Honestly we didn't know what to expect coming in, but we had a fantastic time and recommend this spot looking for an authentic, affordable, and delicious meal. The ambiance definitely felt very casual and was leaning towards a family-owned experience with the workers, decorations, and vibe. Service was pretty solid as well, but we were the only ones in the restaurant so it's not like they had many tables to wait along with ours. The menu had a good selection of entrees and everything wasn't super expensive despite sounding like a ton of food. I was right about the portions given when we were served, it was definitely enough for two meals. I ate half and had enough for the next day's lunch which was great. I would actually rate it more like a 3.5 and here is why. First, the food was really good! I will say that. We got the shrimp soup and 2 baleadas -- una sencilla (no meat) and one with steak. The soup was so good! It had lots of shrimp, plantains, yucca, and had a creamy coconut base. It also came with a side of rice and tortillas. The soup was a very large quantity and my fiancé and I almost struggled to finish it together. The baleadas were also yummy and large! I am removing some points because I noticed that they charged me more than what was on the menu. For example the baleada simple was labeled to be $3.50 but they added another dollar to the check. I was going to point it out the waitress but my fiancé felt shy so I said if we came back and it happened again. I would definitely bring it up. It is one of the few Honduran food spots and will be checking those other spots as well first, but will probably be back when I'm missing mi comida catracha. read more

Good food, bad service. I would give the service another try for the sake of the food but will probably try out other restaurants in the area first. Baleada con frijoles, crema, queso y huevo ($3.50). Surprisingly filling and tasty considering the simplicity of ingredients and the size of the baleada - would get again. Pollo Chaco ($13): This was very strange. The chicken was perfect, nice and crispy and there were a variety of veggies and ingredients on the plantains. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce. Wouldn't get again, but I was glad I tried it. Horchata: Delicious. Good prices, clean and homey restaurant. However, the waitress seemed a bit rude. She was speed-mumbling when talking to us so we could barely understand her. She did not appear to understand me half the time when I spoke in either English or Spanish and even my mother, who is a native Spanish speaker, could barely understand her. I love the food, but enough is enough.. Why doesn't anyone that answers the phone speak English?! So frustrating, I call to place an order and as soon as I ask for someone to take my order (in English) they put the phone down and I have to wait for 5 minutes just for someone who can speak English to take my order. I got the enchiladas hondurenas (pictured), and a tamale and a cashew juice. Note: the tamales don't have any filling. Food was very good. The cashew juice was sickeningly sweet and I barely drank it. Service was friendly, but at the end I had to wait and ask for my check after I said I was all done. Maybe it's a cultural difference from Honduras. Place has a diner type feel to it. Mostly spanish speaking and on menu, but wasn't an issue. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the wait for the check, and it took a little longer than expected for the food. Would give 3.5 stars if I could. read more

100% authentic Honduran style food, for breakfast or dinner always hot, fresh and authentic. Scratch made baliada Honduran tacos, any breakfast plate, seafood soup and whole fried fish plates are my favorites. Carne Asada steak plate and fried chicken/pork are well seasoned and filling. I usually take out and the food is always pipping hot and have fresh lime, salsa, creama and condiments in the bag. When I have time to sit down the have great beer and tequila options for a small place and live soccer, sports and novellas. I have never been disappointed, the wait can be long fri/sat/sun during dinner, so plan accordingly. read more

Tried this place out with a colleague for lunch. I ordered atol de elote (a sweet corn porridge-kind of hot drink) and was shyly informed by the server that they didn't have it available, because it was still cooking on the stove. Right in the middle of the day and despite there being a sign posted on the entrance door stating that product is readily available. It's also a regular item on the menu, so really? Okay. I ordered a super baleada and colleague ordered a steak baleada. Additionally, I got a banana soda and he ordered rice pudding with a coffee. His coffee came out with cream and sugar already in it, which he didn't order as such. Our baleadas were pitiful. The beans, cream, & cheese were little dollops in the center of the medium-large sized handmade flour tortilla. The steak in both baleadas was a decent amount and it was flavorful. The avocado slice in mine was not worthy of the tortilla ratio. Baleadas are typically eaten just with your hands, but I had to request utensils so we could spread out the ingredients from the center of the tortillas outward, in order to eat a properly constructed baleada! A different waitress that I requested the utensils from made a face and complained to our waitress about me requesting utensils for our meal, even going as far as asking our waitress what had we ordered again... Oh, and about the rice pudding? Our waitress informed us mid meal that there would be no rice pudding, because it burned on the stove as they were preparing it for my colleague...okay. We were in Boston for vacation and we ate there on 12/05/20 . The waitress was very rude and unhelpful. I don't have her name but she's the older one from Olancho. We all ordered cafe con leche and the coffee was cold. We told her the coffee was cold and she responded with" it's probably because of the milk." And she walked away. Wouldn't it be common sense to 1. Heat up the milk before adding it to the coffee . 2. Apologizing and then fixing the issue. She just rudely walked away My mom ordered tamalitos and the were COLD. As good as it gets for Honduran food in this area. Anyone complaining is not appreciating this restaurant for what it is: a no frills place bringing the Boston area a taste of Honduras to the best of their abilities. If they are out of something, guess what? It takes me back to the "no hay" days growing up in Tegucigalpa. Their baleadas (I get regular and add avocado), tacos (similar to Mexican flautas) and enchiladas are solid!! Honestly would of have it a bit higher but some of the drinks were a little bit off. That's the only complaint that I really have but the negative does not outweigh the positive. They are good and kind people. They treat you with respect and are helpful sometimes they are busy but that's normal.
