While walking along the Marietta stores, we decided to take a look at this interesting looking antiques store. While checking out the vinyls, one tall older man gave us gestures to put the vinyls back into their original position (as if we're idiots and don't know how to properly conduct ourselves). Nice selection of records, books, jewelry and other interesting things. Quality is good and consistent, but their prices can be a bit high, so I would do your research and be sure the price is competitive. Good place for gifts. I usually stop by every time I visit Marietta and find something! read more

The usual. I typically don't go in " antique" shops any more because 9 time out of 10 times it's just old cast off. That's the case here but, now I know I didn't miss any choice Georgia treasure's. read more

They've always got interesting stuff. It's all clean, it works, and is curated nicely. But Christ on a bike, the employees are the snippiest bunch of arrogant twits I've ever met. I've been coming here since I was a kid and they've always been rude, so I guess some things never change. read more

The people who work there are very kind, it is a little bit on the high end for records but not so much where I didn't want to buy. They had a lot of areas for records which was amazing! Definitely a great place to read more

Why is this the first time I heard of this place and they've been open for 27 years + :-0 I thought I knew everything and anything about the square so here goes: The thing that caught my eye was the record collection out front . I love Music so naturally I didn't stop with what was outside, I had to go in and investigate. This is where things got a little confusing , antiques are kinda factored into the situation but I honestly thought I was in a record store by the abundance of Vinyl!!!!! I though record stores were extinct (Rest In Peace Tower Records), so I had to approach the owner and get more information. Me: Where did you get all of this Vinyl??? Owner: Anywhere I could. Go to the Back! So as instructed, I go to the back. Tapes, Records, more records, more tapes. I mean it's a music lovers dream. I start looking at everything and I'm sure I probably looked suspect taking pictures but I had to do it. Melissa (another owner/manager)comes to the back and we start discussing rare album covers (I'm trying to find the controversial Open Up and Say Ahh by Poison -banned album cover, holler if you have it) , NWA's Vinyl that only came out after the Straight Outta Compton movie , etc...... I could have stayed there all day until my 8 year old reminded me we had places to go. So I bid goodbye only to come back two seconds later to let my son see the antique rotary phone at the register. I'm a big fan of all things analog so naturally a place where they have rotary phone and old cameras has my name written all over it. The place has a little of everything. From rhinestone necklaces to old cameras that looked like something from Greta Garbo era to portable typewriters that Hemingway would use...every thing here has a history and character. As far as the price I think they are right on point. For example I collect mid century brooches and AOTS's prices were exactly what the market place would sell them for these days. They had a rotary black telephone in working condition for $65 which I though was cheap. Most of what I've seen in that condition were going for $85 and up. As for their refurbished typewriters-I think AOTS's are a bargain. Most of their typewriters are in excellent conditions and from what I saw they were priced at a fair price. You do get what you pay for on an antique typewriter. Yes you can get one on ebay for $85 but you don't know what kind of condition it is in. It's better to get one refurbished by a skilled technician otherwise you minds well toss your $85 bucks out the window....besides do you know a typewriter technicians? I mean who services these things anymore? exactly....actually I do know one. I am a complete sucker for a random excursion, and that's what I had today when I went to this store. I've been in a few times in the past and spent a fair amount of money on books and records there, but today I just happened to be strolling by with my family when I felt compelled to pop in. I immediately saw a book that I wanted, and then had some nice banter with the dude working there (owner?) while I browsed. The shop is great, the clerk was friendly and very accommodating, and the deal I got on the book could not be beat. A pleasant surprise on a nice afternoon! read more

This is for the "Sweet Mellisa" part of the store. It is my favorite record store. I feel it's almost a secret so I leave this review reluctantly. I have found so many modern and classic albums here. Some of the other local record stores either don't have music I like, or get picked over to fast. They also have very good mid to high end audio equipment as well. The antique part of the store is very cool but it's not for me. I haven't spent much time with the books but looks like someone should be able to find something that they would like in that part of the store read more

This shop is a combination of Antiques on The Square, and Sweet Melissa's (vinyl shop) in the back. It's definitely worth a pop-in as you meander The Square. Antiques On The Square has a good collection of old cameras, books, and other random awesome things. They have some vinyl up front and even a special section noted as "rare" which is great so you don't have to flip through everything to see some of the cool stuff. Sweet Melissa's has an awesome collection of vinyl and some really old Popular Science magazines from the 40's. I really enjoyed poking around and even found a couple things I couldn't live without. read more

Total waste of time. Completely rude two female attendants. Lots of eye rolls; too busy on their phones. Couldn't price any thing. Couldn't contact manager. This can't be a serious business or should get pleasant personnel or... likely a place to launder money. read more

KNOCK ON WOOD This little antique store is located directly across from Marietta Square. It is a quaint little space with hardwood wood floors. I love this space because it is just so cool. They have an extensive collection of antique cameras and other items such as furniture, books, plaques, turntables and random items. This is not that junk-antique store that is just used to house old stuff that people have a hard time discarding, this place is legit. It is a great place to visit and as you reach the rear of the shop, you will notice a listening room with stereo equipment and another shop, (Sweet Melissa), which has a large collection of old albums from various genres and eras . It is a nice place for purchasing a unique gift for collectors who those who appreciate "old school" quality. read more

My husband and I went into the store after walking around the fall festival Saturday afternoon. We found an instrument we were interested in purchasing but the cashier (who I assume was the owner) was the most arrogant and degrading person I have interacted with in a long time. He wouldn't let us see the instrument outside of the glass case, regardless of our willingness to purchase (which he didn't ask.) These instruments aren't cheap and I can only assume he was rude to us because we looked young. There are a few other nice antique stores in the area with much more class, as well as respect for their customers. read more
