Over the years we have stopped in and eaten here many times. Looking back on my memory I'd have to say that I don't think I've ever been disappointed. Today after afternoon at the local horse track we decide to stop in again. Today we chose a large pepperoni and sausage pizza. As you can see from the picture, it had plenty of pepperoni and sausage covering the pizza. It was perfectly cooked to our taste. Nothing burnt nothing over crunchy but also not soft. The taste was really good with the sausage having a really nice flavor , took over the pizza. As for the service: Nice young fella seem to be very quiet spoken, took care of us. Checked on us several times and was very polite. As for the location: over these years of visiting, I don't think it's ever changed. And I have to say that we have visited here for more than 10 years a couple times each year. Seems clean and very well taken care of. So if in the area visiting the local gaming room or placing a couple wagers on the ponies and you're hungry, go ahead and stop and have a nice meal read more

Came here to grab a pizza and hoagie. Antonio's is located in a small shopping center right by the Exxon gas station. I got our order to go and a pleasant young lady at the register took the order: large sausage and pepperoni pizza and a steak and cheese hoagie. They said it would be about a 15 minute wait. The interior was inviting and the ambiance was as an Italian pizza shop should be. Our order was ready. The pizza was just okay...it satisfied our appetite. Now that hoagie...it was not the best. The ratio of meat to bread was questionable. You could take the meat from this entire hoagie and place it on half of the hoagie and it still would not be enough....AND they wanted $5 for extra meat! Do better Antonio's. Now I'm not the end all be all when it comes to hoagies/subs, but I have had my share and they have been far better. All in all, when Antonio's fixes that minuscule meat to bread ratio on that steak and cheese hoagie, I may (MAY!) come back to try it again, but I wouldn't hold my breath... read more

Ordered it to go on my way from grocery shopping to home. Not bad, but not great. Crust was thin and was cooked on the bottom mushrooms a tad squeaky, if you know what I mean, sausage is sliced thin, donar kabob style. First time having sausage in this style. Flavor was not bad, could've used a few more shavings of sausage. All in all i will probably not get pizza if i stop in again, maybe I'll try the Stromboli. read more

The elderly woman who owns this place...RUDE. Her poor staff are treated like dogs. Went one time and food was decent. Went back a second time and one of the people in our party had their phone go off they answered and she came over screaming NO CELL PHONES! Sorry but your little podunk restaurant in a shopping center without adequate parking isn't justifiable for that request. I gladly got up told her "these phones pay our bills as it's our customers, and in turn we are your customer and are here to spend our money. But we will gladly not spend any money here. Driving west from Norfolk, we had a hankering for Italian and stopped at Antonio's for a quick bite. Even though pizza is in the name, we opted for the pasta. And what caught my attention was the Antonio's Special: Greek Spaghetti Dinner. Basic marinara sauce on well-cooked spaghetti noodles, but mixed with black olives and banana peppers and feta cheese, then baked with mozzarella on top. It hit the spot! I love the bite and crunch of banana peppers mixed with the dark saltiness of black olives. Definitely a dish worth trying. My wife and I stopped in to this Italian restaurant on our way back home and we were pleasantly surprised. The food here is excellent. The best homemade mozzarella sticks I've ever had, the meat lovers stromboli is very good. We were so impressed by the quality of the food that we ordered a beef lasagna and a slice Limoncello cake to go (the cake was so good that after eating it I wished we would have bought the entire cake). Our waiter was great, very professional and attentive. We also had a very nice conversation with Antonio the owner, he is a very nice and humble man, we promised him that the next time we were in town we would come back to eat there. I absolutely love foldable big slices of pizza. This place has it! The lunch special is two slices and a canned drink. Unlimited paper towels on the table to dab a bit of grease from the pepperoni which I appreciated. Newsmax playing on the TV; I am a fan. Simple no-frills service in a clean restaurant that seats many more people inside than what you would think from the outside. Went out for dinner on a Saturday night, not very busy. We got the small pizza and beers and it was good. Reasonable priced too. Services was ok. Mushrooms on the pizza, appeared to be from a can vs. fresh cut- will not get mushrooms again. Ordered bananas peppers and got green instead. We got kicked out of the establishment by the owner/manager when my husband went to pay for our meal at the front. He saw the server that we had the time before, who was kind and friendly. He let her know he had sent her information about volunteer opportunities for college and her resume, if she was still interested, per our previous interactions. The manager kicked us out on the spot FOR LIFE and said we were trying to steal her employee, and it was already hard for her to get and keep employees. We denied we would ever do such a thing, tried to speak cordially with her, and explain ourselves, even apologizing for the misunderstanding, but she wouldn't listen to anything we said. She just kept repeating that we were not welcome there anymore. She even told me to get my husband under control when he was standing quietly by my side the entire time. The employees cowered; they seemed afraid of her. If she treats customers like this, how is she treating her staff? This is a small town. I don't understand why she'd kick out customers for life who were only trying to be friendly. What a shame. Our server was wonderful and the kids liked the food. read more

I have stopped in a few times here when I work in the area. One time we were traveling to VA Beach and stopped in with the family. Every time I have had a good experience. First time in we had table service. Service was great. Everything came out quick and hot. The staff is always very nice. Last few time I went in alone and it has been quite due to COVID. I asked what was popular as a hero and got the steak and cheese. It was good. When I was waiting I saw they had a special for 2 pepperoni slices and a soda for $5.50 i think. Not 100% sure on the price. But I go that because it is hard to find a place in VA that serves pizza by the slice. The slices were nice and big. I do like Antonio's Pizza. It was a happenstance walkin when I found myself in the New Kent Commons shopping center 2 1/2 weeks ago. I ordered to go: A medium White Pizza (Ricotta Cheese, Mozzarella Cheese, Tomato & Fresh Garlic) + 2 extra toppings (Feta, Bacon); and Antonios Steak Supreme Hoagie (Cheese, Fried Green Peppers, Onions & Mushrooms, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo). Five minutes later, I requested to add French Fries to my order. No problem. Perhaps 15 minutes later, my order came up, $32.64, and I was out the door. At home... French Fries first. Still piping hot, they were firmly in the "okay" category. I ate and enjoyed every bite, but I would not order them again. Next, Antonios Steak Supreme Hoagie. Very good. I did add a bit of Mayo, and enjoyed half that same night and half the next day. I probably won't order it again, but only because I want to try their many other sandwiches & subs. (Notably the Italian Hoagie, Gyro, and Bologna Burger.) On to the White Pizza. Oh, my! Unfortunately I then had room only for one slice, and another slice several hours later. The remaining slices kept me pleasantly full all the next day. I gotta have more of that. Antonio's is clean, the lady behind the counter was very helpful. Whoever owns this restaurant seriously needs to take a look at who you hired! The old lady who works here is incredibly rude and has zero customer service skills! So rude in fact, it was comical! When I walked in with my dog to see if I could get a menu she immediately marched over and aggressively told me I had to get out because of the dog ( fair enough ) as I was just saying 'yes no problem, I just wanted to get a menu..) she cut me off and told me to leave and if I wanted to eat I'd have to eat outside. Again , I thought fair enough ... bit rude , but ok. I then collected the rest of the family togetherand sat outside on the picnic tables. When I went back in to make an order, she sarcastically asked me if I was foreign ( I am) because thats probably why I didn't understand what she said before and I wasn't allowed on the premises AT ALL and I could order take away.... Kids were hungry, so I said ok I'll order take away? I decided to put the dog in the car and sat outside to wait for the takeaway box. She rolled her eyes and the poor young boy who worked with her, apologised to me! After we ate and put the take away box in the trash can outside, she again came marching out and shouted at my daughter not to put it in that trash can!! My daughter said that there wasnt any other trash cans and she thought it would be rude to leave it on the table, the old lady then shouted at her that SHE was rude and slammed the door on us. Then 2 minutes later came back to padlock the patio gates, so we couldn't come back in??! Let me start off by saying the pizza and bread sticks were very good and the portion size was a lot bigger than expected. We took home more pizza than we ate. Inside the restaurant was nice and clean as was the bathroom. Now the reason for the 1-star review. The older lady, didn't get her name, who was at the front and was a server was VERY RUDE and had no customer service skills! We were traveling from Duck, North Carolina back home to Indianapolis, Indiana and we just happened to take the exit where the pizza shop was to get gas. Everyone was ready for lunch, saw the pizzeria and decided that would be a good place to get lunch and stop for a bit. My oldest, 16 year old, doesn't care for pizza (IKR), so she got a cheeseburger at Dairy Queen which was right next door. Not thinking much about it we went inside the pizzeria and I told her to bring her cheeseburger and she could eat inside with us. The older lady walked over saying "uh no ma'am, no ma'am, no outside food" "no ma'am, no ma'am" in a very condescending tone. So my husband went outside with her so she could eat. I had picked up a to-go menu to look at at our table so we could order. I should mention, no one greeted us when we walked in and apparently it was a seat yourself joint but with no sign indicating so. The reason I picked up the to-go menu. The older lady walked over pushed the for here menu on the table and then snatched up the to-go menu I had and walked away. Now these 2 menus were exactly the same so I'm not sure why it mattered. If that were the end of it I would have left the pizzeria not giving a second thought and probably not posting this review. While we were waiting for our order, both my kids were on their phones, 16 year old and 10 year old, and neither one had the media volume turned up, it was off actually. I was talking with my mother in law who was checking in to see how the trip back home was going. While talking to her the older women came over to our table looking right at my oldest telling her to turn her phone down. At this point I'm pissed cause neither one of my kids were doing anything wrong or bothering anyone. I would not have minded anything she said if she would have been somewhat respectful instead of treating us like we were a family of hobos who had just stepped off the train. We recently moved to the area and tried 90% of the pizza places. The food at Antonio's is the best out of the ones we tried. My husband loved the pizza and Lobster raviolis. I love the white pizzas and the gyros. Really we have not had anything we have not liked. The Cannolis are so good! I have it a 4 star because one day I went to go have dinner but there was small dog sitting on the table so we did not go in. The owner a older woman waved us off and told us to sit anywhere except the tables were not cleaned off. We waited for our waitress to clean off the table. The owner came over with a glass of wine, I made the mistake of sipping my friends wine. The owner was watching our every move. After our meal my friend asked the waitress if he could get another glass of wine. The owner went cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs! Told my friend no more wine unless her ordered more food, then she turned to me and stated she watched me drink his wine and that was against the ABC laws, shame on you if you were a responsible alcohol drinker you should know the ABC Laws. You should not ask the waitress for alcohol she is underage, look at her she's a baby. This owner was clearly off her meds! It gets worse, she then preceded to lecture us regarding her made up rules about 1 drink per meal. There are no such rules posted, " it's my own rule!" This owner made us feel so uncomfortable. Did I mention we are adults in our mid-50's. We are an interracial couple and I'm not one who suggest racial profiling But this owner reeked of poor people skills, bad manners and just plain ugliness. The food was not all that impressive. Unfortunately, there aren't many restaurants out here, and my daughter and husband decided that pizza was what they wanted. End of story. The decor in this place is disgusting. After ordering by phone on Friday, I walked into Antonio's in New Kent at the same time I was wrapping up a cell phone call with my mother. Three women stood behind the counter with their hands clasped in front of them all looking at me. I figured they were waiting for me to say my last name so I stated my last name. No one moved. They all stared at me. I repeated my last name while telling my mother I needed to go. From the staff of three: Nothing. No response. Like deer in headlights. One of the three then said they couldn't take my order while I was on my phone. I became confused because I had already ordered. She angrily asked me if I needed her to point to the sign. (A handwritten, poor grammar, confusing paper posted behind the counter.) Before I go on, I am not a fan of folks on their phones while trying to do business. I get it. It is rude which is why I was wrapping up my call. But the threatening tone, belligerence, angry demeanor and attack mode from two seconds after I walked in the door was odd and uncomfortable. I felt intimidated, I put the phone down on the counter without even remembering to hang up. I told them I was confused (because I thought they were telling me they were waiting to TAKE my order.) At that point, the woman became even more aggressive, irritated, argumentative. My brain was trying to process, explain that I had already ordered, when the same woman said in a mocking tone,, "Do you want me to write the word "here" on the sign?" Somehow I was eventually able to convey that I was picking up a previously ordered but by that time I was made to feel so uncomfortable, belittled, attacked. I paid, feeling stunned. I was asked if I wanted anything else. I replied that the only thing left was for me to leave a bad review online at which time the woman leaned forward and in a raised voice yelled, "Good, YOU WERE THE ONE WHO WAS RUDE!" Wow. Pizza and a personal attack. The pizza was mediocre. We won't be retuning, even if it was the last restaurant on the planet. Shame because we are big believers in supporting locally owned businesses. We ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta, and the chicken was rubbery, the sauce was pretty much water and the "bread stick" was literally identical to a sub bun. We've not been to Williamsburg before, and we were heading there, and hubby wanted pizza tonight, and we didn't want any franchise style pizza! The 1st pizza restaurant we saw along the interstate was Antonio's, and we stopped right away. We could sit anywhere we wanted, they weren't very busy, but the server has no knowledge about a lot of things: their special, their meatballs, each time she can't answer, she goes & ask someone. Anyway, we ordered the 12" with 4 toppings. I liked the crust, and I thought their pizza was good! The salad that came with it, the dressing was too sour. But I got used to it. The lettuce, I took several brown spots, one looked so chewed up by worms, it looks grossed . . . . and put those aside. I did that, before I added the salad dressing. Another negative? They have back-to-back benches, like those in churches, and when you get up, you actually forgot they're benches, and you'll end up bumping your thigh to the arm-rest! Ouch! When we left, I could have added an extra star for the BEAUTIFUL SUNSET, as we pulled out the parking lot! But I won't. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because I love salads and they use iceberg lettuce for their Greek salad and the Caesar salad. I prefer a Spring mix or Romaine lettuce. I decided to give this place one more try. The first time we tried it the pizza was so thin the little bit of cheese that was on it slid right off. Now I've tried the shrimp basket, fries, and fried pickles. Shrimp was the type of popcorn shrimp you buy frozen in the grocery store and throw in a fryer. The fries were crinkled cut (yay) but undercooked. The fried pickles had no flavor and I'm left with wasted food. Bill was over $16. I imagined what Chef Ramsey would say about the food and realized it wasn't in my head. The best part though was how the lady behind the counter completely ignored me and never once looked up to greet me. Maybe because I'm not a regular? Who knows.
