So I decided, what other way to LIFT this burden than to pump some iron. I came fully decked out in my sweatsuit and I was ready to kick butt! I mainly stayed near the free weight area to do curls. My little buggy whips were soon becoming pythons. It didn't take long for me to tuckered out as I usually only get in my exercise during grape harvest season. I packed my bag with all of my goodies and decided to head out. This place can turn even the smallest pencil neck (like me) into a sheet of solid steel. Toodleoo!

They still kept his membership active even after asking him to pay with a broken thumb. He continued to pay. Once I noticed he called again and went in, spoke to the owner RJ who had him fill out paperwork to cancel. He did. Then charges started back up a couple months later. He is now in Colorado he has called, wrote the owner an email. No response. He has disputed the charges but just horrible service. Buyer beware.

Her persistence finally wore me down this past May, and she bribed... errrr convinced me to attend a class with her. By the end of the 8 round class with trainer RJ I was hooked. As a former collegiate athlete who had really let himself go, because well... Chipotle... this was what I needed. Now, not only am I a member, but our kids are too. I even train individually once a week with trainer Matt who is amazing. Matt, Wilkins, RJ, and all of the trainers truly love what they do and it shows. If you want to change your life for the better and challenge yourself while doing it, set aside your fears and doubts and attend a class. They'll even let you try it out for 3 days before you commit.

FREE PARKING -- Parking downtown is a pain so I'm happy that BrownsFit gym validates parking tickets at the attached garage. You won't pay for parking which is awesome. MEMBERSHIP -- I have a corporate membership which means I have a slight discount based on where I work. Membership is month to month (no contract) so if you want to cancel, tell them 10 days before your next gym payment is due and they will cancel your membership. WHAT YOU GET -- They offer group fitness classes (which are included in the membership price), they have cardio equipment such as ellipticals, treadmills, and bikes. They have dumbbells and barbells for those who enjoy lifting weights. There are male and female changing rooms with showers and toilets. *My FAVOURITE machine to use so far has been the Jacobs Ladder. I had never know about this cardio equipment until joining BrownsFit. It is intense and you only need 3 mins to feel the BURN. The Saturday morning BOOTCAMP classes are intense but really good. FREE MASSAGES -- Members can use a massage chair (3 are available) for 10 minutes without any extra charge. I enjoy using the massage chair after a good workout. LAYOUT -- The main floor is huge and has all the cardio and weight equipments. There are TV's lined up on the wall by the windows. They also have 2 fitness exercise rooms at the back of the gym where all the group fitness classes are held. One of the rooms has the spin bikes in them laid out at the back of the wall but there is still space in the room to do your own workout. I'm happy the bikes don't take up the whole room. This room also has weights and other equipment in the corner. Bootcamp classes, yoga, etc, are held in this room. The other fitness group class room is smaller and has equipment in it such as weights, ropes, yoga mats, etc. I love using the group exercise class rooms for my workouts when if there are no fitness classes scheduled. Overall, I would recommend Browns Fit gym. The corporate membership is less than $50 a month and I believe regular membership is under $60/month. There are no ways to alert customers to the status of the pool aside from just calling. Due to this issue, I called repeatedly to request a refund for a month of my membership since this was the only reason I became a member. I've gotten the run around: my number has been left for people to call me back twice only to have no one call. I finally went into the branch today to make the request. When they were unable to issue a refund for my lost month, I requested to cancel my membership - only to be told that I'm unable to cancel my membership unless the Operations Manager is there. And guess what? The Operations Manager only works M-F 9-5. How convenient that the only person who can cancel a membership is only available during hours most Americans are working. I don't believe for one second that they are unable to cancel my membership: they are trying any way they can to make it so hard to cancel the membership that people don't.

I love that North Olmsted offers 5:00 am, 5 days a week, that's a plus, it really is. I love Keeley Tuesday/Thursday, she is full of life with the perfect dry humor, coach Ryan is great too. The 5:00 crew is consistent, we have a great routine, 2 Gs are a plus early in the morning because I really dislike the rower. The monthly membership fee is comparable to other gyms in the area, but the cancellation fees are ridiculous, a grace period would be nice once in a while when members miss an alarm. I know it may read like a big ol complaint, Orange Theory is great, classes are high tempo with a mix of hit and cardio with weights mixed in, repeat classes are mixed in later in the month. You get the option to visit more than just your home studio. Rocky River is booming, they just got a ridiculously fabulous upgrade, I typically take their Saturday 6:45 am class. I have visited studios in DC and Miami too, but they charge additional fees when you visit what they classify as elite studios, seriously sane studio different city.
