You know that antique/junk spot on Telegraph, the one with the old timey pickup truck in the front? I finally went in, and it's a treasure trove. First off it's cash only and he takes Zelle. Second, definitely negotiate. Lastly, if you like picking for stuff, you can find something. It's a lot of junk, but treasure is in the eye of the beholder, especially if you like tsotchkes. I ended up with a hand painted wooden duck decoy from 1981. It's def someone who randomly painted one, and not a priceless artifact, but I'm ok with that. I also ended up getting an old framed small print of a poem, and a vintage Thomas Stanley travel alarm clock that's currently not working, hopefully due to an old battery, but if it's up and running, I saw them on Etsy for $50. All three treasures for the price of $15! Overall, a gem of a store if you are nearby and have a few minutes to explore. read more

This place is wonderful!! The kind of place you don't see in most cities anymore. The Antiques Center was established, I think in the late 40s many wonderful finds inside. If you don't find anything when you go come back in a couple days and it all changes. James tells me he picks up what remains after estate sales. I have donated many items to him because he's a very deserving businessman. He takes care of his mother and continues the legacy. his father started. 2 doors towards Berkeley is the oldest Gay bar in the Eastbay, called the Whitehorse. After leaving the Antique Center stop by and have a beer. The atmosphere is very chill people are always friendly. read more

The store hours are Monday to Sunday 11a .m. To 5:00 p.m. It is a good idea to call and see if they are there. They could be out on a call or delivery. So many treasures to discover at this store. Lots of items and some beautiful furniture and unique things ; however there is a lot of junky stuff in the way of the good stuff. I think the owners would have better sales if they cleaned out the junk and nicely organized the more valuable items. read more

While here, a 40+ year old man wandered in as I squatted in front of a shelf, playing with some old, old phones that were made out of metal and each weighed at least 10lb. they don't make them like these anymore. if that girl in Scream was on one of these phones at the beginning of the movie, she could have bashed the masked dude across the head. skull would collapse and the movie would have ended after the first five minutes. But anyway, kindred spirits bond quickly and small talk ensued. He told me this is the type of antique shops he used to go with his dad when he was a kid, and I believed it. This is not a place where everything's neatly displayed with a high price tag. You have to dig for what you find here, and though there's really nothing you need, there's plenty that you'd want. This was a nice antique store to browse around... they have beautiful light fixtures ...gorgeous tribal rugs ranging from $200 and up depending on the size and random furniture in the front... not a lot of space to move around inside so you have to be careful ... I did not see anything I wanted to buy here but it was an interesting store and the owner was very helpful and nice ... read more

Pamela the owner is the sweetest! I bought a love seat but couldn't find someone with a vehicle large enough to bring it home until 3 days later and she held it for me. I went back a little bit after that and found a chair that matched my new couch perfectly, but once again couldn't figure out how I'd get it home. Pamela went out of her way and found some bungee cords for me to use and I was able to strap it to my trunk. Oh and the prices are ridiculously great too! read more

You know that old 2-story on Telegraph where there's always a bunch of stuff piled out front? And there used to be an old white van with toys hanging on it? That's the place. Ah, the Antique Center. Part antique shop, part rummage sale, and part hauling service, this is a unique establishment. I love this place for the eclectic selection, the good deals, the informal ambiance, and the groovy owner James. He's a friendly, funny guy who will buy, sell, and trade antiques + other vintage stuff. If you like to dig through random boxes, this place is heaven. Also if you don't mind making minor repairs, you can find a lot of good, functional furniture for cheap. As the re-use ethic becomes more common, I think places like this will grow in popularity. You can get what you need, without running up your credit cards! Be aware that parking can be a little challenging, the owner can be hard to find at times, at it's cash only. read more

This place is amazing, I found an antique Edison furniture solid wood console table for $25, and the owner dropped it off for me! Needs refinishing but once it's done it could be worth hundreds. Lots of great smaller finds too - lamps, books, replacement furniture parts, etc. I could spend days rummaging around in there. read more

Lots of low hanging fruit for the opportunistic junker. I saw an old taxidermy bobcat or something guarding a victorian bar in front of a mission oak rocker with a box of vinyl records in the seat next to a danish chair in front of a pinball machine under a chrome chandelier next to a camping stove with a 60 lb vice on it and a bag of old legos and a box of chemistry flasks... and a pile of 100 year old clinker bricks which were apparently the foundation of this place last month... read more

Bring a pair of gloves and wear long sleves. Be ready to get on all fours and dig. A flashlight would not be a bad idea. Dealers go here to find parts for broken tables, chairs, ect. This was my first visit here and not exactly what I was expecting, but exactly as it was described by others. Funny how your mind can read one thing and visualize something completely different. The front red house is the actual store. Around the back of the house are several old barns with hundreds of boxes of "Stuff". In one section you could grab a moving size box and fill it with as much as you could carry and it was only $5.00 for everything. This place is not for the faint of heart though. I give it four stars because its dirty and you can smell rodent droppings and urine in the outside barns, but hey, this is a serious place for serious hunters!!! read more

If the backyard is open, it's worth the extra time you spend back there. They have beautiful cars back there that are museum quality.

A treasure trove for any professional or want to be interior decorator. There is so much to browse through. This and that and things you want to find a need for. The prices are very reasonable and because they are fair there is a lot of turn over and always something new.The owners are Pamela and her son James. Pamela is a real Lady. The kind one doesn't find very often any more. James her son is always working around the property an restocking the merchandise. He is very agreeable to deliver for a fair price.
