Bucatini, a must-order blast of flavor
    Emery W.

My friends and I saw this restaurant on Gwyneth Paltrow's list of Rome favorites, and it did not disappoint! Our waiter was attentive and picked us out a few bottles of delicious (and more importantly, inexpensive) wine for us to share. Shelves of wine bottles adorn the brick walls inside the restaurant, and the staff selects your bottle right in front of you. The food was next level. Truffle croquettes were freshly fried, and the authentic pasta dishes were insanely tasty (heavy hand of salt may have had something to do with it). My veal meatballs served with mushrooms were tender and flavorful, but the pasta was actually better. I definitely recommend this restaurant, especially if you score a table outdoors.

This is our 3 rd time coming here. Excellent food and service. We came here with friends and the place is very consistent with quality of food and service

Very popular with those in the clerical state, thus a bachelorette party that wants to challenge a vocation or two might enjoy it here (actually, don't do that). But you could seriously run into your favourite Cardinal! Who knows! Food was great - so much variety - low carb, high carb options, it's all good! Helpful guidance from the waiters, who speak English. There's an antipasto and vegetable buffet which you can have the waiters plate for you if you don't want to risk drawing unnecessary attention to yourself.

    Great food and service!

Best meal we had while in Rome! Try the fettuccine with meatballs. It was delicious. Excellent service and nice wine list. Beautiful outdoor seating area. You should try it!

Excellent traditional Italian neighborhood restaurant with classic pastas and pizza. Good house wine. Lively patio dining atmosphere away from the tourist areas. Kind and accommodating staff with active owner present. Fair prices.

    Funghi pizza, house Chianti

We walked here our first night in Rome. They sat us at a table outside and the weather was perfect. We ordered the funghi pizza and prosciutto and mozzarella calzone, salads and Chianti - all excellent. The house Chianti was a great value. I will be dreaming of that pizza when I am back home. The pizza had a crispy, light crust, fresh tomato sauce, fresh mushrooms and the perfect amount of cheese. The staff was attentive and friendly. Overall a great experience!

    Homemade Lasagna!

So I'm in Roma with some friends, and we're killing the restaurant scene. In the seven days we have been here, this was by far the best - by far. I ordered the traditional Sunday dinner for Italian's - lasagna. Oh, did I mention that the lasagna is a homemade house special? It is. My lasagna was accompanied with a Caesar salad, and a glass of Ludola Nuova 2012 Ruffino. Lasagna - I have never had a better lasagna. The Caesar salad was amazingly on point as well. Tiaramisu was the best I've had. To wrap this up... My friend ordered the Amaretto Simifreddo. I was jealous after I tasted it. We had 8 people at the table, and no one could get enough... I don't normally review, but this place made me want to!!! If you want to eat well - this is your place!

    Eggplant Parmesan

Beautiful restaurant with wonderful outdoor seating. The string lights and tents create a romantic ambiance that would be perfect for a date night. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan, the caprese salad, and the Caesar salad. The eggplant dish was my highlight, perhaps because of its elegance and simplicity. It had grilled slices with tomato sauce, olive oil, and mozzarella - absolutely delicious. The caprese salad was good, but nothing special. I did not enjoy the Caesar salad, and I would recommend going with a lighter pasta instead if you are feeling health conscious. The penne arrabiata had high reviews from my friends. Overall we enjoyed dining at Trattoria Polese and would return again.

One of the best Carbonara's in Rome!

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Would definitely return.

This shop is more of a countertop order from their limited menu but the menu is executed so well you'll be tempted to order multiple bowls. There are a few stools and table out front to enjoy your food hot. Both times I've been on separate visits within two years, has only shown me how consistent their food and quality is. You can pair your dishes with an aperol spritz or mini bottle of wine for less than five euros. The pasta was about nine to eleven euros and the portions were more than plenty. The chef and owner are super nice and very informative about their dishes. If you are a fan of spice you have to try their chef-recommended dish. They had one dish topped with pancetta and I just about wanted to lick my bowl clean. Everyone in the group was raving how delicious it was. Egg will forever be on my must-have when visiting Rome.
