I am writing this letter to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care I continue to consistently receive from Dr. Stanley and his outstanding team--especially Paul (NP) and the front desk medical assistants. Whenever I have an appointment with Paul, despite his demanding schedule, he always takes the time to truly listen to my concerns, answer all of my questions, and clearly explain the next steps for monitoring my health. His attentiveness and professionalism make me feel heard, respected, and an active participant in the quality of care I'm receiving. I also want to commend the front desk staff for making appointment scheduling smooth and accommodating. On several occasions, they've helped me secure earlier appointments when needed. Their prompt attention, courteous manner, and strong commitment to patient care are genuinely valued--and, most importantly, reliably consistent. Additionally, I've experienced excellent follow-up after appointments--whether regarding test results, treatment plans, or referrals to specialists. Communication has always been clear, timely, and supportive, which is essential for making informed decisions about my health. When I've been referred to outside specialists for procedures, the team has been consistently aware of the outcomes and continues to monitor my overall care. I genuinely feel that my medical care is being watched closely, and I'm thankful for that level of attention. Another aspect I truly appreciate is how easy it is to renew my prescriptions--whether locally at my pharmacy or through online systems. The process is efficient, reliable, and always handled with care, which brings me great peace of mind. Thanks to these effective communication channels and a coordinated team approach, I've never felt uncertain or frustrated. Dr. Stanley is best primary care physician I've ever had, and I've had many over my 62 years. I lived in Palm Springs for 7 years and recently moved out of the area. Dr. Stanley will be greatly missed! I find that dessert area to have literally the worst cardiologists, electrophysiologists, neurologists, pain doctors, orthopedic specialists, therapists, allergy doctors, pediatrists, and hospitals that I've ever seen in my life, but not doctor Stanley. Doctor Stanley is an Angel in a desert of trash. I don't know what I would have done without him. He's a compassionate, caring, sincere, humble, knowledgeable man. He's like having a primary doctor and therapist all in one. He listens and knows his stuff, and zero attitude. If you are lucky enough to have him as your doctor, go for it! I've been in dr Stanley's care a few months now, long enough to know I'm in the right place. When he orders a test he has a staff member call you with the results, no more trying to chase down the results by yourself or in some cases months before you get results. Dr. Stanley was able to diagnose an appendix rupture that had NONE of the typical symptoms and recommended an emergency CT Scan to confirm. The diagnosis resulted in an Emergency operation later in the day ,that might as well have saved my life. I am very grateful for Dr. Stanleys skill, In the years that Dr. Stanley has been my physician , I have also had an opportunity to see Paul Boyd his PA several times , he is very knowledgeable and compassionate. read more

Sarcasm as a last resort fails, just like failed visits across five months. The doctor orders DME that doesn't fit me, yet refuses to break my legs so that I might fit the DME he orders. He does not appreciate such sarcasm but at least heard it; before that apparently he heard nothing (cannot hear my voice for months). Had I known what this office was like, I would have consulted the Yellow Pages from the start in order find "In and Out Mobility"; Google search says it's located three cities away from me; want of accurate DME only he can order, I can't get there easily, not without risk of physical injury until he does so, but away he sends me there, a total run-around for months culminating in : "In and Out Mobility" written on a Post-it Note by Paul, the nurse, during a visit that was supposed to be with Stanley, the doctor. Doctor in absentia, ditto for his DME company. Does not listen, left me voiceless. If you have obvious special needs and also exceedingly low expectations, and enjoy frustration, Stanley is for you. You can anticipate time on hold, repeating the same things across visits for months ; being sent to agencies, only to be told to call the doctor, who apparently didn't get the message months ago--doctor who isn't all there, doctor in abstentia-- round and round. The patient receives the blame even when special needs are basic and visible to the naked eye. Is it possible Stanley never looked at me? Certainly he in no way ever physically examined me. I apologize for wasting his time and thank him for a learning experience. read more

I was referred to Dr Stanley by my Infectious Disease specialist, but Dr Stanley refused to see me because I have Medicare only. I do not have a supplemental. Dr Stanley refuses to see patients that do not have a supplemental, even if they have cash in hand, a high-six-figures savings account with bank statements to prove it, 800+ credit score, and a zero balance credit card. I put that down to plain greed. read more

Quite literally the most horrible, rude, uncaring, cold, unhelpful receptionist I've ever encountered. Surely in the field of care, they should hire someone who actually cares and has some humanity. There are vulnerable people out there and her attitude and horrible demeanor could just send someone over the edge. Kindness is lacking at this place. read more

Dr. Stanley is great but his nurse practitioner, Jessica, should not be practicing medicine. She is absolutely horrible. She is condescending and makes you feel bad for any conditions you seek help for. She pushes her personal agenda of "natural alternatives" over the quality of your care. I had a terrible experience with her and chalked it up to maybe an off day. Six months later at my next appointment, it was even worse. I left the office crying and I'm not that sensitive. She does more harm than good to Dr. Stanley's practice. read more

I don't know about Dr Stanley's services actually because I was turned away. This low rating is for the only interaction I had with this office. I understand the desert is a "different" place and that things move slower here. I also understand being busy but it is terrible to be turned away for medical care. It's great a practice is doing so well that they can turn ppl away and say they aren't taking new patients. But since it is the medical field it would be nice if the staff had a polite approach and even offered suggestions. Everything about Dr. Stanley's practice is great. His staff are on the ball. Dr. Stanley isn't one of those Drs that is in and out in 5 minutes. He listens to you and digs into what the big picture issue is and treats accordingly. Very Pleased with Dr. Stanley! Every check I come in for he is very throe and goes over my records. There is never a rushed feeling, he takes his time to make sure you leave satisfied and get better. The website needs to make clear that Dr. Stanley does not accept Medicare. After months of calling and being told they weren't taking new patients and to call back "in a couple of months, I was finally asked what insurance I have. When I told the receptionist I have Medicare and Medicare supplement insurance, she informed me they only take HMO, no Medicare. read more

It is true that Dr Stanley is very nice guy. He has a caring & compassionate feel to him. I have been going to him for a couple of years now and he is always willing to order any test, write a referral, or write a prescription for you. That being said and the reason I gave only three stars instead of five. There has been several times that I have thoroughly explained a situation and what I would like to do to Dr Stanley and it's like OK we can do that. Then it does not happen so I call his office to see what is up and it's like nothing was ordered. So I ask for them to follow through and they assure me they will and it still does not happen. So fast forward to many months later and still no results! More than frustrating! Dr Stanley and or his staff seem to drop the ball often. If one was really sick it could be a big problem!!! His staff - The front office when you call is often non caring and curt and they for sure drop the ball often. When you call they never identify themselves and you have to ask, whom am I speaking with. So unprofessional! Like I said Dr. Stanley is a nice guy and a OK doctor. I personally want a doctor that will find something out that they don't know (research) and follow through with what was discussed at the time of the appointment and make sure that his staff does too! I am looking to switch doctors but it's a process and takes awhile, anyway with my insurance. read more

My husband and I have been regularly seeing Dr. Stanley for 4 years. He takes time and doesn't rush his time with you. He truly cares about you. The staff is organized and we rarely wait more than 5 to 10 minutes in the waiting room before being called in. I have been going to Dr. Stanley for most of the time he has been in private practice in Palm Springs. He is the best doctor I have ever had. He takes time to understand his patient's concerns/issues and offers effective treatment plans. He is simply the best. He reminds me of the way private practices were many many years ago. Dr. Stanley is an outstanding Physician. He takes the time to listen and you can feel he cares about you. I came to him after being a member of Kaiser Permanente whose Doctors only seem to gloss over your problems, I complained to my Kaiser Doctor of pain for one year before I had a heart attack and even after I had the heart attack and open heart surgey, he was still indifferent to me. So was the Kaiser Dermatologist I saw. Dr. Stanley however, pay attention and truly wants to solve your healthcare problems. read more

My partner and I have seen Dr. Stanley for many years now. Dr. Stanley unlike most other Physicians I have seen listen to my needs and requests and is open to allowing the patient to have input into their care. Dr. Stanley is an advocate to get medications that might not be covered under the EPO's formulary. The office staff recently have been great with connecting me through the video option on my phone and computer for appointments. read more

Tried to make an appointment. Was told I am 'out of network' for my insurance provider. Told them I would pay. Was told 'We don't accept cash patients.' Now please explain that one to me. I have money, want to see a doctor, but he won't see people with money. Very Strange where I'm from! read more

when i've needed him after hours or weekends...he always calls right back and NEVER has some other doc covering for him!!! When I've needed to see him stat...somehow they fit me in for a same day appt. The office staff and Dr Stanley are truly caring and attentive. This office is a joke. They cannot process simple paperwork nort get paperwork to the right lab. After fasting and such to have blood tests done I arrived at the lab t9 find that they did not have the paperwork even though I called the office to remind them to fax it. What a joke. Called to make an appointment and, despite my insurance website showing that he is an in-network doctor and accepting new patients, was told that he does not accept my insurance as it is a PPO. Apparently he only takes patients with HMO insurance. I've never heard of that one before and don't know if the woman I spoke with was correct, but, if so, he needs to let the various insurance companies who have him listed as an in-network doctor know and have the information changed on the various websites he is noted on, like Healthgrades, Web MD, etc., all of which currently show he accepts many PPO insurances. read more

Honestly, his office is the best! The staff is very attentive, prompt and sweet. I never have to wait long to get back to see him. He listens and he tried to find answers for me when I was going through terrible pain. The staff always tries to fit me in if I feel it's urgent and if it's not, they work with whatever fits my schedule. Everyone is wonderful! read more

He's kind and courteous and ALWAYS follows up (not a lot of physicians do that anymore). We live in Indio and don't mind driving to Palm Springs to see him. Both my wife and I have been treated by several Doctors in the Palm Springs, Coachella Valley area. They all had one thing in common, they showed no real concern for our health or wellbeing. We were just numbers and nothing more. Then, thank God we were introduces to Doctor Edgar Stanley. He proved to be a kind, caring and above all a very competent Doctor. He spent as much time as was needed to discuss and explain our medical problems and immediately referred us to specialists. Doctor Stanley is a credit to the medical profession.
