Unfriendly, bad communication, never offered med rebate even though they say NOW they offer it. Doesn't greet or speak to the dogs. When trying to find the correct answer about my dogs' medication I am labeled "difficult." Plus, in the MEDICAL records there was a bunch of garbage about ME so there was a very real possibility that another veterinarian would take on my dogs as patients. In an area sorely in need of not just good vetinarians but vets period this would've been a huge hardship for me and the dogs. Very disappointing. Also, prejudiced against the elderly, those struggling financially and the disabled (Severe Clinical Depression, Severe Anxiety, short term memory loss from 2 strokes). read more

Dr Sara and her staff have always been very caring with my pets, respectfully listened to me, offered up various options for care, and made me feel that I was the final decision maker without any judgment from them. They are often very busy and it can be a challenge getting a message to them, but do their best to get back to me as soon as they are able and provide me with what I need for my beloved furred ones. we have been dealing with that clinic for 24 years, first with our dog. it was under different ownership then, now we have 2 cats we have been taking every year for 11 years had their teeth pulled and all kinds of problems. now both of our cats are sick. one had to be put to sleep, but I had to take her to spring brook, she was so sick and antigo vet would not look at her in an emergency on a Monday. they say they have emergency services on weekdays,... I am so mad but we have to deal with them right now because we have another sick cat that they are treating. but when it is time for, kitty kat my other cat, to die I will take her to the spring brook because you have to make an appt. for a dying pet at antigo vet. how can you do that if you can't get an appt. and no one gets back to you when you call. and when we get another pet I won't deal with antigo vet. thanks for listening..... after they read this they might not take care of the pet I have. p.s. another thing I would like to say is dr, sarah is a kind caring dr. but the people at the front desk said policies say you have to have an appointment. and I couldn't get an appointment unless you call at 8:15 in the morning every morning until they have an opening. so I called Monday no opening I guess. told me to call tuesday. my cat was almost dead and suffering I wanted her to be put to sleep, ASAP. read more

Anybody who goes to Antigo Veterinary Clinic or if you're thinking about it DON'T! MY CATS HAVE ALL BEEN SICK FOR 3 MONTHS SINCE WE RESCUED AN ABANDONED KITTEN THAT CAME TO OUR DOOR. 3 months later and treatment entire 3 months and over $2000 later they don't know what it is. Even after seeing all 3 cats and all have conjunctivitis in both eyes caused by virus or bacteria. I've been in healthcare if it was a virus it wouldn't sort of get better with meds and then when meds stop get worse, so definitely bacteria. Also they ran $351 test which came up negative so that narrows causes. And instead of running more tests they are just throwing different antibiotics and eye drops without a diagnosis. I've been torturing these poor cats every night for 3 months and they don't understand why. And every time they say they will call me they don't had to wait THREE WEEKS for expensive test to come back which understandable lab trying to grow fungus but VET DIDN'T CALL WITH RESULTS I GOT THEM WHEN I HAD TO TAKE MY MIDDLE CHILD FURBALL, AERYS IN ABOUT EYES SO NATURALLY GOT UPSET. NOW THEY HAVE SEEN EVERY ONE OF THESE CATS BUT NEARLY EVERY TIME HAD TO MAKE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT MY HUSBAND'S AND MY POCKETS GETTING PRETTY LIGHT AND IT WASN'T UNTIL 4TH TIME WITH MEDS THAT I WAS TOLD SCRIPTS CAN BE SENT TO WALGREEN'S. 1 BOTTLE OF LAST EYE DROPS $68 THROUGH WALGREEN'S WITH GOOD RX $7.29. Back to today took little one in again and now they think food allergies or something which is insane because other cats get same food and they have the same sickness only a little lesser because they have had vaccines and revolution plus for years. So because I made sure I was going to get call back this time and supposedly had an attitude and it was a new vet tech who evidently needs a pacifier and a bottle and they discontinued all cats care. Now you work in healthcare with pets or people grow a pair because if hospital stopped treatment everytime a mom or family member got upset they wouldn't be in business. I know I can be nasty when it comes to my children furbabies included but what mom wouldn't? However, this time I had every right. Especially when trying to get emergency care and I would call exactly at 8:15 and the 3 spots were full. Now going back to Wausau Animal Hospital who agreed I had every right to be upset. Only left cause we moved and now have to go 35min instead of 15min but hopefully my babies will get treated better and get the help they need read more

The BEST place to bring your furbabies! I have taken 3 cats 3 dogs to Doc Sarah! I had to put my older Mainecoon down and my senior chihuahua Scooby down and they were absolutely amazing and kind. I would HIGHLY recommend them. And trust me I am a very selective furbaby mom! read more

Doctor Sarah was compassionate and seen us on Saturday. She and her assistant diagnosed the problem quickly and after explaining how we needed to treat it we were sent home to take care of our pup. Antigo Veterinary Clinic - Waiting to see Dr Sarah. - Veterinarians Near Me - Antigo, Wisconsin

On November 1st, 2019 I took Gizmo for the first time to Antigo Veterinary Clinic due to his skin allergies which were coming and going in past 2 years and had been treated in Austin, TX where we lived for past 3years. Short on money due work circumstences I was willing to pay $326 for this visit just to help Gizmo with his skin allergies. The same visit in Austin, TX cost $260?!!! (Austin population is 1 million, Antigo population is 8 thousands). Gizmo had his medication and I was happy his is not scraching anymore, the same time I went and purchase $10 shoes for Wisconsin Cold Winter. Nothing to shame about in my opinion. Sometimes later I noticed small Bump on his butt, and after observing it for sometime and seeing that it doesnt go away, I scheduled another visit on March 23, 2020 and this time I was seen by dr Sara owner of the clinic. After 5-10 minutes of phisical examination she informed that Gizmo has some kind of the cancer(I dont remember medical name for it). I went to shock and I said that in this case I would like to remove the bump from his butt. Next, the nurse(?) came and gave me 2-pages print of surgery cost $1500. I was expecting maybe $500 for bump removal not $1500 and I explained to the nurse(?) that I dont have $1500 right away. Then, because I was already there I ASKED FOR WELLNESS PANEL OF ALL ORGANS mostly because with dr Sara information about Gizmo cancer, my concern was about his organs properly functioning. ( I am not first time pet owner, and In fact I had a dog with cancer before which by the way was treated by my ANCLE, which so happend was VET DOCTOR and extended my dog live). Next, blood sample was taken and send to another state for testing, so, now after Gizmo death I am thinking, how dr Sara knew that Gizmo had cancer based on phisical exam???????? and no blood results present in the time of the visit?????. Antigo Clinic send me home with instruction to buy Antibiotic Ointement for his butt (hand writen instruction on 2-pages print for butt surgery). I came home and started ointement and alkohol treatment. After a week of treatment bump open up and yellowish-greenish substance came out. WHAT KIND OF CANCER IS IT???????? For me it is infection!!!!! We cleaned with ointement and alkohol and bump completly disapear. Gizmo was fine. It is true Gizmo had small(2-3) heart murmur diagnosted in Austin, TX but I was told that it is minor and with his heart murmur he went under surgery to remove his 4 teeth and teeth cleaning. Because, I dont received any call from Antigo Clinic regarding Gizmo's Wellness Panel, I asked my husband to call them and check up reaults. He was told by someone that everything is ok, just small liver infection, nothing to worry about. So, I did not worry and Gizmo was full of energy like always. On May 4, 2020 I stopped by Antigo Clinic because I run out of Medicated Shampoo for Gizmo's skin allergies and I ask for Wellness Blood Panel copy. After caming back home, I noticed that 11 are high, high above higest norm. I am not proficient in medical field so, I went on internet to find out what it is. I found that all of them pointing out to infections. I had Wellness Panel copy 2 months after blood tests and Gizmo did not show that something is wrong. On May 29, 2020 I took Gizmo and Kuki for vaccination and Gizmo got his Allergy CAD SHOT again. She mostly talk about Kuki's skin warts. Then came August and in the end of this month Gizmo started slowing down, mostly lay and did not seem right. First, I thought is due to humid weather but when he started vomiting blood and had tar like black diarrhea I thought he got to garbage outside. I sent email and picture to dr Sara asking for another visit. I ASK IN THIS E-MAIL FOR STOOL BLOOD TEST AND PARASIDES. I drove 35 min one way just to drop poo for testing and talk to Melissa. She could not find price for Bloody Stool and told me she will find it later. Next day, I drove again for appointment. I still had difficulties with money but was happy to pay $356 just to get his medication on. She mentioned about abdominal ultrasoud and ofcourse I agree but mentioned that due to money difficulties I just cant spend $600-700 in one visit. I said I will have it in 2 weeks and I will come back to do abdominal ultrasound. They scheduled me for begining of October. I was send with Metranizadole and bunch of other medication for his abdominal treatment. Again, I did not received any call about test results so, I drove to Anitigo Clinic to pick up copy. No Blood in the stool was done. After 2-3 days he came back to old himself. read more

They are very knowledgable and have studied up on alternative therapies. I trust them to provide excellent care and honest answers. They are quick to follow up on phone and email inquiries regarding my dog's health. The facility is pretty state of the art and includes laser therapy.
