He doesn't listen to you ! Will prescribe the same medicine to you that you already said does not work!

Eljajjar Location couldn't be better. Centralized location and always lots of parking. Waiting room is good size so you have plenty of space between patients. I really appreciate the doctor; he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, explains everything I have questions about & takes the time needed to make sure all my concerns have been addressed. Unfortunately... Office staff has decent people skills, but needs more training in execution of duties. Received multiple reminders for different appt times. One reminder came at 7am! Too early to be getting those kind of calls! A few times, they called, it rang twice and then they just hung up, noting in the file that there was "no answer". Yay, riiiight... Not having this issue anywhere else, so...it's not my phone! Wait times are nothing short of silly. They intentionally overbook, so they are always behind. I don't have time for such nonsense. I will be looking for care elsewhere. read more

The staff here is so irresponsible. They wanted me drive all the way to their office to pick up a blood work order all the way from Yucca Valley which is over 80 miles to do this. They said they could not fax at first. Called back later for them to fax over order and it still was not there. It took several phone calls just to get an order for blood work. I even had LabCorp call and still nothing. It finally got there and they still messed up the order and LabCorp had to call again to get the right order. The staff at this place is one of the worst in this area. Make sure everything is in order before you leave the office. Dr. El Hajjar is really a very nice man and answered questions. read more

I went to him not by choice but because my insurance changed and he was the only referral my doctor had. I've never been so disappointed in a facility or doctor in my life. I have acute and severe insomnia and I'm up for literally days at a time. When I do sleep it's for maybe 2 or 3 hours and it's because I pass out from sheer exhaustion. He told me that that was impossible that there's no way I was up for 2 days at a time. Ridiculous.... a few years ago I was up for 5 days with maybe an hour here or there and wound up in the emergency room screaming and hallucinating, he thought I was exaggerating. Again told me what I claimed to be my lack of sleep was just not valad. He was convinced that it was all about me moving my legs at night when I do sleep, but he didn't seem to understand that I don't sleep. Also the times that I do sleep I'm curled up in a ball on the couch and I do not move a hair. Which can be attested to by both my mother, my husband, and the blanket on top of me which never changes position. I do not move my legs, but he would not let that go. I explained to him I was in the middle of a sleep study with another clinic but unfortunately had to change midway through and he proceeded to tell me how wrong the treatment of the other Clinic was and that his way was the only way to find out what's going on. I've then stood up and he proceeded to tell me that I had scoliosis, Ludacris....that I was leaning to one side upon standing. I may have been leaning to one side because I have severe muscle and neck problems on the other. He checked my back and then my neck and said that he might be wrong. I then told him that in December I was in the hospital with a seizure and tied down in ICU because I was violently thrashing. I was there for 2 days and I don't remember one minute of it, he told me not to worry about that if it didn't happen again. I can't believe he was serious. He was condescending, unprofessional and bordering on downright rude. From The Moment I Saw the outside of the building in a strip mall and walked in the waiting room to the cool receptionist to when I left walking out through the lobby literally sobbing from my "treatment" I've been very very upset. It's a clinic in the middle of a mini mall and that's exactly how you feel and that's exactly the treatment that you get, treatment, LOL. early years wanted to commit suicide because nothing worked on my migrains. I paid for full cov insurance until it was over 300$ a month but he was my first specialist and some how with nothing working ytet and 20 years ago i was giving up until i met him, and the medication that worked then became the way i graduated, never even thought i would do much, but the 40$ a pill with out insurance started and now im on ssi for migrains and cant try the new meds that probably would cure me if i had a dr like him. So its been a while and for me i must admit life became more tollerable because of having someone do more than most, aparently thats hard to do with insurance now ... basically the medication is now a slow death... but i was trying to make that 40$ instead of looking for guns, but i never plan much anyways i could try at least becasue of him and now i can buy my own full box at cosco with out paying for dr visits for refills ... however insurance is basically a joke and makes me sick pretending thats helpful... so the new meds are years away and too expensive to be offered by the fake insurance i have free now.. i pay for what i want i cant pay 5000 for new meds but maybe if i had this dr.. i might have got to try something .. better than any dr. i ever saw he changed my life, however i have a 5mile imaginary circle that i can come and go from that i can control... i learned by losing vehicals how far i can go on my own from my house ... and now there is uber but thats useless as it shouldnt be .... but better than losing a bmw because i need to get to the pharmacy and issues that used to be roadblocks making life unsafe and unstable... complex ptsd and the migrains and fear of bad drs since they are 10 bad ones compared to him... at that time in my life.. he was a way to feel better if i had 40$ a pill. alot of bad things happend if i couldnt get that money, or pay for the refill every 9 pills i think i just threw up on the medi-cal insurance card and system... i better quit there. read more

For some reason I am finding doctors not so eager to take me on as a patient, I don't think I'm a difficult patient but I DO have a number of health issues. Have tried to contact Dr. Elhajjar a couple of times now and have yet to hear back, if I get in the door things should get better. read more

Highly Recommend! Neurology is very sensitive and personal issue to discuss. Make sure you find the right neurologist.

I saw PA Claudia and was scheduled for a sleep study. The PA was pleasant, as well as the MA. The sleep study was an absolute nightmare. Tech started off by arriving right at the appt time, making excuses for being late. He had no idea where anything was and did not explain anything except brag about his history and how Dr. Elhajjar thinks he's the best, etc. He kept asking my name over and over, never asking for my ID. I offered to him and he said it was ok. I could have been my sister and no one would have known. He was on his cell phone talking loudly throughout the night making it difficult to sleep. When he brought in the CPAP mask, he didn't explain anything just told me to put it on. I had never worn one before. I explained before the start of the study that I wake up during the night to use the bathroom and he said that if I needed to use the bathroom that all I had to do was sit up at the edge of the bed and he would come right in. I sat for what seemed to be a long time before he came in and he seemed bothered by it. He also informed me that I had sleep apnea and explaining more medical information that I felt was something the doctor should have told me as he is not the doctor and results were going to be based off the doctor's review. I've worked in the medical field for 20+ years and this was a poorly ran office and the tech as well as staff returning my calls were not very competent so I refuse to return. The only persons who seemed to have any common sense and act professionally were the receptionist when I checked in to see the PA, the MA, the PA herself and Lisa who makes the appts. All others made my decision to never return very easy. Hopefully Dr. Elhajjar and his management team will work to improve the sleep study experience and how the patients are treated. I'm not the only person who has left a bad review and will definitely check reviews before seeing a new Dr in the future. read more

Office staff was very friendly and kind. Dr. Elhajjar is an incompetent ass. He attempted a diagnosis without viewing any of my labs or MRI scans. He was extremely condescending and didn't listen to or address my concerns. Do not waste your time or money on this joke of a 'doctor'. Really wish I could give zero stars. read more

Dr. Elhajjar is knowledgeable, thorough and attentive. I was relieved to finally find a Neurologist I trust and recommend him highly.

Staff here is horrible. Doctor seems okay, but the staff is endangering the lives of many people. They have hung up multiple times, delaying patients of their neccesssry medication and to see the doctor when there is an emergency. They have cancelled an appointment without approval from the patient, giving the appointment time to someone else and then rescheduling the original patient's appointment 2+ weeks after, rendering patient with no medication and staff unwilling to send Ok to pharmacy for refill. It is very sad that the staff is like this, hanging up on a patient is never okay.. Let alone doing that multiple times. Your patients are people who need to see the doctor and need to have their medication for the sake of being alive. read more

I've been trying to make an appointment with him since Tues of last week but they kept saying they had not received the referral from my Primary Care Physicuan. My EISENHOWER (#1 Hospital & Health care services in the valley) showed me an actual quote from Dr Elhajjar's referral admin that they had not only received the referral but also confirmed it by phone. "Just to make sure" my GREAT Eisenhower PCP RESENT the referral 4 days ago & called to confirm. Yet it's 4 days later & im still getting excuses from this Dr Elhajjar's office that the referral lady is off today, that this referral lady was busy, that this referral lady is on another call. Yes I have left her msgs, i even had the receptionist send her a personal message to her when I refused to leave this referral lady any more messages. If I were Eisenhower, I'd no longer refer this Dr to their patients. If I were Dr. Elhajjar, I'd fire this referral lady who is obviously not doing her job!!! #WorstNeurologistInPalmDesert read more

The guy is a total idiot and the office is a disaster. If you have an appointment, say, 11am, it takes til after noon to get actually get seen. Waiting room has enough seats for 5 people. It's awkward. The doctor himself... honestly, I would punch him in the face. He does not allow questions about your own health. That's concerning. Plus, here's a perk: he doesn't SPEAK ENGLISH. This Doctor is arrogant, condescending, uncaring, and trying to sell his sleep study over any interest in why the patient came in. he actually stood over me while speaking.. never sat. he said several times. i am not that kind of doctor, while i explained where I hurt. He also kept saying " is that all? i left in excruciating pain, with an MRI and a THREE MONTH follow up appointment. really? if there were negative stars for patient centered ness. he would get those. read more

So disappointing. I went in for my initial appointment with Dr. Elhajjar and was completely unimpressed with him. He sat me down and asked me a few questions about why I'm getting a sleep study done. While asking me these questions, his cell phone kept ringing because he was receiving a lot of text messages from his son who was trying to book plane tickets. He continually interrupted our talk several times to answer his text messages. I was only in the room with him for about 5 minutes in total. I would have thought he could have waited until afterwards to take care of his personal business. He had such a laissez faire attitude and was just going through the motions. He didn't care about me as a patient at all. A few weeks later I went in for my sleep study and the technician who preformed it was fine. The room that I slept in for my sleep study was very warm. The thermostat for the AC was located in my room but the technician said it couldn't be turned down anymore because it was making the other rooms too cold. So there is unequal cooling amongst the rooms at the office too. Then a few weeks after my sleep study, a lady at the office called to tell me I didn't have sleep apnea. I knew that I didn't have before I went in. I was more interested in the results from my test because I wanted to know the quality of the sleep I was receiving and get feedback from Dr. Elhajjar as to why I was consistently waking up 10 times per night. The lady kept trying to shoo me off the phone when I asked for some feedback on my results. She was not going to schedule me for another appointment with the doctor to go over my results and get feedback from him. I had to ask for them to be sent to my house so I could see review them myself. I had high hopes of finally getting some help for my sleep issues, but this did not happen. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE AT ALL. read more
