5 STARS! I was a first time client on Saturday and literally booked my appointment online at 7am and let the Salon choose my stylist. I lucked out with Claudia! I was either staying long and going brunette or chopping off many inches and going blonder. We weighed the pros and cons and decided that with the greys I have peeking through, I could go longer between appointments with the blonde. Also, my long hair was always in a ponytail so it was not serving any purpose. Long story short...I LOVE it! Pictures are before, desired look and after. The salon was not overly crowded and the vibe was relaxing and down to earth. I did not have 4 people working on my hair so I wasn't confused on how many people to tip. I have been going here for over 15 years. Everybody is friendly and they have an extraordinary customer service that I cannot find in most salons. They really care about my experience as a customer. Rebecca is the BEST!! I recommend everybody I know to come here for cuts and color. Best mens haircut(s) I've ever had. Better than my go-to barber in nyc. I decided to try a new place, a salon over a barber shop this time, to fix my head of hair that was going down hill due to my last experience. It was looking like a rag if not combed, comical. I try to stick with a barber for a while, it just took some time for it to get so bad. I picked Shawn as my stylist, she made me feel comfortable and did a great job. I talked her through what I wanted and she clipped away to get me a nice fade. It was a huge improvement. She fixed my problem. Shawn expressed such a better understanding of my hair, I knew I'd be back. She was also easy to talk to and I'm not much of a talker. I went back to the same salon a month later and picked a new stylist because Shawn wasn't available. I was a little nervous I had to go with someone new BUT Rebecca was also amazing. This salon made me feel top priority, no fluff like I've experienced at past barbers... backed by now two of the most skilled people I've ever seen work scissors, buzzers and mens hair. Rebecca was so nice and respectful to what I wanted, she asked questions but I could tell I just needed to let her cut. She's really good, I also liked her work style which isn't something I pay much attention to particularly. She tried to spark a conversation but I was so distracted with her working my hair and the great service I wasn't much of one. Any guy who needs to look their best will not be disappointed. I'm glad he did, and I'm extra glad for second chances, bc I love my hair!! Emily worked on my color, and Heather washed it and gave me a blow out. Both ladies were super professional and completely skilled at what they do. I usually can't decide what color I want my hair, but Emily was able to figure it out. I really love my hair color!! And on top of it, Heather was great. She was so thorough when washing my hair and gave an amazing massage.. And she gave me the best blow out of my life. Terrible Management! First of all I would like to state that this salon is probably one of the best for color. They're better then places I've paid twice as much going to in New York City. They're blow-outs and stylings are also very well done and creative. I'm also never disappointed by their cuts. All in all, the stylists are top-notch. The problem that I've had with this salon (multiple times) is with their reception and how they schedule appointments. If it weren't for the stylists I would've switched salons long ago. I've been coming here for 2 years on a regular basis, refer clientele, tip 20+% (stylist and helpers), and spend between 250 and 350 each visit. Yet, my time is never valued and I continually feel disrespected because of it. Not only have I been double booked with other clients, my appointment time has been cut short altogether. I've also found that they've lost the logs of my hair color so that I can't get the same color I had previous visits. Management nor reception never apologizes. I'm convinced they think this is normal. My last visit was the most disappointing. I offered to go for my usual on a weekday day when the salon was not busy but they insisted I would have enough time and not be double booked if I came on Friday. I was also told that my color was on the books. When I arrived (on-time) for my confirmed appointment, I found they had given it away to a walk-in. They did not alert me beforehand or tell me how long the wait would be so that I could get lunch. Instead they kept telling me my stylist would be with me in "just a few minutes." I ended up sitting there for over an hour waiting for her. As a result, my appointment went so late that I missed my dinner reservations (Not mention that I had canceled a lunch reservation in the first place so that I could arrive on time.) An additional consequence of the appointment going late was that I was asked to pay before I could see the finished product (the foils were still in my hair). Why?... because reception wanted to close up early. Once everything was finished I realized I didn't get the color I requested from my log. (I am now blond rather than auburn). I guess they forgot to record it or lost it again :( To make matters worse, reception made me feel like a nuisance the entire time and I received no apologies. I love my stylist but I can't stand having my time and hard-earned money devalued. read more

The salon is such a great place. I go there every time I need a hair cut or new style. The people who work there are very welcoming and friendly and make you feel comfortable throughout your visit. I have only received makeup application services at Antonino. I cannot speak to any other salon service or experience there other than the one received by Reagan Hart. She is a phenomenal makeup artist (with great emphasis on the meaning of the word ARTIST). She showed me pointers and applied makeup beautifully. I felt natural and pretty because of her. Reagan's input helped me feel confident making purchases at a local makeup store after our session. If you have ever felt that dread that comes with professional makeup application, have no fear with Reagan. She will NOT have you running to the bathroom faucet afterwards...True story, this has happened to me (and many others whom I know). I have to say I could not disagree more with the last review on here. I have been going to Antonino Salon since I moved to Michigan just 8 years ago. It was recommended from a family member and I thought I would give them a try. I have lots and lots of hair and I am very particular when it comes to coloring or styling my hair. By nature my hair is very curly so when I go to a salon I do like to leave there with it blown dry straight for a nice change. It usually will last me 3-5 days. I love the way they take the time to work with my hair. They have been coloring and styling my hair for 8 going on 9 years now. I have always had great experiences and then I was in there about two weeks ago to get it colored for a photo shoot I will be doing this next weekend. For some reason my hair did not quite turn out the color that was planned. So I did mention it before I left the salon and was told that I could come back in the next few days and have it taken care of at no charge to me. I thought how great and was very impressed at the customer service that was offered to me. They made me feel very comfortable asking and did not judge me at all. So I did go back and had it redone but alas my darker hair just would not cooperate but I left there feeling confident it would be ok. After returning home it still was not quite perfect and I am a perfectionist. So again I called and one of the owners said no problem come on back in and apologized to me since I had to come back in. Honestly I felt as if I was probably being too picky about the whole thing. So today I went in and now my hair is perfect and photo shoot ready. All I can say is "Thanks" so much for making my experience wonderful and taking care of me to the fullest. Everyone was pleasant and happy to be around. Tony did an amazing job of coloring my hair and was so patient and attentive to detail - even though the process took nearly 6 hours (longer than expected), Tony and the other employees were so accommodating and stayed late just to finish my hair. Let me start by saying I am super particular about my hair. I go for a very natural blonde that I have found very few people capable of creating for me, and I don't splurge on much, but I'm willing to pay big bucks for it to be perfect! Not only did my stylist at Antonino give me a super bleached look (after complimenting what I had going on and saying I "shouldn't change it a bit"), but my cut was that of somebody who didn't understand how hair behaves despite my very detailed explanation about certain techniques that I have learned through so many bad cuts that my very fine but very thick hair just doesn't like. Finally, I don't know if I had an allergic reaction to the dye they use (have been coloring my hair since I was 13 and have never had a problem before, but I do have sensitive skin so it's possible) or if she just left it on for too long, but my scalp was a painful, itchy disaster for three days and didn't return to its normal state for a month. I also didn't like the layout of this salon. I walked into the door and there was a desk that looked like the check in desk, but nobody was there. The rest of the view is blocked off by a wall, so I couldn't see into the actual salon. I stood there for a few minutes before venturing past the wall to find a bustling salon with a desk that was clearly the check-in. She then pointed me back to the original area to hang up my own coat. This isn't a big deal really, but I guess I'm used to the salon being a pampering experience and believe they should take your coat for you. read more

I am very particular about my hair, salons and stylists and have visited many salons in the Birmingham and Royal Oak areas in the last 25 years. Anthony and Antonino Salon will be my last stop. Finally an unpretentious but beautiful salon and the staff is helpful and friendly. Anthony is the first stylist (Artist) that has taken into account the natural state of my hair, even without my asking. Instead of trying to mold my hair into some style that goes against my texture and wave and would require a lot of styling and maintenance, he spoke to me about my lifestyle, what I usually do with my hair, etc. I came away with a PRECISION cut that suits ME. I called Antonino's in a panic when another salon in town, Bianchi's called to push back my appointment by 45 and that I had made weeks in advance. I had a very important function to attend and I was headed directly to the event after my blow out. My wedding was less than two weeks away and I was in desperate need of a color and cut that would not only compliment me but also allow me to have the up do that I really wanted. After a failed hair trial at a salon I booked hair and makeup with I was devastated until a family member called me to say her stylist, Anthony would get me in for a cut and color.
