If I could give more stars, I absolutely would! We brought our 8-month-old puppy to Found, and he had the BEST experience in PupStart+. While every aspect of the program was fantastic, two things really stood out. First, the team genuinely cares about every dog--it's clear in everything they do. Second, this wasn't just a training experience for our puppy; it was a learning experience for us as owners, too. As first-time puppy owners, they gave us the skills and confidence we needed, and the progress our puppy made was incredible. We can now take him places and truly enjoy the experience. We initially signed up for six weeks but extended it by three more because of how much progress he was making--and because we knew the impact would be long-lasting. We're even planning to bring him back this summer for additional off-leash training (and because we're pretty sure he misses it!). I can't say enough positive things about the facilities, the staff, and the level of care they provide. They're always available to answer questions and show a genuine investment in each dog's success. It's also such a relief to have found a place we trust for boarding and grooming. Found is Penny's home away from home. They create programming that works for each individual dog, rather then a one-size-fits-all approach. Penny gets socialization, training, and exercise at Found, but she's never over worked or over simulated when she gets home. I feel safe leaving Penny there to be boarded during longer trips, and her daycare routine means she gets variety in her week. We both love Found! read more

Found is the only place we trust for our dog, Hobey. He completed the adventure dog program and we recently had a follow up with Julianna to address some concerns on the leash. She explained everything very well and within an hour Hobey was walking perfectly on the leash with kids and other dogs around. She clearly communicated the ecollar timing and how to address his reactivity. I seriously don't know what we would do without Found! Thank you, Found! I sent my rescue pup, Stevie to Found's board and train adventure dog program. I researched and met with a few places and am so glad I chose Found! I was hesistant to use E Collar and Prong collars but the staff's explanation to me and the way they introduce the dog to the equipment is truly so educational and helpful. Stevie was right about 6 months so still very much a puppy. The staff took such great care of her and truly went above and beyond to get her adjusted to the program. Everyone we worked with was amazing but special shout outs to Anna and Joselyne-- her main trainers! Anna even asked if Stevie could spend one weekend at her home when she was having some stomach issues. The program sends videos and photos and I could tell Stevie was not only learning a lot but having so much fun. When I first got Stevie from the rescue we struggled communicating with each other and when she was done with the program I was equipped with the tools and resources to communicate effectively with her. She now is able to walk on leash so well and listen to what I ask of her. She was socialized so now can even go on pack walks while I am at work. The program truly changed Stevie's behavior for the better but she's still the same goofy fun loving dog that I rescued. My rescue dog Bailey and I have been going to Found for training, daycare, and boarding since I got her in 2023, and I can't recommend it enough. There were a lot of things I wasn't prepared for as a first time pet owner, and the staff at Found have been supportive and helpful throughout. We started with initial training for her reactivity and fear of touching her body which could quickly turn aggressive, and then training continued at regular daycare sessions. Bailey loves daycare, and I feel so fortunate to have a boarding facility with people who know her and take great care of her while I am away for work trips. We cannot say enough good things about the program offerings and the staff at Found Chicago. We saved a dog we saw on social media. He had been picked up in the Mojave Desert, was in a kill Shelter in California and literally, we pulled him out of the euthanasia line. With the help of several people and a rescue, this dog was transported to Chicago. He's a happy, sweet, affectionate, smart fella but had no boundaries and needed more than we could give him. We enrolled this 1.5 y.o. high energy pup in the 24/7 two week boot camp. The improvement was significant but we knew he needed more training. We then enrolled him in the special extended 6 week program. We attended an extra Saturday morning training session, too. It was all the right decision. He became a different dog: still sweet, affectionate, smart and now he listened to commands, all around better behavior and realized his potential. We could never have done this on our own. Every member of the Found Training Team is terrific including the Front Desk Staff. We could never have written a better outcome if we tried...they did it all. My dog developed leash reactivity during the pandemic and it just kept getting progressively worse, to the point where I found myself taking my dog out for the shortest time possible to prevent interactions with other dogs while on a leash. I had looked into various intensive training programs before but never found anything I felt good about until Found. They did their free consultation with her and recommended the 3 week Adventure Dog program and I have not shut up about it since. You could tell that the staff there are not only very knowledgeable but have intuition on a dog's personality and ways to motivate them. Xena is like a brand new dog on a leash, she doesn't even chase after squirrels and bunnies anymore, she's calm and focused. I met with Val and was immediately impressed with her knowledge and professional demeanor. We signed our dog up for Pupstart with Val and Rob and started ASAP. Our dog learned so much in his time with them. At first I was a bit nervous because he was exhibiting behaviors that were a little unsettling for a puppy (growling mainly). with Val and Rob's guidance I learned how to navigate the situation and our dog no longer has those issues. While Val seems so no nonsense, all business - she is that way with regards to structure and consistency. But when it comes to praising and giving those dogs a loving environment, she really shows each of the puppies that care!!! I loved their videos that helped us also be better humans for our dog. They were essential to building on the foundation they were working on with him. It's funny because when my dog hears Val or Rob's voice from videos he's looking around for them because he loves them so much. I'm so impressed with the entire facility and all the trainers. I don't like leaving bad reviews but our experience here has left us very dissatisfied and I wish I knew a bit of this before we picked this place for board and train. We left our puppy here for two weeks and when asked what was one of the biggest concerns to work on, it was just having our dog walk well on a leash. That's something we had struggled with and we thought anything extra that comes out of this training will be great as long as we get the one thing we asked for. Every few days we just got basic videos of our pup walking on the treadmill. No videos of him being trained at all. Not even basic commands. When we went to pick him up and had session with the trainer, we literally saw the same dog we left behind. Absolutely no changes in him being trained. The trainer was teaching him how to walk on a leash with us from what it looked like was the first time ever. He used a pronged collar and asked us to use it as well at home. All of that is fine, we will continue to do whatever is recommended but our dog hadn't learned a single thing there, not even walking on a leash. He didn't know any commands nor did the trainer go over any commands with us that was maybe taught to him? We saw zero changes in our dog. I could tell the trainer was going over everything with walking him on a leash with us but our dog had no clue coz he was probably not trained the past two weeks to do so! Our dog wasn't even listening to him and the trainer had no clue on how to get him to listen and looked frustrated many times! It was a huge waste of time and money. We picked this place because of some good reviews but I don't know what to believe anymore. We also got our dog a bath and a sanitary trim before we took him home. Our dog came back with multiple nicks and a paw infection because his paws were shaved raw while giving him his paw trim which cost us a huge vet bill on top of the money we wasted on training here. We talked to the groomer and told her about this and all she said was she may have hurt him but she wasn't aware. Horrible experience over all! I was scarred for the next few weeks because the usual place we take him to does a fabulous job with not a single scratch on him ever and here he's come back practically hurt all over! This was just a boarding facility at best and no training was provided to our pup. My coworker sent her pup of the same age to a different board and train facility in the west loop and her dog came back knowing multiple tricks and great behavior. Her dog used to be badly behaved before that and he still learned a lot! Our dog on the other hand knew some tricks we had taught him at home and he came back exactly the same. I would not recommend this board and train facility to anyone. We feel cheated of time and money! read more

I absolutely love Found and I am so grateful to them for teaching me to help train my dog, Teddy, and to help him become the best dog he can be! Teddy is very reactive to people and other dogs when out for walks. He used to pull me down the street while walking with him. The highly qualified staff has taught both Teddy and me how to control his walking and how to have Teddy obey commands. Additionally, I am so impressed with all the activities that Teddy is involved in. He goes on on walks in the nearby park, he does retrieving with frisbees and balls, he goes swimming in their pool, and he does agility training. Wonderful place. I started using Found when my dog showed signs of reactivity and I was not able to correct his behavior. He went for four weeks of board and train and results were great. His behavior is better and I know how to control him. After board and train I decided to continue with daycare. Daycare is amazing as well, they have different activities for dogs and training continues. I also used Found for boarding. When my dog was at boarding he got sick. They communicated with me right away. They took him to the vet, with my permission, and they took care of him really well. They communicated with me non stop so I would not be worried. Leo is amazing!!! I registered my dog for the board and train program for two weeks. Mochi had aggression issues and was quick to show his dominance by growling and/or bitting. My family and I needed to get it corrected as soon as possible. We tried a few other facilities, trainers, and watched a million Cesar Millan videos, but we couldn't resolve it up until now. Total Game changer When our Lab turned 2 he began to exhibit reactive behavior toward most dogs during walks. It was extremely difficult to control him. Sometimes he would get on his hind legs and bark and lunge at even small dogs. We were referred to Found by another dog owner and it was the best thing we could have done. It is literally like we are walking a different dog after 3 weeks at Found. He sits at alleys and looks up at us for the cue to be able to walk again after his sit. He will lie down and stay while we step away to get a treat in a bowl. We toss the treat and he doesn't move until he hears "go get it." Justin and team from our experience are the best of the best. mark twain once said- i'd have written a shorter letter, but i didnt have the time. that's how i feel about writing this review, but here goes. the only reason they r so highly rated is that the rly bad reviews disappear. look through the reviews, u will see fabian watches this page like i watch my twitter. there were 3 1stars when i checked b4 handing over my pup, all saying their dogs reverted to their problem behavior once home. they're all gone now. that's cuz it happens all the time and they know it, so they blame the owner and make the reviews go away. whether they use threats or bribes, i guess i'll soon see. but fabian, dont even bother. u cant bully or bribe me. so, i had what i thought was a perfect pup. a female old english bully. well bred bright, engaged, responsive from day 1. never failed a recall, learned basic commands quickly, eager to please and got along well w my 2 other dogs, and old male victorian bully and a big male pyrenesse cross. they were the best of buds, playing all day. til, at 15 mos, they werent and she decided she wanted to kill him. not exaggerating. viscous fights that were tough to break up. now, this was my 12th puppy, my 16th dog. i have been training my own dogs and studying dog training/behavior since 1980. neither ignorant or stupid. after 3 mos in hell, trying to fix it, and keep them apart, my age and health led me to turn her over to found. i'd sent 2 other dogs to them in the past and they were fine. at her evaluation, i told the trained what went wrong, what the root of the problem was, and why sop measures had backfired. no need for them to figure anything out. i enrolled her in the 4wk program for aggressive dogs. i got back a dog that was worse. way worse. the program is fundamentally flawed. they ignored my goals, did not even attempt to address the root cause- food guarding. such a common problem, but never addressed. they totally discounted my knowledge and experience. the head trainer pissed me off so badly i demanded someone else to do the weekly 1-1 sessions. at least i got that. her main trainer was great. she poured her heart and soul into my girl. but because their methods r so flawed, she got much worse. she performed well there, but when she came home, and i wasnt shoveling high value treats at her all day, she reverted immediately. she had a 'red zone' reaction the morning after she came home. she's made a lot of progress since i got her back. cuz i know what i am doing. but the only benefit of her time at found was- everyone got a break from her, including me, and i found out she didnt want to attack every dog she saw, but wanted to play. this was seen in the rare 'report card' vids i got. the 3rd 1 of which was her w someone else's dog, w her totally unrestrained, running around like maniacs, in and out of a room where the trainer had no sight lines. i asked them if they were insane. i told them i didnt want her to play w other dogs. i dont use day care and i dont go to dog parks. said i wanted her to work around other dogs, and ignore them completely. but play time is the staff easy time, so they continued to let her play. now, she sees another dog on a walk and goes completely berserk. from 30' away or 100', she whines and tries to get away from me. my plan was to take the other dog in for a 'tune up', he is a graduate of boot camp, plus a week of ecollar training, then take her back for the second week, so they cd b reunited on neutral territory, and worked together. after i made my goals clear, ie, eating together in peace, i sent them a vid of the 2 bullies, eating perfect peacefully together and asked them to replicate that the best they cd. i was told this was dangerous and they wouldnt do them. so, i bailed on that plan, picked up the other dog and will fix this myself. i cd go on for days here about the flaws in the program, but i'll end w- this is a persistent problem, they know it, they dont care. i'd also advice anyone considering them to check their glassdoor review. former employees describe understaffing, and even 1 complaint of sexual harassment. i'm happy to answer questions in the comments. do not let these ppl anywhere near your dog. but and fabian, dont even bother. you'll be hearing from my lawyer soon. you'll only make it worse. y'all have f'd w the wrong old lady. read more

Found took the brain of a good dog and put it into the body of our dog. At least that's what it seemed like after the rehab program for our male APBT Freddie (4 years old). Freddie had problems with reactivity and aggression towards dogs. the trainers - especially Justin and Pete - were able to have Freddie socializing with other dogs, including bigger male dogs. We can now walk Freddie at the park with dogs, humans, and squirrels. Found gave Freddie (and us) the tools to help him enjoy life more. read more

They worked a miracle with our 9 year old terrier/basenji mix. We use to dread taking walks with him because he was leash reactive and dog reactive and just all around a pain to walk. But the boot camp changed it. I swear they replaced Jake with a pod puppy! He's become a brand new dog! We're walking him more and he's even gone to the dog park to socialize. He even took a treat from a neighbor, and people have remarked on how much better he's been doing. Yes, the boot camp is expensive, but seeing my dog happier and calmer than I've seen him in a while was worth it. Also, my dog caught an Upper Respiratory infection while he was there and they took him right away to the vet. They noticed the increase of coughing and called us about it. We weren't worried about it, but they took him just in case! Since doing the book camp we've signed up for once a week play days for him to continue to socialize with other dogs. He's EXCITED in the mornings that he leaves for the play dates and goes into the transport willingly. Also, shout out to Michelle for being the most amazing trainer. She's answered my questions via text... no matter how stupid. And she'd send me pictures when asked. read more

We had an amazing experience with Found. We were really apprehensive leaving Kirk for two weeks for the Boot Camp program. From the very first day, we loved seeing the daily report card videos and seeing him in a safe place with extremely caring staff. When we received the first training video, we were incredibly impressed with the quality and professionalism of the trainers. They include 3 personal training sessions with the Board and Train program, and 1 week in was our first. We were so impressed with William and the relationship that he formed with Kirk. Williams professionalism and skill was extremely effective in Kirk's improvement. We are SO impressed with Kirk's progress with him only being home for one day! We definitely still have a lot to work on, but we're so happy with our decision to work with the staff at Found. What a great training class, for not only dog, but also human! Skeptical at first, but definitely recommend. Ryan is GREAT! We adopted our ~10 month old pit bull Astro, as a Hurricane Harvey refugee in late September and immediately started looking for training classes. I searched for many places and wanted to get him in somewhere ASAP and also needed a place that had late night classes so both my husband and I could attend. We decided on Found's beginning obedience class on Thursday nights form 7:15-8:15pm. At first, I was quite skeptical of using training "choke" collars, because I have always been an advocate for positive reinforcement only training. However, after trying out the collar in the first class, I realized it really is a great tool for training and correcting your pet. We worked mostly with Ryan and also Michelle and BOTH were great. During the 6 week class, Astro was doing amazingly well until week 5 when he started to have some behavioral issues. I honestly was quite shocked and panicked when he acted out during class, but was reassured by Michelle (Ryan was not in that week). The next week, Ryan knew how upset I had been the previous week and pulled me aside before the class started to get an update and see how things were going. Not only did he do that, he kept my husband, Astro and me after class and spoke with us one on one about our concerns. Ryan is a "tell it like it is" trainer, and some things were hard to hear, but definitely necessary. I truly appreciated him not coddling us, but instead being straight forward and devising a plan for how to deal with these unwanted behaviors. I am no longer scared of what could happen, but instead now know how to deal with things that may arise in the future! Could not recommend Found and Ryan enough! read more

I can't thank Found Chicago enough! Our pup had a lot of behavioral issues and we didn't know what to do anymore and were getting really discouraged. We had asked two trainers in the past to do an in-home training/consultation and they were useful but not enough to make a change. Since we moved up to the Albany Park neighborhood and Found Chicago was so close we decided to give this place a shot. We did an evaluation with Leo and I loved how informative he was. He remained calm when our pup was nervous/afraid and the way Leo handled everything was just amazing. When we got the approval that our pup can do the Board and Train we were thrilled! While our pup was in the Board and Train, we received videos and updates; which were very helpful and reassuring that he was doing ok. We had 3 private lessons with Ryan and man, he was like our savior. Every question we asked he answered and every fear we had he helped us overcome it. He's very knowledgeable and patient. From being super discouraged and hopeless, after two weeks, we left the facility with our newly transformed pup with a new mindset and a positive relationship with him. We're still in the process of doing group classes and loving it! Ryan is our trainer and I absolutely love the training we are receiving and being there with our pup. Absolutely love working together with other people and encouraging each other as well! Since we wanted our dog to continue socializing with other pups we decided to put him in daycare. We sent our GSP pup Charlie for a Board & Train with the Adventure Dog program. We looked specifically for a program that would be able to introduce Charlie to the E collar and this program did not disappoint. We checked in every weekend with a lesson and received video lessons and updates every 3-4 days. Justin and Will were amazing teachers, no-nonsense and taught us great skills about how to better interact with and teach Charlie. By using the E collar and the prong collar separately, Justin was able to teach us how to walk Charlie with a loose leash, and communicate to him what we expected of him. The E collar foundation that we laid down with him through Found was also groundbreaking in what we've been able to do with him off-leash and in terms of reliable recall. Found was also crucial in teaching a very rambunctious Charlie how to appropriately interact with other dogs. Shortly after Charlie's stay, we took him on a cross-country road trip to our new home in SoCal and he was able to enjoy so much of the scenery along the way and practice his new skills. For 3 weeks we never worried because we knew Charlie was in great hands and being well taken care of. It's rare that I write a Yelp review but Found absolutely made me feel compelled to! I feel like I lucked out a bit on my rescue. He was found in a dumpster in Puerto Rico on death's doorstep. He made a miraculous recovery then he came to Chicago to be my forever puppy. That said, he is still a puppy. As a puppy dad, I feel responsible for ensuring my young lad lives his best life. As do all people, dogs require a sense of purpose. Dogs are compassionate, affection beings but they are also tough. They take a step on the toe with a yelp (pun?) and keep on walking. We could all use a lesson from dogs. That said, Leo from Found, taught me more lessons than I ever thought I could learn about dogs. I grew up with dogs. When I was 7 years old I went to school early the day after we got my first dog and stood outside of my first grade classroom door with a picture of him because I was so proud. The pride I felt then doesn't hold a candle to the way I feel now. Leo and everyone at Found not only enhanced my dog's life but they enhanced mine as well. I 100% recommend taking your dog here for literally anything. If my boy loves Found, your boy or girl will too! P.S. My puppy boy gets super excited every time we go back. Found is fantastic. my pit bull rescue has been coming here since I found her, about 2 years now, and the entire staff is outstanding. My little girl was a wild child, but with the consistent training she receives at found , she has become a fabulous and obedient pet. Bella goes once a week and , boy, do I know when the next visit is due. she gets so excited and I feel so relieved when I drop her off, and the entire staff knows and greets her. Like many ppl, my dog is my baby, and I'm perfectly happy leaving her in Found's capable hands. Shout out to Gwyn, who is always courteous, friendly and professional at the desk. read more

My dog has been going to Found's Day Camp for more than 3 years. When I turn the corner onto Rockwell, my boy starts whining and continues until we get to the front door. He happily jumps out of my van and heads directly to the door. I think my dog's enthusiasm and excitement about Found is review enough, he is always happy to go there. read more
