We made that mistake a bit where we had jeans and just regular shoes. We were able to move around for the games still but our scores suffered a bit because we were going to dinner after. They have tons of throwing, matching, difference spotting, spelling, agility, target shooting and other colorful themed games! Once you make an account here during your first visit, you're hooked! All your scores are logged, put against a global and local scoring table, and the race is on to be the best at the game. We did an hour and it seemed to fly by. Each game is about 2 minutes. If there's something you really want to play, you may have to wait a few minutes but it's worth it. The time tracking on the wristband is very accurate. Stay hydrate, dress accordingly, be patient (all age groups are here), and enjoy!

However, what really sold me were two things: (1) the customer service of the staff and (2) the arcade's strive for innovation and progression in enhancing the VR experience. The staff where very kind and accommodating, even with our large party of 7. They did their best to provide a wide range of games for us to play. In addition, after our time was up, my friends and I got to beta test their first multiplayer VR backpacks. Imagine being able to physically move around and play with your friends in an open space - awesome, right? This is a but a glimpse of what Escape VR at Oxford, MI can provide to the public. I'm only in Michigan for vacation this weekend, but this visit was the most memorable. As an engineer, I appreciate their innovation and profession in VR, and I hope the next time I visit MIchigan, I get to see how much this place has grown.

One of the tables has a bit of a slant to it and when you shoot a ball it does not go straight. There is no rake so forget using that to make the hard shots right now. There was only one rack for two tables and it is broken. I'm getting sick of going there and having very substandard equipment. If this goes on much longer I won't be back. The felt on one table is ripped and it could have been repaired quite a while back. There's a nice VR game there but the headset has a messed up strap. Last time I was there it was broken so only one of the two positions was usable to play. They did some ghetto fix for it but it's really not up to par. When that place is busy it's packed and I know they have the money for maintenance. There's no reason for this.

I don't care for these types of establishments in general (game based experience for adults) but this was so bad that I feel compelled to warn others to keep your distance.

We payed for an hour and over half the time we were stuck playing in games without eachother, lagged so bad you couldn't even play, headset was still broken so I didn't get any type of sound effects or get the option to talk to the person I was playing with. Because it was broken the only option was to yell in a room full of kids that were already loud and screaming. And after all of the complications they didn't offer any free time to play or accommodation for making our experience much worse and longer than it should have been. Along with all of these issues the machine you stand in had also pinched my skin multiple times taking chunks of skin and causing bruising on my arms. Would highly recommend anything else.

The staff were friendly and helpful. They explained how to use the equipment and were there if we needed help. The experience itself lasted about 30 minutes and was so realistic. We were fighting pirates with a bird guiding us. It too a minute to catch on once we started. After getting the hang of it we made it to the end. It was very entertaining to watch ourselves on video after the experience. They email the video to you also so you can share with friends. I would go again if I had the opportunity and take advantage of another experience.

For 6 people, it came to about $380! The sensors had a little bit of delay. My BF had to request assistance twice because his arm sensors had issues. Another in our party had a headset issue. The technical stuff just HAVE to be sorted out to be able to enjoy the whole experience. Timing - most of us came early and in that time, a staff member could've prepared us to think of a team name and choose characters so that it wouldn't be part of our actual time. But there was no one there to tell us anything beforehand or really even acknowledge our presence. Theme - we chose Squid Games and it's the only non-shooting option. Sandbox should definitely switch out some of the same old zombie or space call of duty ones to serve us some puzzle sessions. Get creative! Squid Games was extremely fun but I was so frustrated by the red light/green light one. My tracker wasn't really picking up my sensor when I touched a coin. Space - 4 people could move around comfortably but 6 people in the same size room was crowded! I think there should be slightly bigger rooms for the max number of people. You sweat a lot by the end so we just have to trust that they "clean" the fabric part of the goggles! If they do another promo, I want to go back! However, with the lack of puzzle options, unless they change up Squid Games, I don't know!
