There's only one dealership that were honest and aboveboard. Why do dealerships have to lie play games. We were mislead.

My Hyundai broke down on 32 and so I was able to limp it over to this dealer to get it checked out. The dealer service department was backed up so it took a week for them to actually get to the evaluation phase. Then it took about a week for them to diagnose it. They even had to consult with Hyundai corporate going back and forth a few times. By the third week and about the time they were going to repair the vehicle (after parts were ordered) they finally had a loaner vehicle available. Close to $4k of service later I went to pick up the vehicle; a month after I first dropped it off to the day (no nice clean car wash pickup; 'twas dusty as ever). 3 weeks after that here I am with a check engine light on again, but this time I will probably go to my usual Hyundai dealer. read more

I had an extremely poor experience with the service department at this dealership and feel compelled to warn others. My vehicle was in their shop from January 22 through February 3 for recall work and a simple third-row seat repair. I was initially told the work would take two days, and even assured they were overestimating the timeline to account for any issues. Despite this, my car sat there for 13 days, and the work was still not completed. Throughout this entire process, communication was nearly nonexistent. I was always the one calling for updates. Voicemails were left and rarely returned. There was a clear disconnect between the technician and my service advisor, who often had no updates because the technician failed to communicate the vehicle's status to her. The only person who showed empathy, accountability, and professionalism was my advisor, and I truly feel she was doing her best in a broken system. To make matters worse, even though I scheduled my appointment weeks in advance, the dealership did not have the correct parts on hand for the recalls, despite knowing my vehicle type and the specific recall work required. This alone shows poor planning and internal failures. What is even more concerning is that the part for the third-row seat assembly was received on January 29 but was never opened or inspected. The package sat untouched until Monday, February 2. This indicates a complete lack of quality assurance and basic verification processes. Had the package been opened upon arrival, staff would have immediately realized the part was incorrect and could have addressed the issue days earlier instead of allowing my vehicle to sit idle. This failure to verify parts before or after ordering directly contributed to the unnecessary delays. On February 2, I was told my car would be ready by 5:00 PM. Less than two hours before pickup, I received a call stating the technician had ordered the wrong part, and my vehicle would not be ready until the next day. I was told the correct part would be overnighted, but it never was. On February 3, my car was still not ready, and again, no one called me. I had to reach out yet again. At this point, I was forced to remove my vehicle from the dealership without the work completed, especially given that I had recently experienced a death in my family and needed my car back. I had communicated this to them, yet there was zero compassion or urgency shown. When I finally spoke with the service manager, Mike Goldberg, the experience became even more disappointing. He was arrogant, dismissive, and rude, offering excuse after excuse while defending the technician who was the root cause of the delays. I remained calm, patient, and professional throughout the conversation, but he showed no accountability, empathy, or respect. When I asked for the area manager's contact information, he initially acted as though he didn't know who that was before finally providing an email address. My 16 YO daughter was with me when I picked up my vehicle and witnessed this interaction firsthand, even she commented on how rude and disrespectful he was toward me. Additionally, if you are invited into a manager's office, basic professionalism should apply. There were inappropriate items displayed on his desk, which was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially with a minor present. I also want to warn customers about their loaner vehicle process. This dealership cuts corners and does not provide full transparency. I was not given the complete loaner paperwork when I received the vehicle from the cashier, Bonnie. I strongly advise anyone taking a loaner from this dealership to ask for every document and read everything carefully. After 13 days, I left frustrated, emotionally drained, and without my service completed, something that should have taken two days. I will never return to this dealership and strongly recommend others take their business elsewhere. Finally received a call yesterday and given every excuse in the book as to why the car was taking so long, but that it would be ready today. This place is the worst! Patrick the service technician will use every excuse in the book for his bad service. I had to listen to his excuse about his Bachlor party and wedding (why is this my problem?). He consistently over promises and under delivers. His manage Chris spoke down to me in such a way that I had to remind him that it was unacceptable and he needed to adjust his attitude as I was being nice up until that point. I really feel like I got this treatment because I'm a woman. I've sent a complaint to Maurice Mitchell (general manager) and the BBB will be next. I had a cracked manifold that allowed gas to get into my oil and I had to fight to get the oil flushed! Patrick was going to leave it like that! If I could give negative stars I would! If I could rate 0 stars I would. This hyundai dealership is garbage both service and sales. The service customer service is dismal. They once had my car for almost two months and I had to contact them for updates and they would always respond with "I was just about to call you" and that's if they even bothered to pick up. They are extremely unresponsive and will give you the run around. The sales section is just overpriced. Even before prices started to go up during the pandemic they were already inflated. They say there 'competitive" but they weren't. I gave this service center two chances. First one was for a recall and an oil leak. Took a little over four hours WITH an appointment and then, the service rep didn't call back as promised with the time or update, so I had to call and wait for long periods of time for help on when my car would be ready. Not cool. Recent visit: Check in was smooth, or so I thought. Dropped car off on time for the appointment. I specified full synthetic oil for my oil change and the check-in person gave me the additional charge quote. I agreed and he said he'd note it. Another set of "no calls back" where, after two hours, I called. I was told it would be about one hour so after two hours I was stuck on the phone calling back several times so that I could beg someone to find a rep to find out when my car would actually be ready. Then, when I picked it up to find out they did NOT out full synthetic and out a blend. The rep checked and said the note wasn't on the sheet and after I gave him the price that was quoted he agreed it was the right full synthetic price and apologized. Here's the thing - my car has always had full synthetic and regardless of what you think is fine or better, when I requested it and your shop agreed and you didn't do what was agreed, that's a problem. Also, this service check was for an oil change and belts and hoses check, plus tire rotation. If these smallish items take over two hours with no update at all, this is not acceptable. I purchased a Hyundai because I thought the company cared about service. Turns out, it's like any other company and so no loyalty on brand and definitely not a fan of this service location. read more

You're never going to get 100% honesty at any car dealership; but, this is as close as you're going to get. Tom was great. He's personable, open about everything, and bent over backwards to make the process easy and to find me the car that I wanted. The price he was able to negotiate beat every offer in a 15mile radius (though the other Antwerpen location came close to beating it). That + the 100,000/5 year warranty which crushed everything around made this a no brainer. If you're doing your due diligence, you call more than one dealer. Antwerpen should 100% be on your list. This dealership is usually pretty good but it was awful when I brought in my car for a recall/maintenance on May 30th. I did research on their website for the 30,000-mile maintenance for my Tucson before I went in, there were two price options, $650 and $178, shown on their website. The guy in the service department was rude and did not seem that he wanted to be there at all. Worst experience ever. I took my car to the svc dept for the same issue. I picked it up after the 2nd time. I received the paperwork that stated the car was taken for a test drive and the issue was resolved. The department was closed so there was no one to talk to when as soon as I pulled out I heard the same damn noise. I brought it back the next morning, drove it with the technician who also heard it. I get another quote for almost $800 (I already paid close to $700). I ended up taking it to API in Elkridge. They diagnosed something completely different and quoted less than $400. I took my 2020 Santa Fe in on 12 April 2022 for an oil change and tire rotation. I was never called when my car was ready even though I dropped it off first thing in the morning. I called them in the afternoon, was told it was ready and picked it up, but I noticed the tires weren't rotated because one of the rims is scuffed and that tire was still in its original location. Called the Service department the next day to say the tires weren't rotated and they said that they were short-staffed yesterday but I could bring it back. Scheduled another appointment for 26 April 2022 to have the tires rotated and dropped it off at 7:30 AM. Once again, no call to tell me my car was ready. I called late in the day, went to pick it up, and once again, tires were not rotated. Now I'm wondering if my oil was changed two weeks ago. My review is solely based on my experience and interaction with Sales Person Robert. My roommate purchased a car from Robert (Rob, since we're friends now lol) about a year or so ago, and she swears by him. After my horrible 2001 Ford Explorer finally gave in and clunked out, I decided to reach out to Rob for a new cute little car. I'm very picky and knew that I wanted to shop around before actually deciding on a car. I reached out to Rob about helping me find my next new vehicle and the experience was absolutely one of the best. Rob was patient, knowledgeable and not at all too pushy. I told him I wanted something cute and good on gas and he showed me the new 2019 Elantra, that I absolutely LOVED! OMG! I was sold on this vehicle up until the last minute but then I got cold feet (see; VERY picky). Rob was very understanding. He even gave me his information and told me to reach out if I had any questions. I have gone to 3 other dealerships and haven't found as high quality customer service like Robert's and because of this, I just reached out to him to let him know I'll be coming back in this weekend to close the deal on my brand new car! Was duped thinking this was a halfway decent dealership when I bought a new Hyundai in January. The sales department is shady. They will try to tack on every extra they can. I let them tack on an extended warranty knowing I could just cancel it but the hassle I went through when they processed my trade-in incorrectly causing a lapse in coverage and fines from the the MVA was not worth the deal I got in the vehicle. On top of that, I drove around for 4 months with the wrong tags because they screwed up. When they finally got it straightened out they wanted me to drive over to get the correct tags. They are greedy unprofessional dealership. Also beware. They will try to charge you for service that should be free on your vehicle. Was here yesterday to purchase a car. All was well until we sat down at the financing table. My husband and I were already financed through our credit union, and we were told that our credit wouldn't be tapped. There was no need for it to be, especially since we already had our financing. Guess what? They tapped it anyway. Not only did they tap our credit, they "finagled" our paperwork from the bank and worked GAP insurance out of the loan, and raised the APR. I'm not even sure if this is legal. It has me pissed off tho. Everyone was cheerful and the experience made me feel like they smiled our face and stabbed us in the back. Today I took my vehicle in for brakes. Over $900 later I got my truck back (with no new rotors). Who charges that much for pads and draining brake fluid? Antwerpen Hyundai, that's who. Terrible experience my Hyundai Elantra had multiple recalls and one where the brake could cause a fire and they said there was no fix to this issue yet. Took my car in at 8am and was promised my car back by 3pm and they kept my car without my consent and never called me to communicate anything. Service center never answers the phone Every time I called to check to see if my car was ready the receptionist would keep transferring the call putting me on hold and the phone would constantly be disconnected with a voice saying goodbye. I requested a supervisor and he never came to the phone or returned my call. The shuttle car took me home after dropping off my car packing the car with other people which is a Covid safety issue people coughing the whole way home but would not pick me up to pick up my car they kept my car over night without my consent causing me to miss work and then next morning called me multiple times rushing me to pick up my car and sending a driver to my house to pick me up without even notifying me first and I reported it to manager Chris who seemed to not even care I would not recommend you buying a car from here. read more

My experience was pretty terrible. I came in to Hyundai Catonsville with my 2015 Elantra on May 29th. The car has a sluggish transmission and an engine that's surging consistently. When I arrived at the service area at 1:15 for a 1:30 appointment, I was told by a gentleman named Ben that the entire diagnosing process would take about an hour. I asked specifically about that more than once, as I had to pick up my daughter at 5:00 pm. I assumed there would be plenty of time based on what I was told. Two and a half hours later another service technician, Doug, finally approached and told me what they had discovered. He said they were unable to detect the issues I had been experiencing. However, my battery was showing "poor" when they tested it, and that might be the cause of my problems. Key word- might. Replacing it would cost $330. I knew from my research that's almost $150 more than the average for replacing a battery in my particular vehicle. When I mentioned that, Doug said if I didn't replace my battery there I would be charged $135 as a diagnostic fee, so I might as well do it there instead of going somewhere cheaper. Gentlemen, you literally held my car hostage, and made an extra expenditure of $150 the only sensible way to retrieve my car. When I agreed to let them replace the battery, I asked Doug how long it would take, as I was already there more than double the estimated time I had been given. He told me half an hour. An hour and a half later I finally approached Doug to find out what was going on. At this point it was past 5, and I had been forced to make other plans for my daughter. He checked, and, looking embarrassed, came back to me and told me the car was back in the lot. Who know how long the work had been done. Also, he said, I had a brake light out, but they had replaced that for me for free. He also said he had been able to get the cost of the battery replacement down to $220 for me. That sounded great! And far more reasonable than the initial estimate. When I went to pay, however, I discovered that I HAD in fact been charged for the light replacement, and that the cost was NOT $220 but, in fact, more than $330. When I went back to Doug and said as much, he looked at me and said "Yeah, sorry." and went back to helping another customer. Finally, when I left the building to find an attendant to retrieve my car, there was no one to be found. I finally did find him he brought the car to me, only to get out and leave a stain on the seat and the smell of unwashed rear end and body odor inside the car. I drove home with the windows open, and had to clean and detail the interior to remove the stains and smell. I'm sure that sounds minor and laughable, but after everything else that happened, this was a truly terrible impression to leave me with. It's now a week later, and the car is still exhibiting the same problems. Problems that, if you sit in the car and leave it running for less than a minute, you can easily detect. I have no idea how the service people there were unable to detect ANYTHING after testing and driving the car. This leads me to believe that the techs there were uninterested in fixing the car's true problems, and instead wasted my time and money with a fix that was not part of the problem and solved literally nothing, but was much easier and cheaper for the dealership. I am, truth be told, completely furious about it. I now have to waste even more of my time and money fixing an issue that I trusted Hyundai Catonsville to take the time to find and fix properly, the first time. To recap, after nearly 5 hours at the dealership with very little communication, being manipulated with pricing that went from $330 to $220 to $330 again, and made filthy by the lot attendant, I will not be returning to this location. read more
