Thoughtful and kind service. They serve food that reminds me of my mom's Salvadoran cooking. Very tranquil place

Late night stopped in for a friend's bday meal! Ended up at La posada! I must say the gentleman…read morethat was working the bar also served our table was super chill and he communicates well. We ordered the following: - fish tacos (3) - flavor wise this fell flat for me. No punch of seasoning to the fish personally. - Birria tacos combo - fire combo. I just love birria style tacos. Highlight for me hot and well cooked beef, tender. - Birria chimichanga (2) this is hefty, i thought this was a good chimichanga, i would probably ask for extra sauce next go around, it got a bit dry without it. - carne asada enchiladas, the lady enjoyed this, carne was moist and tender. - pork belly & yuca loved the pork belly originally thought it was more like a chicharron dish but enjoyed this style , the yuca wasn't my jam. - tajin elote (2) love tajin elotes so no complaints! - churro espresso Great spot, great service.

This is what we ordered when we visited: - fish tacos (3) - Birria tacos combo - Birria chimichanga (2) - carne asada enchiladas - pork belly & yuca - tajin elote (2) - churro espresso martini Everything was very good! I would probably skip on the fish tacos next time just because it wasn't really my thing but everything else was tasty. The Birria tacos and Birria chimichanga were out of this world... my favorites out of everything we ordered. Very flavorful and generous portion sizes. Honestly we ordered way more than we could eat lol but they made for the best leftovers the next day. We were able to walk-in without reservations for a table of 3 & service is very quick and efficient!! Food came quick and pipin' hot! Would definitely come back again & I highly recommend. My husband got his food. I waited and waited... and waited. He's almost done, mine still hasn't arrived. Apparently, walking up to the staff member, carrying menu, pointing to the dish, pointing at me, smiling, nodding, pointing at the menu and me again did not register as asking for that thing. Husband was done eating. I was offered to have the dish made. It'd take them twenty minutes. I was hungry when I entered the eatery, but too upset to feel any hunger. I just wanted to get the heck out of there, and that's what we did; paid and left. I turned around and using a language translation tool wrote "you should have a sign on the door, in English, that you don't speak English," and showed it to the waitress. I have a feeling that she might have not been able to reading, as I got another blank stare.

It was a more complicated dish, so we expected it to take longer, but it took longer and longer and longer, until we finally chanced our luck at speaking to them. The waitress said that my wife never ordered anything (!). I guess she never thought to ask what my wife might want. Needless to say, her meal wasn't good, having not existed. I cannot recommend this restaurant, not at all. Maybe if you're fluent in Spanish, you might actually get a meal?

Good mexican food is hard to come by around here, so it's refreshing that we now have a go-to spot that's reliable and won't break the bank! They offer full service dining, takeout, and DoorDash delivery. The bright dining has long bar with seating to the left and plenty of table seating, yellow & brown painted walls, and a colorful mural. I stopped in for dinner at Iguana's very recently. The place was not too busy and I could sit anywhere I wanted. The owner greeted me and brought out complementary crunchy tortilla chips & red tomato salsa. He also brought out homemade green salsa, which was very good. I ordered water, a Poland Spring bottle ($2) and the Chicken Fajitas ($13.50 plus tax) served with rice and black beans. The chicken fajitas were served very hot on a skillet with fresh red & green peppers, onions, yellow zucchini and tender strips of chicken breast, a bit oily on the skillet. The side plate had soft Mexican rice, cup of black beans, and a green salad with pico de gallo. There was no guacamole or sour cream on the plate. I did have to request warm soft tortillas (I got 2) after being served. The portion of food was very generous and I was very full, so no dessert. Overall, I had a good dinner at Iguana's. The food was fresh, tasty, and very filling. What I liked about this place is that it was laid back and not mobbed or very busy like the other sitdown Manchester Mexican restaurants including Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta, La Carreta, and Mi Jalisco. I actually had a good quiet dinner with the owner checking up on me to see how things were.
