We ordered the following: - fish tacos (3) - flavor wise this fell flat for me. No punch of seasoning to the fish personally. - Birria tacos combo - fire combo. I just love birria style tacos. The Tajin Elote is a total flavor bomb; it was so delicious that we had to order an extra one to take home! The true highlight of the evening was the Enchiladas with Salsa Verde and Mole. I opted for the Soy Tinga option, and the combination of flavors and textures was amazing! I really appreciate that the vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options are not an afterthought for them. They taste just as authentic and high quality as the traditional dishes. The bar is extensive, and they offer many high end tequilas/mezcal, and craft cocktails. My Mezcal Paradise cocktail was perfectly balanced. The 4 Leches Cake was rich and creamy; it melts in your mouth! They sat us down. We waited over 20 minutes, nobody ever came to take our order so we got up and left. Place is also extremely cramped.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this little restaurant/bar - perfect for a date night or catching up with friends. We came on a weeknight so it was relatively quiet. We ended up ordering a couple drinks, a lavender margarita and a horchata, which were both tasty. I've definitely had better horchatas before, but the margarita was a unique flavor which I liked. For the table, we ordered chips and salsa verde, a beef birria chimichanga, and two tacos. We were shocked at how tasty the chips and dip were - both tasted extremely fresh and the salsa in particular had a lot of flavor. I also really enjoyed the chimichanga- there was so much birria inside that it definitely was worth the price! The only thing I really didn't like were their tacos... the toppings were a bit strange and didn't really work for me. Skip the tacos and get some of of the other dishes here! read more

Yum! I went on Taco Tuesday and what a great deal for delicious food and drinks. For $20 you get two tacos of your choice and a margarita. The food is fresh and plentiful. The yucca taco was stuffed and so tasty. I loved the chicken mole taco too. We split the tajin corn ribs appetizer and cleaned the plate. They have a big variety of margaritas and they are carefully made, generous, and so yummy. It's got a casual and lively vibe inside. The staff was friendly. Delicious savory broth, hardboiled egg(not soy soaked or runny), birria meat, and thin noodles. The service was fast and friendly. This is my FAVORITE Mexican place in the Boston-area hands down. I've brought several friends here and they all agree. The Taco Tuesday deal is great - for $20 you get 2 tacos and a marg. The tacos are pretty sizeable. The CHICKEN TACO is unlike anything I've ever tried. Please get it. Whatever sauce they're using is witchcraft. The birria ramen is so good. The food was mediocre at best, but the service is what truly upset me. They hardly came around to check on us, and when I finally went to the person myself who was also on their phone, (this was early in the morning as well, and only one waiter was there at the moment we could see) they immediately put their hand in my face, and said "no." then walked straight out of the place. Their Birria Tacos are the best I've had in the boston area to date- the margs and apps are great, and they do tequila tastings on Thursdays. I went on a weeknight and it was fairly busy but service was still good. I was obsessed with the birria and the empanadas. Finally found my go to Mexican restaurant in Somerville! I've been twice now and both times have been great. They have a large cocktail and drinks menu and have a rotating seasonal drink menu that is fun, so there is always something new to try (I've had two different sangrias and both have been yummy). They have the BEST chips here-- you can tell they fry them and make them fresh in house, I easily devour the whole basket. When I went most recently, I ordered a birria burrito and it was absolutely delicious (and huge portion!) For only $12 I got the massive burrito which also came with it's own side of chips and salsa. Additionally, the service is great and attentive (dropped my napkin and server brought me a new one without even having to ask). It's a cute and cozy space, with a little bit of parking near by which is nice. La Posada is definitely in my regular restaurant rotaation now and will be going back in the near future! read more

In love with their carne asada bowl! At first I thought I was going to be disappointed because of the portion size but it ended up being just the right about and made up for it in flavor. The beans were cooked perfect and didn't make the rice soggy. The cheese was melted over everything and the carne asada was cooked perfectly and seasoned great. I'm used to have meat chunks that are chewy, fatty, or pale looking but these were perfect! I wish there was more sour cream but that's just me being a sour cream fanatic. The guac tasted super fresh. The chips tasted homemade and were salted with the right about. The green salsa was mildly spicy. The flan was a bit too eggy for me; I'm more of a fan of the creamy kind. The tilapia fillets were excellent. The egg was cooked perfectly, the avocado was ripe, and the fish was well seasoned, and the breading was flaky and crunchy. The rice was good and the plantain was sweet and ripe. Got a chicken burrito with chipotle sauce on the side, and while the burrito was delicious on its own, the chipotle sauce brought it to a whole new level.
