I had rice and beans from here once from a catered lunch. Unfortunately this was the only vegan item they had ordered so I didn't get to try much, but the rice and beans were really good. Their regular menu has a lot of vegan options so I would love to come in person.
So good! The food was all so delicious and portions are large. We split the pork belly and yuca to start. The pork belly was rich and tender, pairing super well with the fried starchiness of the yuca. I ordered the chicken enchiladas which were so so delicious-- packed with chicken and doused in a slightly sweet sauce. The beef birria chimichanga was cheesy and packed with rice and beans. Would love to come back to try more. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, feels like a very sweet neighborhood spot.
Went to this place 3x in 2 weeks... yeah I think I recommend it! The server recommended something (have already forgotten its name) but I fully trusted him and it was DELISH!!! Great margaritas, cool ambience. Sat out on the porch when it was a nice evening.
La Posada is a flavorful gem with incredible service! They go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and their food is even better! The Tajin Elote is a total flavor bomb; it was so delicious that we had to order an extra one to take home! The true highlight of the evening was the Enchiladas with Salsa Verde and Mole. I opted for the Soy Tinga option, and the combination of flavors and textures was amazing! I really appreciate that the vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options are not an afterthought for them. They taste just as authentic and high quality as the traditional dishes. The bar is extensive, and they offer many high end tequilas/mezcal, and craft cocktails. My Mezcal Paradise cocktail was perfectly balanced. The 4 Leches Cake was rich and creamy; it melts in your mouth! The restaurant has a vibrant and cozy atmosphere, with bright colors to match the lively Latin American theme. They are open late, making it a popular late-night spot. I highly recommend Meatless Mondays, and I can't wait to come back and try more of their vegetarian soy options!
Really enjoyed my visit last night. My friend and I tried their Halloween drinks, tacos, and guacamole. The tacos were respectable size so two is a good serving. Service was friendly and attentive. They did accidentally give us a round of mocktails instead of the requested cocktails but they were so good I am deducting a star.
Stopped in for some late night food. Started off with a classic corona and some chips and salsa verde. The waiter recommended we also try the jalapeño queso--it was good! We then ordered the birria tacos and 3 pupusas. All were good and hit the spot so late at night. Food came out fairly quickly as well The vibes in here were also chill and I liked the lighting especially around the bar. Check this spot out!

We ended up ordering a couple drinks, a lavender margarita and a horchata, which were both tasty. I've definitely had better horchatas before, but the margarita was a unique flavor which I liked. For the table, we ordered chips and salsa verde, a beef birria chimichanga, and two tacos. We were shocked at how tasty the chips and dip were - both tasted extremely fresh and the salsa in particular had a lot of flavor. I also really enjoyed the chimichanga- there was so much birria inside that it definitely was worth the price! The only thing I really didn't like were their tacos... the toppings were a bit strange and didn't really work for me. Skip the tacos and get some of of the other dishes here!

Birria ramen is quality! It is an interesting idea and the first I've tried. Apparently it's the new avocado toast. Delicious savory broth, hardboiled egg(not soy soaked or runny), birria meat, and thin noodles. The service was fast and friendly. While waiting for our take out they got us waters and kept them filled. The restaurant is a great vibe and I will be coming back. Well done La Posada!
Truly amazing. I just went for the first time, and did not expect it to be this good. The specialties are Tacos and Margaritas I am blown away by how good the food was as well as the service. Possibly the best customer service I've ever had in a restaurant. They were very attentive, friendly, and all had great attitudes. Going above and beyond!! It's very rare that I go to a restaurant where I tell myself that I want to come back. Cozy atmosphere with happy music. Not too bright and not too dark. Great for bringing friends, family, and co-workers. Adding to list of new favorites. Highly recommend. The Manager Joe is also awesome and an expert of Tequila

Food seems hit or miss so things we ordered were: - polla a la plancha: chicken was dry and menu deceiving. Said the chicken was served with rice, beans, corn salad, and plantains. But it turned out that you can only get 2 out of the 4. Menu should definitely change the wording. Chicken was dry. Salad was ok. Plaintains were tasty though! - beef birria ramen - too salty but interesting - beef birria chimichanga - friend said it was really food - steak & shrimp tacos - a little dry Service wise, it was okay. I think it was just a little difficult to communicate sometimes.
Good food. Good service. Ambience was nice on a Sunday evening. We ordered a mango habañero wings for the table. These were really good. Although they are saucy wings, the crunchy flour batter held up well underneath. Would order again. I got the pork belly taco and the fish taco. The size of the tacos were a good size, I struggled to finish the 3rd taco on top of trying the wings. The pork belly taco was ok, was a bit firm. The fish taco was really good. I want to try the shrimp taco next time. Ordered a barbie shot as well, I don't shots so I took my time sipping it. It lives up to the name Barbie! read more
Late night stopped in for a friend's bday meal! Ended up at La posada! I must say the gentleman that was working the bar also served our table was super chill and he communicates well. We ordered the following: - fish tacos (3) - flavor wise this fell flat for me. No punch of seasoning to the fish personally. - Birria tacos combo - fire combo. I just love birria style tacos. Highlight for me hot and well cooked beef, tender. - Birria chimichanga (2) this is hefty, i thought this was a good chimichanga, i would probably ask for extra sauce next go around, it got a bit dry without it. - carne asada enchiladas, the lady enjoyed this, carne was moist and tender. - pork belly & yuca loved the pork belly originally thought it was more like a chicharron dish but enjoyed this style , the yuca wasn't my jam. - tajin elote (2) love tajin elotes so no complaints! - churro espresso Great spot, great service. read more
We were looking for a late night snack and ended up at La Posada Restaurant in Somerville! They have delicious food & amazing service, we really had no complaints. This is what we ordered when we visited: - fish tacos (3) - Birria tacos combo - Birria chimichanga (2) - carne asada enchiladas - pork belly & yuca - tajin elote (2) - churro espresso martini Everything was very good! I would probably skip on the fish tacos next time just because it wasn't really my thing but everything else was tasty. The Birria tacos and Birria chimichanga were out of this world... my favorites out of everything we ordered. Very flavorful and generous portion sizes. Honestly we ordered way more than we could eat lol but they made for the best leftovers the next day. Read as 3.5 stars. Guacamole was fresh and chips were warm. Guacamole was on the simple side, and only had tomatoes added to it. Ordered shrimp, fish and yuca tacos - the shrimp was defintely the better option of the 3. While all 3 were good - the toppings were the same on all tacos. I think by varying the toppings they can enhance flavors more. Overall food was good but nothing amazing. Service was friendly and attentive. Plenty of metered parking around. read more

I almost don't want to give away how much of a hidden gem this place is because I don't want to lose it to the masses haha. But I'm obsessed. This is my FAVORITE Mexican place in the Boston-area hands down. I've brought several friends here and they all agree. The Taco Tuesday deal is great - for $20 you get 2 tacos and a marg. The tacos are pretty sizeable. The CHICKEN TACO is unlike anything I've ever tried. Please get it. Whatever sauce they're using is witchcraft. The birria ramen is so good. Their rotating list of margs is fun and creative. Everyone who works here is so chill, and I appreciate their extensive knowledge of tequila and mezcal. Can't wait to sit on the patio when it opens for summer! read more

SUCH an underrated spot!! I can't believe La Posada isn't talked about more. Their Birria Tacos are the best I've had in the boston area to date- the margs and apps are great, and they do tequila tastings on Thursdays. I went on a weeknight and it was fairly busy but service was still good. I was obsessed with the birria and the empanadas. You also either need to get a dish that comes with plantains (like the crispy shrimp dish I got) or get a side of them because they were incredible. Will 100% be coming back! read more

Finally found my go to Mexican restaurant in Somerville! I've been twice now and both times have been great. They have a large cocktail and drinks menu and have a rotating seasonal drink menu that is fun, so there is always something new to try (I've had two different sangrias and both have been yummy). They have the BEST chips here-- you can tell they fry them and make them fresh in house, I easily devour the whole basket. When I went most recently, I ordered a birria burrito and it was absolutely delicious (and huge portion!) For only $12 I got the massive burrito which also came with it's own side of chips and salsa. Additionally, the service is great and attentive (dropped my napkin and server brought me a new one without even having to ask). It's a cute and cozy space, with a little bit of parking near by which is nice. La Posada is definitely in my regular restaurant rotaation now and will be going back in the near future! read more

In love with their carne asada bowl! At first I thought I was going to be disappointed because of the portion size but it ended up being just the right about and made up for it in flavor. The beans were cooked perfect and didn't make the rice soggy. The cheese was melted over everything and the carne asada was cooked perfectly and seasoned great. I'm used to have meat chunks that are chewy, fatty, or pale looking but these were perfect! I wish there was more sour cream but that's just me being a sour cream fanatic. The guac tasted super fresh. The chips tasted homemade and were salted with the right about. The green salsa was mildly spicy. The flan was a bit too eggy for me; I'm more of a fan of the creamy kind. The tilapia fillets were excellent. The egg was cooked perfectly, the avocado was ripe, and the fish was well seasoned, and the breading was flaky and crunchy. The rice was good and the plantain was sweet and ripe. Easily two meals in one because of how big of a portion it is. read more

Finally found a good place in the area for Latin American food! We had a large group and was able to make a reservation. Really enjoyed the birria tacos - they were SO crispy and the pork was tender! The margaritas were great too! Very fun and festive restaurant! The restaurant was very packed with people and sometimes it was hard to get the servers' attention. Probably the best Mexican food I've ever had. It has sufficiently amount of meat in the tacos and empanadas. The serving size is more than enough and the flavours are authentic. I really liked the Birria Tacos! Even for takeout, the sauce came on the side and the food was still hot when it arrived. Definitely recommend grabbing takeout from here! read more

Had such a great time at La Posada! The service was great, ambiance was SO fun, and the food all came out steaming and delicious. We loved their margs, as well!! Would recommend to anyone in the area - it was a great dinner and I bet it would be equally as great for lunch or on a chill weekend day :) Top 3 orders: 1. Mango margarita - sweet but not too sweet and the rim was delicious!! Had to get another round, I really enjoyed this as a start to the meal and the flavor went perfectly with all our food. I also love mango, so this didn't disappoint. As an added bonus, the margarita glasses are so cute!! 2. Tequenos - I've never tried these before but will be keeping a close eye out for them on any menus in the future!! SO delicious. Kind of a thicker and crunchier puff pastry wrapped around a generous bite of chewy cheese. So so good - and the dipping sauce was perfection! 3. 4 leches cake - not sure what the fourth leche was given I feel like it's usually a 3 leches cake, but this was SO good. Extremely decadent from start to finish, but literally the perfect end to our meal. The frosting was delicious and I love the denseness at the bottom!! This place is a winner - I can't wait to come back for more :) read more
