Meandering through aisles of eclectic treasures from yesteryear makes me smile. I visited Park West Vintage in Marietta on a rainy Sunday and quickly determined this could be my happy place. I found furniture, artwork (original and prints), collectibles, jewelry, clothing, lighting, seasonal decor and so much more. I wandered through the entire store twice and saw different pieces each time. I took a number of photos to help show the variety of merchandise. In terms of service, I asked for help measuring a piece and found a friendly face right away. This store is clean and vibrant, but also unpretentious. I realize everyone's budget is different and value is quite subjective. However, I didn't have sticker shock while perusing and I looked at a good number of treasures. Solid antique stop. Not many left in the area. You are left to wander a fairly large store. I picked up some orange furniture restorer. Might have found a piece of jewelry, but my friend ended up getting haunted, so we left pretty fast from there. On the outside wall by the register, her phone shut completely off. Like click. No phone anything. She felt uneasy and decided she needed to leave and clear the store. She walked outside, said "you are not welcome to follow me or attach." Poof. Phone come s back on. Sooooo. Park West Vintage is a MASSIVE spot located on Marietta Square that features thousands of square feet of furniture, art, lighting, collectibles, clothes, accessories, toys, records...and legit everything in between and maybe even a few things you didn't even know existed. We wondered in after lunch on the square and spent 45 minutes just wondering around the place. While they don't have directional signs, the store just has a natural flow that everyone seems to follow. We were not after anything specific, but did end up with a cool canvas art piece for our guest room. Pricing is fair for the most part. Our art was only $10 and a few other things I saw and liked were well priced. Of course they do have big ticket items you would expect such as furniture, jewelry and actual collectible. Service was ok. They let you wonder around the store without bothering you, which is great. The staff stayed around the register and were available when needed. Overall, PWV was a cool spot to swing through and wonder around. We will certainly be back! read more

My partner & I have been visiting this store for years now & each time we come, we have a great time. Not only they have beautiful furniture items & good findings, but also the service they provide is simply wonderful. This time since it's my birthday I wanted to come here & see which good findings we would be lucky to find this time. We bought some items to bring home that will be cherished for many years to come. Each time we find a way to always make time to make a movie montage memory & take a photo, it's part of our tradition & it's always fun to do. I don't k know why the reviews were so iffy but my first visit ended very hopefully. I thought I found the perfect wall sconces so I took a picture to bring home to assess. I was treated decently and I did not feel pressured to look quickly. I was overwhelmed that the store was actually larger than it looks from the street because its depth goes way back and is filled with many lovely things. The prices are reasonable so go check it out. Loved it. Is a mini Paris on Ponce. I found a great yute bag art piece made from coffee bean bags. The artist was painting another item on site. It was on sale and I was elated as I needed something large but with character and I am also a pisces so the fish motif was right on. Beautiful home decor, chandeliers, jewelry. You name it. I love this place! It's a market with separated unmanned booths for various vendors and artists to set up and display their items. It's overflowing with an abundance of antiques and vintage treasures as well as unique newer items and art. During my visit it was kind of quiet and a staff member greeted me cheerfully before I began wandering through the store. It's big. Bigger than I thought and I was pleasantly surprised. Along with all of the fabulous house decor, baubles and trinkets, they also have a clock repair booth. As I passed by, there was a kind gentleman working on a beautiful antique grandfather clock. I'm not positive but I think that I saw a lamp repair booth as well :) Also, prices seemed reasonable to me. I checked a lot of items and never once went into sticker shock. You must stop in and visit if you're visiting the Marietta Square. Actually, I would suggest making a special trip to the area, just to browse this lovely store. read more

Sweet baby Jesus I've never seen so much southern antique swag in my entire life. It's a huge warehouse with unattended booths set up around the perimeter. If you have a need to dress like someone from Little House on the Prairie, this is your place. Staff leaves you alone as you marvel at the junk people somehow couldn't throw away. An unopened box of Brillo Pads, circa 1955? Check. We spent about an hour here pilfering through bins of ancient junk. Most of it was reasonably priced (for junk). I have no clue what you'd use most of this crap for, but I'm sure there's a market for it. Don't bring your kids here. There is free parking behind the store in the lot beside the wine store on Powder Springs St. Definitely worth stopping by, if to do nothing but gawk and be baffled. Definitely a fun find. Oh, and if you're in the market for a vintage chandelier, this is a good spot, too. read more

I'm pretty sure I'm stalking Dupre's specifically for bags/purses. And what gal can say no to fabulous purses in an antique shop. Well I most certainly cannot, therefore I head straight to the spot they're located and wish they'd come down on the price of them a tiny bit, but either way... I forsee a bag or two ending up happily in my closet later this year. So every time I walk into this shop, I feel like I'm traveling through time, and I'm sure that's the feeling antique shops are going for. Most items here are like pieces of unspoken history sitting on shelves, that are waiting for a home to start a new story. But for me, on a quiet lazy afternoon, this is a great place to get lost in and see items that even our parents and grandparents used when they were growing up. I like to look at the old toys as I head toward the exit, and I even saw a DBZ (Dragon Ball Z) figurine in the shop and how cool is that for an anime geek. The jewelry is gorgeous and I make sure to press my face to the glass case, the chandeliers amaze me as I stare at the ceiling while walking, and there isn't a nook or cranny in this shop that doesn't have anything fascinating in it. Overall, I've found myself getting lost in here a few times, and plan to get lost in here many more times to come. I'm not a big antique buyer, but I do like unique and cute things. This antique store has been in business as long as I can remember. Filled with different vendors, there is something for everyone at many different price points. There is a lot of product to see. Vintage, new & handmade! My only concern is the engagement of the staff. It's clear the employees working are most likely dealers who have a space in the store & not an incentivized employee because they don't leave the counter to greet guests or check on customers. I've been in the store probably 3-4 times in the past few months and I always feel like when I walk in, I'm interrupting a gossip session. If I were a dealer at this location, it might explain why so many spaces are having a sale or promotion - nobody is actively on the floor helping customers. This is a self-serve location. DuPre's is a fun antique store. There are a ton of different kinds of items, so you'd be in luck no matter what you're looking for, and it's a huge space. I really like how old the sign is/looks. I know they've been around for a long time. Near the employees only section, they have hung up old receipts, order forms, stock lists, phone extension lists etc from when they were an actual market. They sold things like chicken grit and guinea pigs and stuff. It's so cool. I'm a little surprised those things are not framed or protected in any way.. but it's still cool. It's the kind of place where collectors can rent a space to sell their goods. Sports collectibles, bottles, jars, jewelry, furniture, old home decor, books, tea cups, old silverware, antique baby dresses (creepy!), keys, iron, crystal, antique appliances, even some current cutesy gift stuff, etc etc.. there's also an art gallery section that I did not look at particularly because we were window shopping for some specific things. We felt that the prices were a little higher at DuPre's than they would have been at an antique store up in North GA. Neat place overall - definitely worth a stroll into. read more

As part of Project Apartment Rejuvenation 2011, I've been on the hunt for some antique flour, sugar and coffee containers. I spotted a beautiful white English flour pot with nearly worn-off navy blue lettering in Dupre's front window display. It took a staff member about 10 minutes to dislodge it from the front of a dresser, so luckily I bought it. I also found a ribbed glass container with "Coffee" raised across. Now all I need is a sugar canister to complete my triumvirate. I could've bought a lot more at Dupre's, like a $200 trunk or $400 side table, but that would have catapulted Project Apartment Rejuvenation 2011 into a major danger zone. I was willing to overlook the high prices but when I was talked to the way that I was I turned around and walked out. My family visits from all over the country every Christmas and we have visited this shop several times and spent significant amounts of money here. Today my sister in law had her 5 year old girls with her and while we were shopping and walking around, they kicked my husband and the children out of the store. I would in no way shape or form call this an antiques market. There are random pieces mixed in with new and crafty chalk painted pieces. The two ladies I spoke with were super nice and for me the only draw to return would be the lamp shop in the back, Super great pricing on high end lamps and he will make and repair lamps. read more

Was visiting Marietta Square for the first time to get some dessert so I decided to take a stroll around the square so I could check out the different businesses. I saw a couple walking with some small pieces of furniture so I deduced that there must be some kind of antique store nearby given the look of the items. When I finished exploring, I ended my visit to the Square with shopping a Dupre's not knowing what I would find. Not everything is an actual antique. There is some vintage items and some newer items, as well. Things are organized my stalls. I think some stalls organize similar items and some are for a specific "seller" from the look of it. Reminds me Paris on Ponce, but not as funky and BIGGER. You will be fooled by the outside appearance of the place. There is so much to see. Take your time an explore. A number of items were just a bit more than I was wiling to pay. However, I did splurge on a gorgeous sarong (not antique). I also purchased, three pairs of earrings. I guess it was an accessories kind of day. I paid about $80 for my four items. Not like my old antique shop in NC where I would score more than a bagful of items at the price. But I thought the selection of items was very nice and I'm sure that most people could find something they are interested in. I definitely plan to visit again if I am in the area. read more

So I would like to start by saying that in the past, I've thoroughly enjoyed this antique store and bought several items from it. Today I went in with my husband. While perusing, I found a lovely antique ring I wanted to try on. I went to the front to ask to have the case opened. They were rather snotty about it from the start but I assumed they were just having a bad day. Once I got to the ring, I was pleasantly surprised by the price. It was only $65. Unfortunately, it was too big for every single one of my fingers and I did not think it would be easy to get sized, as the silver detailing was very intricate. Therefore, I decided against purchasing it. The lady who opened the case for me was talking on the phone at this point, so I tried to politely but quietly return it to her and thank her. As my husband and I walked to the front, my husband heard her say to the other coworker that we were a waste of their time. I guess if me shopping at your store is such a waste of time, I won't return. I can't believe what horrible service we just received. As if I'm required to buy a ring that doesn't fit because I asked her to do her job for 2 minutes!!! read more

Dear Sir or Madam, My name is Sereika Chiem. I used to live in Marietta and loved shopping at Marietta Square. I haven't been back in about 8 years and today at around 4:57 pm, my husband and I along with our two children decided we would look around for antiques at your store. I remember long ago none of the employees ever speaking to me whenever I shopped there and I shouldn't have gotten used to it then, but I did. Today, 8 years later, it was a very humiliating experience that snapped something inside of me for it to bother me hours later, compelling me to write this email. I found 3 plate stands that totaled $6.33. I didn't realize that the cash I thought I had was used on tips earlier. I quietly and kindly explained to the two ladies up front what happened and asked if I could pay with my debit card, that they could do it as a debit or credit and it wouldn't matter to me. One lady (Nancy) made this big deal to the other lady (didn't get her name) about how she feared getting in trouble for accepting that small amount on a card and that it would have to be a minimum of at least $15. The other lady finally just waved her hands and "shooed" at Nancy to just do it and what I thought sounded like "just to get them out of here"...so Nancy processed the card and presents me with the receipt which in black letters at the bottom clearly says something to the effect of "no signature required"...Guess what Nancy asks me to do? Not only did she ask me to sign my name on an imaginary line but she asked me to write my phone number too. I was taken aback at the request being that there is a note that clearly states no signature needed. She apparently saw my hesitation and explained something about asking all customers to do this. Really? I wanted to ask how many white people do you ask to do the same thing I was asked to do. I am an Asian person therefore I am not white and I must be suspicious "in case that huge $6.33 charge gets them in trouble for allowing the charge in the first place or something goes wrong with the charge". I've never in my life been asked to do that. She obviously knew I was upset then proceeded to tell me "oh but you don't have to sign it if you don't want to. We understand". What??? I got the pen, signed it with my phone number as requested and told her while underlining the phone number several times, something like definitely calling me in case this $6.33 doesn't work out. I wouldn't want you all out of this 6 bucks. I am highly disappointed. I hate pulling the race card on any situation and never have until now. My experience in returning to this store years later was a mistake and in hindsight, I should have put the stupid items down and left the store. Also in hindsight, I never should have shopped there from the first bad experience years ago with the staff ignoring me and not assisting me. Never judge a book by its cover. You all are in the antique business so you should know that. What you wouldn't have known is that I am one of the most charitable and nicest people you would ever come across. I hope an experience in your lives humble you and that you don't treat people any different than how you would want to be treated and I hope that in the years to come, your business still stands and that the customer service is unparalleled. I was extremely disappointed in this business with their customer service! I was meeting a friend in the square for dinner and decided to go in and browse for a wedding gift that I had coming up. I walked in at 5:35pm and at 5:50 the lights went out in half of the store. A female sales assistant walked by and said we are closing now are you parked in the front or back? I answered " the back". I finished walking towards the back of the store (maybe 30 seconds had passed) when one of the owners/Eric approached me and said "Will you be making any purchases this evening before we close out our register?" I stopped and looked at him thinking Well I don't have time to pick out what I was looking at so I guess not. I asked when do you close? He replied "We are closed now but 5:45 is our closing time. He then said " Well then let me show you to out"??? I was appalled! I had several things in mind of purchasing and being a market place where vendors are the sellers I'm sure they would NOT be happy that know the owner was pushing a buyer out the door!!
