I believe, that they have the best grits that I found anywhere. If they're not loose and runny, they're not hard and sticky, but they're right in the middle where you can use a fork if you want to. The eggs tasted fresh, I raised chickens and I know fresh eggs when I eat them. The French toast was done to perfection. Lightly golden soft in the middle with cinnamon on top. The biscuits and gravy was phenomenal! With my two pancakes and grits I had probably the best hashbrowns cooked to perfection! You know how some places you go in the hashbrowns are overcooked and they're crunchy some people like that my hashbrowns as well as my son's, or done with a very tiny lightly brown surface with an excellent flavor. They're very generous with their bacon usually other restaurants will give you two pieces of bacon. Here we received four or five each, which is excellent and the bacon taste good as well and it's always cooked to perfection, not too wiggly and not too crunchy. It's always perfect right in between. And on your plate, you get small slices of fruit as an added extra bonus. They're fresh and just the right amount and the right amount of thickness. I can't say enough good things about Boulevard family restaurant. I've been back so many times and I will continue bringing people in and if you have not yet tried Boulevard family restaurant. Several of us are nurses working tonight and placed a group order from El Cerrito. These were individual meals for different people, not food ordered for everyone to share. Our order included three separate queso fundidos and two steak quesadillas. None of the three queso fundidos came with the flour tortillas. The online menu specifically describes the queso fundido as "Traditional melted cheese served with chorizo and warm flour tortillas." I have included a screenshot of the menu description. We also received only two small bags of chips for the entire group order. When I called, the woman who answered explained that they provide only one bag of chips per order and that the second small bag was given "as a courtesy," regardless of how many individual appetizers or meals are ordered. This policy makes very little sense for a group order. Several people ordered and paid for their own food. Three separate queso fundidos were purchased for three different people--they were not ordered as one appetizer for a group to share. Yet we were essentially told that everyone is expected to share one small bag of chips, with an additional bag considered a courtesy. More importantly, when I asked about the missing flour tortillas, I was told there was "no description" for the queso fundido and that it does not come with tortillas. That directly contradicts the restaurant's own online menu, which clearly states that the queso fundido is served with warm flour tortillas. What makes this especially frustrating is that this has happened to us several times before. We have previously received group orders with inadequate chips and/or missing accompaniments. Tonight was not an isolated mistake. Mistakes with takeout orders happen, and that alone would not have prompted this review. What was disappointing was the repeated issue combined with the argumentative and dismissive response when I finally called about it. There was no attempt to acknowledge that the advertised tortillas were missing or offer a reasonable solution. If the restaurant no longer includes flour tortillas with the queso fundido, the online menu should be corrected. And if multiple customers are placing individual orders together, the restaurant should reconsider a policy that treats the entire transaction as though it were one person's meal. We've ordered from here multiple times, but after repeatedly having the same issue and the way tonight's concern was handled, we'll be much less likely to order again.
