When I reiterated the inappropriateness, I was given an elaborated explanation of "why" in which my opinion remained the same. Then I was told that they're a private gym and they can put up whatever they'd like. So basically they didn't like my post (on here) the same way I didn't like their post on the bathroom stall...but they obviously had a problem with it. Again, very unprofessional!

Whether it's strength training, cardio or functional, this is the place to go! The owners are great folks with tons of knowledge and eager to help. Personal trainers are available. A dry sauna is available! All of the equipment is top tier, brand new and kept functional at all times. The rates are very reasonable and plenty of parking is available. Open 24/7 I'm here every morning, 7 days per week for 2 hours per day, training for my next Spartan Race.

Dear people thinking about gyms,…read more I am one of your friendly local fat ladies who goes to a gym. In particular, the Dryades YMCA is my gym of choice. There were three major factors that led me to join here: diverse facilities, sliding scale membership fees, and close to my house. Obviously "close to my house" won't help you choose this gym, but it was important for me because I am unlikely to actually go sweat my way through a workout unless I can get there in 5 minutes or less. This place qualified on that front. With ample street parking and bike parking, this is a decent place to be even if it's not close to your house. The actual facilities have a lot to offer. There are banks of cardio machines for the runners and walkers and spinners and stair climbers. Behind that are lots of weight training machines for folks who don't want to go the free weight path. There's a large rack of dumbells and weight plates for folks who just want to lift. Back in the corner are medicine balls, kettlebells, tension bands, yoga mats, exercise balls, and "make your own workout adventure" tools. And that's just the upstairs section! Downstairs is a beautiful natatorium, which is a fancy word for "indoor swimming pool." There are lanes for laps, a lift for folks with mobility issues, and lots of flotation aids for a good water workout. Both floors have locker rooms that are bring your own lock style with benches and showers. As for sliding scale, the Y is affordable when you consider all of these offerings. However, if you are making no money because you work in the service industry while paying for grad school, they offer financial aid forms to give you an income-driven membership price. I really love what I get from the Y and find it worth what I pay a month (slightly more than Planet Fitness, much less than everywhere else). I have not even begun to comment on the group fitness classes because I don't use them. But there are group fitness classes, too! Non-members can pay a little bit more to take classes here, but most classes are free for members. Yay! In conclusion, you can do much worse than this neighborhood gym with solid offerings. The location is in a strip mall with decent parking. The facility is larger than the OT I frequent in my neighborhood. It's very spacious and there's plenty of room to spread out when doing the floor exercises. I accidentally went to the wrong OT when I had scheduled my session. When I called and told the staff I was going to be late, thankfully the staff at the Uptown location rescheduled me for the last class of the day without issue. Will was my instructor and has got to be one of my favorite instructors ever. At first, I thought he was monotone and the class would feel monotonous but as the class went along, his energy pumped up. You could tell he understood the assignment and what OTF is about- 12 spat points minimum for the afterburn if that's what you showed up for and high/bright-orange energy. As someone taking OTF classes just for the occasional extra push to my workouts; I found myself wanting to go back to this studio daily afterwards.

SCAM They make you sign a 5 month contract without any kind…read moreof notice. They did not explain this when signing up, just hand you over the paperwork to sign. I even asked what their policy was because I was reluctant to sign and Molly distinctly told me 60 days after canceling. (it's actually 90 day commitment then 60 days after that). Super dirty they aren't clear about this so that when you go to cancel they basically say you're screwed and still owe them $300. Hope you only sign up if you know for sure you're never going to cancel it!

I wanted to come back and conquer every obstacle for their next race. Since joining Nola Muscle Park, I've finished every obstacle in the past two Battle races. Plus, I competed in UNAA, Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association. I advanced to regionals. I could not have improved so much without their coaching. They are great. Okay so I've been coming here for almost a year so I feel like I can do an honest review. I'll…read morestart with the good news first. I have real abs now for the first time! It's a great workout to build your core and the instructors are very patient and knowledgeable. Bad news is that besides the already expensive pricing their cancellation policy is insane. You have to cancel a class 12 hours in advance in order to not be charged. I take classes at 6am so there's no way I know before 6pm the prior day if something may come up that requires me to cancel. So paying over $200 a month plus all these $10/$15 dollars charges whenever you may have to miss makes the pricing outlandish to me. Then, if you decide maybe I'll just book later in case something comes up there's always a waitlist. A lose/lose. Overall, a really great core workout though but just be weary on if you need to miss a class
