Their employees usually seem rude. Their food is usually good, but not great relative to similar establishments. Overall I recommend this place if you need something to eat late at night, or you really want a drive-through for convenience. Unsure why their staff seem rude even if it's not busy. It wasn't always this way. If you speak English at the drive-through, they'll respond in Spanish (even though they speak English also). Last time I went in, they handed me my food, and while I began to ask for salsas, I was interrupted with "have a nice day." and closing their window. I find their behavior strange these days, and not very accommodating (I've visited for years). Just being straight forward.. this is a fast food place.. I like their burritos and carne asada fries.. They also have great salsa and probably some of the best menudo in town! However, their other plates are overall not great. This isn't and won't ever be a place where I come for a sit in dinner again.. My shrimp plate was not good, including both the rice and beans.. It was one of the only spots open after a concert so we would stop here for a burrito after coming back to Escondido. I love their breakfast burrito with sausage. I haven't ventured out much on the menu which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. I haven't tried more than maybe 2 items there. What I like about them is that they are always open. I haven't eaten inside for years and probably wouldn't now. It can feel a little sketchy in the area in the middle of the night but I can always depend on them. I came here for two reasons: according to Yelp, the California burritos are good, AND the customer service is the worst. Well I love adventure (and horror), and since this place has a perfect 100% Health Department score, I had to try it. I came it at 11:30am and asked for the California burrito. The lady behind the counter was friendly. She smiled. Borderline flirtatious, but hey, I'm pretty hot. heh heh. So no bad issues at all with customer service. The burrito was pretty good but it did not have guacamole. Damn. A California burrito is basically a carne asada burrito with fries. My guess is the bad customer service starts at night. I'll have to come back at night to test that theory. The hours say closed on Tuesdays. Today is Tuesday and they're open. Nobody in the drive-through (It's raining pretty hard). Oh wait, here comes a car... 20 seconds to order. 6 seconds to drive from the order menu to the window. 4 minutes and 40 seconds to get their stuff and start driving away. Not too bad. Went through the drive through at around 6 am for a famous California Burrito and a taco of Bistec Ranchero. I said "No Pico" on the Cali just sour cream, Guacamole and cheese. Then she says there's no way I could do a Bistec ranchero "Taco".. the only tacos Available are what you see on the menu and I was like okay well I don't need a whole combo plate so just the burrito.. I was met with a long pause. So I started all over trying to keep it 'Simple' and added some sautéed jalapeños this time. once I got to the window the lady seemed annoyed and said it was $12.66 so I hand her $12.00 as I'm counting my coins she slams the window on me so I'm thinking she doesn't want the rest? So I stop and set the coins aside min later she opens back up and sticks her hand back out I started counting again. Finally got my burrito and jalapeños and she got her change and didn't get asked for salsa good thing I checked so I asked her and she asks for the bag back and threw in 3.
