I'm a first time dog owner and went to Anything is Pawzible right when we rescued our pitbull. Tons of online reviews convinced me to try them out for training and expert advice and they did not disappoint. We've worked with one of the trainers there, Jazz, in two private sessions but their help goes way beyond just those in person hours. Jazz has offered counsel over email several times when we've reached out with behavior questions or just general dog advice. They truly have gone above and beyond with helping us become confident dog owners. When we are in person, the facility is clean and spacious and the staff treat our dog like their own. They answer any and all of your questions and check in several times to make sure it's all making sense to you. We will be back in the future and I recommend for all pet parents! read more

I can't say enough good things about Anything is Pawzible.  We have a very challenging foster failure, Darby, who came to us with severe anxiety, as well as resource guarding and aggression issues.  We started working with Yvonne Feeny a year ago, doing 1:1 sessions after failing with another trainer who did not have the skills or knowledge to help us with Darby.  The situation was dire.  We were scared and completely distraught. Yvonne has a wonderful way with dogs and is very equipped to deal with challenging dogs.  Darby quickly warmed up to her because she knew the right way to interact with him.  He quickly learned to trust and LOVE her.  She has become his favorite person by far!  She has helped us immensely by teaching us how to meet Darby where he is at and engage him.  Make no mistake- you have to do the work if you want your dog to get better. It is HARD WORK.  But you will have a knowledgeable, funny, and caring teacher right behind you if you work with Yvonne.   Darby is still working very hard, but he has made such huge strides. In a year, we went from a dog who was snapping and growling at us to joining a group class!!!  We never thought this would be possible!!!  We just can't believe he is the same dog!  We just finished the Basic class with Yvonne and it was fantastic.  The Avondale location is spacious, so you have plenty of space to work with your pup and the homework is helpful and just enough- not too overwhelming. *This review is for a group Basic+ class at their Fit Dog (West Loop) location - not the main annex* Honestly we loved everything else about Anything is Pawzible, just not the facility. Even if you don't care about aesthetics, it usually smelled overwhelmingly of chemicals and still didn't appear to be that clean. On the other hand, this location is set up for smaller groups and we only had 4 dogs total in our class so we received a ton of attention and practice time. Our instructor, Ania, was phenomenal - not only was she wonderful with the dogs but she had a genuinely warm personality with us humans too. We learned a lot while still having fun, and will definitely check out some of their other classes at other locations. read more

We adopted our pup, Lazlo, in March and faced the whirlwind of puppyhood for the next several months. Although we had spent a lot of time and energy with initial training (sit, stay, come, wait, etc.), we felt we had reached the limit of what we could learn from YouTube dog training videos. We reached out to Anything is Pawzible to inquire about the best class options for our pup who had some groundwork already done. We ended up taking the Basic Plus course which was absolutely perfect. Working in a group class setting, our teacher Judit did a phenomenal job of adjusting our behaviors as any roadblocks came up. It was invaluable to learn little tricks about our body language as well as Lazlo's. Judit gave us great ways to add extra challenges when Lazlo had mastered basic/easier things. There's no way we could have known the best ways to increase challenges, utilize different types of rewards, and troubleshoot. If you're on the fence about registering for your first course, this is your sign to do it. YouTube tutorials for dog training are not the same as an in-person group course with a highly knowledgable trainer. Even if you think your pup has some good foundational work, the Basic Plus course will give you a whole new toolbox to improve your training skills and your relationship with your pup. The key is to continue your training homework throughout the week. That will help you make the most of the courses! We highly recommend taking a course with Judit. She was phenomenal! Truly took the time to understand our pup, give us great recommendations, and encourage us the whole way through. Another great tip is that they offer discounts for rescues! We did the Puppy basics class with Lin this fall, and are so grateful to see the hard work pay off! We just got our first puppy (5 months old), and the breed is known to be reactive and easily distracted. We are first time puppy parents, which is super overwhelming since you got to start from the bare bones. I spent so much time researching and finding the most effective way of training our puppy. Our puppy is very intimidated by the outside and doesn't have much confidence. We started with the puppy classes because it allowed us to train our puppy but also learn as dog parents. Let me tell you! Alysia was so kind and so knowledgeable about everything. She helped us understand our puppy's behavior and why he would do certain things that frustrated us. We left this class hopeful and excited because who Ollie was the first week of class is a totally different dog the last week of class. We are still training him! He still needs a lot more training, but we will get there. Alysia was so kind to us. She answered all our emails, our questions at the end of class, and she even took time before class and played with Ollie. She was even kind enough to give us advice on swimming, even though that was never going to be touched on in class. She loves dogs and you can tell by her excitement. She made our lives easier. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. My pup, Millie, was in Mario's Puppy Pawzibilities class. The classes are kept small, which I liked so that each dog could get the attention they needed. The exercises were challenging yet within reason for a puppy's age. After every class we received a detailed summary of our "homework", which serves as a great reminder to continue now that the class is over. Millie was so shy to start, but warmed up with the socialization breaks that were taken during class each week. Graduation day is super cute as well. My adopted pup is a small/medium adult and dog-selective. He primarily reacts towards intact male dogs. Unfortunately, there are a lot of them in my neighborhood so I needed professional help! I reached out to them in late June 2021, but got an extremely helpful and detailed response within 48 hours. They recommended in-person training, but noted there was a significant wait list. Zoom virtual training sessions were offered in the interim. Since it was better than nothing, I decided to take them up on the offer. Pricing was very upfront and they were honest about virtual format limitations. They set me up with Alex. She is AMAZING! Our first meeting was an hour long and we discussed my short and long-term goals. We discussed what was realistic given my pup's breed and the neighborhood's environment. She had high hopes for him, and actually helped lay out plans beyond my expectations. Her methods are positive reinforcement based and customized based on your pup's ability. It's only been about a month since our first session and we've progressed by leaps and bounds. He actually ignored an intact male dog that was following us at the park the other day. I almost cried with joy. Their sessions are super affordable (especially when compared to other training options). Anything is Pawzible still remains my favorite training facility in the city. I've taken my dog now to a few other places in the city for agility work and/or training and quite frankly didn't really like classes. I now have a second dog and we enrolled in puppy class and basic plus. I love that they work on the same foundations each week and then make it harder. When the session is completed my dog has five to six obedience cues down. At other places they throw like ten things at you in each class and I have felt overwhelmed and essentially we learn barely anything because it is too much. I recently booked a private session with Yvonne. She was the first instructor we had when I started with my first dog and just the best. She's personable, real, and extremely knowledgeable. We met at a local park and she helped me out with improving my dogs behavior around children and other dogs on leashes. Our puppy class got delayed due to COVID-19 but Anything Is Pawzible (AIP) was really communicative during that time and kept us up to date with when classes would start again, or gave the option to start a virtual puppy class which was great to see them being flexible and accommodating. We opted to wait until in-person classes resumed since our main goal was to socialize our pup Finn. He was always acted nervous around other dogs so we weren't sure what to expect of sticking him a room with 3-4 other dogs. So previous to the puppy class we had an AIP online training session with Yvonne who gave us tips for how to socialize Finn and get him comfortable with other dogs and just environmental noises and objects. Once classes started we notified our trainer - Joanna- before that Finn was nervous with other dogs and she was so great! She made sure from the start to focus on getting Finn comfortable with the other pups. During play breaks she matched him with one of the calmer pups in the class and gave them space to explore, sniff and 'play'. By the end of the six weeks he was comfortable to be off leash with all the pups! He didn't frolic and play with them all which was totally fine because the goal was always to just get him comfortable around other dogs and we were so happy to see him comfortable. As far as teaching techniques, AIP breaks basic commands down into super simple steps that allow any dog and owner to learn. If was so helpful to have the demonstrations and the individual critiques during class and each week we felt prepared to continue training at home. So between the 1-on-1 online training sessions and the puppy class, we've been given tools that will continue to help us and Finn out. Our experience with AIP has been great and we fully recommend them! read more

I enjoyed my class and I realize the classes are not for the dogs there for the humans. They teach compassionate training and positive reinforcement not pulling or dominating your dog. Parking sucks too many cars and everyone driving like jerks with Milwaukee avenue closed traffic was terrible while we attended classes and we had 5:30 pm starts. Our instructor (Joanna) was Great and my only issue was there were several reactive dogs and it was a extremely loud room with all the barking. I presented my behavior issues to the trainer, Rachel back in February. I thought my issue warranted a home visit, but, she felt otherwise, so, I went up to your facility to meet with her. We spent an hour on basic obedience (which is not at all what I signed up for) with a casual suggestion on how to handle the real issue at hand!!!' I've tried several training facilities around Chicago (paws, tucker pup's, etc) and AIP is the BEST and have the biggest variety of different classes such as nosework and tricks for kicks. Special shout out to Nosework I & II with Maria Triolo which GREATLY made my anxious pittie pup into a brave little toaster because it gently pushed her out of her comfort zone with having to smell "scary" things like wheelchairs and walkers!
