salad and the mushroom tagliolini. Would not recommend the artichoke salad but enjoyed the tagliolini. We also ordered the sea bass fillet ( needed salt) and the steak (which was very good). We finished our meal with the crème brûlée which was perfectly creamy. There was one odd thing here about the bathrooms. They were basically co-ed bathrooms with some urinals completely exposed with no privacy. Just something to be aware of before opening the door. Very glad we dined here. There were a couple of food items that could have been a bit better, but overall, this was a very good meal. read more

As an Italian, this place is completely just a tourist attraction spot. The food is dry and tasteless. I've had so much better in other places. I had a tasteless cotoletta which I had to drench in lemon and salt for it to have flavor. The cacio e pepe had barely any cacio and tasted like dry pasta. The fish seemed microwaved and had the texture of a rock. Personally, I do not recommend this place. read more

Tonight was a magical night. Our three servers were incredible and we had great fun. The Ossobucco with Risotto, Tagliatelle with Bolognese and Rigatoni and black pepper and bacon were amazing. We topped it off with crème brûlée, tiramisu and magical chocolate cake. A bottle of wine and a few shots of Limoncello made for a great meal. Wish we lived here! read more

We got into Milan around 6 and managed to get a table (clearly popular place - and I see why). Salad was just perfect- great mix of lettuces, root vegetables, tomatoes, and such, all incredibly fresh and tasty, and just the right size. Saffron risotto was also perfect- didn't overdo it on seasoning or salt, rice just the slightest bit crunchy. Fish was also great, and teen kids loved their pastas. For our last meal in Milan, we went to Cavallini. Restaurant was a 10 minute cab ride from the Park Hyatt. Once we got there, we checked in our coats, and were seated in a few minutes. Restaurant is set up in sections. there is a reception area as you walk in.. with seating to the left and right. the main dining space is a few steps up (to the left as you enter)... then through that space is the walk through kitchen (main kitchen in on the right and there is a seafood prep area to the left... at the rear of the restaurant is a more casual dining area with a tv or two - i assume for watching football :) We were seated in the main dining area... a good sign was that almost all of the restaurant was full on a sunday night.. with locals and some tourists. We ordered some wine and the food... I had been dying to have some risotto, and it was great. Cooked well, and a nice saffron flavour. it was a great way to start the meal. Then for the main course, we ordered the pasta with meat sauce, and the chicken Milanese (usually it is made with veal, however they were able to substitute chicken for me). The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the portion was perfect. The chicken was also very good, and came with some arugula salad. On the service side, our waiter seemed to be too busy, and was just not paying attention to our table. However there was another server who was helping, and she was great. Without her, the meal would have just been some food. Food and decor were wait. Service is friendly, however "european" in nature... be patient, and you just have to allow for a lot of time to enjoy your meal. read more

Googled this place as I was looking for a place to eat while I was in Milan. Took a nice 20 minute walk there from my AirBnb. I guess it was a slow night, because besides my guest and I there were only two other people dining. I've been hearing so much about fois gras, I was excited to see they had it on the menu. I am so surprised this restaurant has not been reviewed. First let me say that this restaurant has an auspicious future. I got the osso bucco and it was one of the best I've ever had. This is one of my favorite meals back in the states and this just was amazing. My wife had the pasta with pesto, potatoes, and green beans. I tried a bite of hers and that was delicious too. Fresh pasta for sure. We did enjoy the apple pie and ice cream for dessert. The apple pie was more like a muffin, but it was still good to go. If I were staying in Milan for a week, I'd be coming back middle of the week for sure. I hope other yelpers enjoy this as much as we did. read more

This place was truly a treat. We sat out back on the patio for dinner. They welcome you with a nice cold dry glass of pink Prosecco and assorted breads. The service is top notch and so is the food. We split the Branzino de Nacionale as our starter, then I had the Osso Bucco with truffled "mushed" potatoes. Perfecto!!! The Mrs. had the tagliatelle ragu. We chose this restaurant based on Yelp reviews. We arrived at 9 pm and the place was full of locals. We were able to have a nice table in the main dining area. The menu was classic Italian. Delicious Milanese saffron risotto as a starter. I had ossobucco and my date had shrimp and prawns. While delicious I don't think the shrimp and prawns were a lot of food. The ossobucco was absolutely delicious as was the saffron risotto. The service was great with a drink waiter and a head waiter. The limoncello offered at the end of the meal is free. My one not complaint is that they bring champagne at the start of the meal which I did not ask for. I assume that means free but it does not. Turns out he champagne is 3 euros per small glass. Deny that If you don't want to pay. Overall a great experience and highly recommended. read more

A fancy restaurant close to the main station ! We came here because the hotel recommended it. He said it would be an experience. And it was !! It is a more upscale place. People are very well dressed (more fancy). The interior is classy. I felt a bit uncomfortable in this place because I didn't know it would be so posh. If you know this, then the place is really fine. The only thing what really bothered me, was that you can smoke in this restaurant. They do have a non smoking part (kinda smaller and more boring) but they did't even asked us when we made the reservation if that was fine. The food was really really good, what you expect from a good italian restaurant. The service was also very good and the wine choice was great (and also the wine recommendation). I wouldn't go back here because it is not really my style. But if you wanna experience a true italian dinner, then this is the place to be. read more

Came here at opening (7pm) based on good reviews and being within a few blocks of my hotel (Berna). This is a very nice white tablecloth restaurant. I was given a complimentary glass of Prosecco. I ordered the Buffalo Mozzarella and grilled vegetables antipasto (12 euro) which was half a baseball size of fresh, wonderful mozzarella sliced and stacked with grilled vegetables. It was delicious and the presentation was top notch. The complimentary bread was varied and delicious. I skipped the primati and ordered the black-peppered rib eye steak on the bone secondi (25 euros), with a glass of the house red wine (6 euros) and bottle of sparkling water (3 euros). The steak was cooked perfectly and probably 14 oz in size- tender, good sear. It came with grilled potatoes. I had as espresso after my meal and they provided TWO complimentary shots of almost frozen limoncello, which was the best tasting after dinner liquor I have ever had (even offered a 3rd, which I refused). Total bill came to 53 euros. This was one of the best dinners I had on my 15 day trip in Italy. They also have typical Milanese items on the menu like Veal Ossobuco (although it is on mashed potatoes with truffles, rather than the typical saffron risotto) and Cotoletta ala Milanese (breaded veal cutlet) but I avoided since I am on a low-carb (keto) diet. Came here based on the Yelpers recommendation. It is a relatively large place because of a fairly large dining area in the back. I arrived at 8 on Saturday to an empty restaurant By the time I left it was 3/4 full. For dinner, I had the linguini with lobster which came served with a full lobster tail, the Osso Buco was very tender with good flavor but not off the hook fabulous. They do have half bottles of wine and their Borolo is very good . I would definitely return but would say it is not in the top 10 percent of the restaurants I have experienced. read more
