The communication here is terrible. Many emails went unanswered. I had to clean the place before I could move in. My ex husband had to come clean the air conditioner that "they" supplied. The stove was an old coil burner stove that was rusting. There was mold at the caulking on the kitchen sink. I tried to remove but to no avail. I lived with it for one year. I cleaned the place before I left. I scrubbed the toilet and the tub. They just charged me $255 to clean. Do not rent from them. I wish I would have listened to those who told me not to do it. I even left all the blinds in the windows that I had bought and had cut to fit those windows!!! Terrible experience. They will find any reason to keep any part of your security deposit. read more

Terrible property management company. When I moved in the was not cleaned there was weeds all on the outside. I had to clean up and beg them to pick up 11 garbage bags full of weeds. It took them about a month. I found a hypodermic in a bottle in the closet a diaphragm in a bag in the bathroom cabinet. mold on the bathroom floor. And the floor was sinking in the kitchen from a leak in the roof. When I moved out, I held up the agreement in the rental contract to get the carpets professionally cleaned and turned in the receipt. They deducted $145 from my security deposit stating that they had to clean my apartment. That was never in my rental agreement. When I left the place I took and photos of how clean it was. Absolutely TERRIBLE company. the only decent person is their receptionist/ secretary. the realtor I dealt with was not well-informed and was quite rude to my other half the entire process. basically promised us a place and went and almost gave it to someone else when we tried to drop off the security deposit. ZERP professionalism. after moving in, trash was left and the apartment, fan didn't work, and a whole laundry list of other issues were discovered. after contacting them, we all but were told to screw off. all requests were cancelled with no information as to why. our neighbor stand by the saying of them being slumlords like another said. we were told we would get to see the pictures taken documenting issues in their inspection and were never provided such. read more

They deserve no stars. A fews years ago, I would have given them 4 or 5 stars. Ever since a specific employee left(quit), things have gotten increasingly worse. They NEVER return calls to tenants. They don't care about the problem with the property they're "managing." Hanging up on a tenant(who was not using foul language or raising their voice) should never be the answer. Too scared of retaliation to contact property owner. Avoid this business at all costs! read more

For five years Antietam Realty has provided property management for our home in Chambersburg exceptionally! They found excellent tenants. They paid consistently. Their fees were low. They communicated very effectively. We have been so pleased with them that it only made sense to have Antietam Realty also sell our house for us! Every interaction has been positive! Actually they deserve NO stars! Complete SLUMLORDS!!!! I lived in my apartment 17yrs before Antietam became the property managers and in just 6 months their lack of care for my home and my needs pushed me out of the home i loved. NO repairs were done despite me requesting in writing twice, verbally, numerous times! Let me live with mold, a hole in my ceiling, water damage, damaged floors, bathroom issues, and other issues. They were quick to collect their rent but never made a single repair the entire time they managed the property! Horrible experience took our application and check tells us we are approved then tells us the owner supposedly no longer wishes to rent the house. Don't you think you should check that before showing the property? This is a property under their management already so you would think they would be on top of that. She meets us a few days later at a restaurant to show us another house and forgets who we are completely. Walked up to another lady and then sees us and says are you so and so? We are like yes you met us a few days ago?? She knew nothing about either house she showed us. Told us we could look it up. Ummm what do we or any property owner need you for then?? She still forgets who we are while showing the second house. She has an approved application for a couple with great income, great references and background check and she forgets who we are in a matter of a few days. She starts her fill out an application speech. When we remind her that we have been approved for any house they have and she has our application she becomes rude and angry and rushes us off the property. I called and left a voicemail for the manager. I don't expect a call back. We are using another company to find a home. read more

I first contacted this company in November 2009 when my family was on a week long house hunting trip. After searching MLS listings, our realtor suggested contacting them if we didn't find a property we liked. I called and left a message which was returned 3 days later. We didn't use them! I contacted them again in August 2010 due to our lease was ending & we needed to give an exact move out date. I went to their office on a Thursday (I did try calling again!). I was told she could show 2 places to me on Saturday when SHE was in the area. We viewed it with another family & had to listen to their comments and it wasn't a very professional experience. I asked about the second property and was told, "Oh if I had known I would have had you meet there. We just came from that property!" We put in our application and almost 2 weeks later...no answer. So if you don't have a month or two to need a place this company may be fine to use. If you are in a time crunch...go elsewhere. read more
