We're on a cross country road trip. This place has more employees than any other location we've been to (and they have signs to hire more people!). There are constantly 2 or 3 employees at the desk. However, these people don't do anything. Other locations, employees are always cleaning or keeping busy. These are standing around looking bored or on their phone. There are towel dispensers that don't work, spray bottles that need filling, there are people yapping on their phone while on a treadmill or bike... and all the while, bored employees doing nothing. read more

It seems as if this location has a new owner who cares more about profit than taking care of the facility . An entire row of TVs have been broken for over a year- no attempt to fix them. Machines are often broken, others are so run down- they need replaced. The second floor has been closed for weeks due to a malfunctioning elevator- need I say more?? The North Olmsted location is ten times better- so disappointing. read more

I've been a member of the planet fitness franchise for over 10 years. Recently I joined Planet fitness in Avon because it's more convenient for me after I drop my wife off at work in Westlake. This is a very clean gym, I mean planet fitness's are clean but this one is the cleanest I've been to. The manager, Nate, goes out of his way to help you and the staff, Nick especially, is very helpful and respectful. They have a lot of room and equipment, as a matter of fact there's 2 floors of equipment at this one. The other gym members are pretty cool too. I feel comfortable with this franchise and I'd recommend it to anyone. read more

I called this location (Avon) to transfer to another location. I asked the young man's name he said it was Drew around 2:15pm.He said to call back in 30 mins.that he didn't know how to do the transfer . So I did another kid answers I asked his name he refused to give me his first name . I like to know with whom I'm speaking with. Then in mid sentence he put me on hold not once but 3x's ,while I was speaking to him . Not a word about can you please hold for whatever reason. Nothing ! I asked him 5x's for his first name he refused. Then he started debating with me telling he wasn't being rude . To make a long story short He(No name) has no communication skills , said he's fearful of giving his name ???!!!! You work with the public,,he knew exactly why I was calling but instead chose to be a rude ignorant (behave like he was ten year old) . He(No name) needs to go to a communication class , also receive additional training on customer service. I hope this young man gets training so he feels more secure around the public. read more

This place has been good, but there are pros and cons. Pros: * Good amount of availability in treadmills, ellipticals, and machines * Spacious areas * TVs with a variety of channels * Staff are always friendly * Seems like there's good benefits outside of exercise, but never used them Cons: * I initially got the black card but didn't know how to use any of the benefits it had; they don't really explain that to you, so you have to ask * The women, especially at this location, are dressed so immodestly; they need a better dress code; I can say the same thing with some of the guys too - wear real clothing and don't be showing a lot of skin * Likewise, the music and the periodic music videos that they play and display on the bigger flat screens are awful too; enough with this garbage and immodest music * Instead of the spray bottles they should use the wipes - they spray gets too sticky and is kinda nasty * The TV channels sometimes have an error and don't work, and/or don't have specific channels available; it seems to be always different no matter where you end up * It would be nice if they had the option instead of TV channels to have the scenery / views / tours of places, cities, mountains, etc.; I'd much rather prefer to watch that while working out * They don't take credit cards and have to go through your bank account, automatic payment also; I personally do not like that read more

I joined Planet Fitness with my wife a few months back and it's a pretty good gym! I came from LA Fitness at Crocker Park, so this was a bit of a change for me, but at less than half the price and much closer to home! The facility is very clean with helpful employees. They have two floors with tons of cardio equipment both upstairs and down. The majority of the weight equipment is downstairs, but there's a good amount of machines along with a an ab/stretching area upstairs. They don't have traditional benches with 45lb Olympic bars for chest workouts, but they do have 4 Smith machines which work pretty well for bench press and squats. There's a wide assortment of cable cross over machines, a TRX area, and ropes too. They have free weights too, including EZ curl bars, straight bars, and dumbells, which top out at 75lbs unfortunately. The locker rooms are bright and clean with plenty of lockers available for use. They also have a tanning area for Blackcard members if that's your thing. Overall, Planet Fitness is great and you can't beat it for the price! I just wish they had a track like my old gym did. read more

Great gym! Spacious, lots of equipment, suitable even at peak hours! One big flaw for me: there's already poor Verizon signal here, and the in-gym wifi does not work for iPhone users (others have had this problem). It guides iPhone users to hit the yellow "connect to wifi" button, but it doesn't connect you. Please fix this and make sure bathroom is clean and stocked! read more

Cleanest and friendliest Planet Fitness that I have ever been to! I love that this is a two-story facility that has a very open feel to it. I come every morning and all of the workers know my name and are very friendly. I love this place and I am so glad that I became a member almost a year ago and lost over 50 pounds since last October. This is not a bad gym at all and like most planet fitness gyms, this tends to focus a lot on cardio equipment while offering other amenities like tanning beds, massage chairs and various other specialty items to entice customers. I've been going to this location for a few years now and I'm sad to say it's starting to feel like it's getting neglected ; the total body enhancement aka red light therapy unit was absolutely filthy when I used it. Various other places around the gym like the upstairs private bathroom are often pretty unclean as well. There are areas around the floors, machines, and locker rooms that you can see dust, dirt and whatever else that have started to accumulate. What bothers me the most is that all of this is,happening while the franchise is making it a point to boast about being clean and sanitary. Additionally, most staff (not all but most) I have seen while..there are often hanging out at..the front desk on their phones; if you have time to be on your phone, you have time to clean up your place of work. I will knock the friendliness of the staff or the equipment as both are very good and I cannot complain about those. The pricing for what you get can't be beat. I'm just unhappy to see that the overall condition of the gym seems to be getting dirty and compromised. read more

This club is nice looking and reasonably clean. The equipment is good shape. I did have an issue with a machine. The machine was not repaired however the sign was removed. I inquired at the front desk and was told they don't know anything about it. I have since had a few questions for the staff. These questions are always met with blind stairs and/or one word answers. Recently I noticed most people in the club is not wearing masks. I inquired and was told while working out a mask is not necessary. I then noticed many people entering and exiting the club not wearing masks. So, I stopped wearing mine. After watching three people enter the club with no mask, I entered. I was stopped and told to enter I have to wear a mask. I was made to go to my car and get my mask to enter. I did that. While working out I noticed more members entering and exiting not wearing masks. I asked the front desk about this and was again met with a blind stair and no response. Today I spoke to the manager. I told him I feel singled out. His response was the mask policy. I asked if I should practice the policy or follow what every one else is doing. He repeated the policy. I told him I am a gay man (which is obvious) thus applying this policy to me and no one else is offensive. He invited me to call the main office followed by, If there is any thing else I can do for you call me. read more

The facility itself is clean and well maintained but the workers are absolutely irate. I walked up the the counters as a person under the age of 18 and told her I had an appointment for massage chair and the old man worker next to here said to me "how old are you" and I responding saying my age and he went off on me stating " YOU CANT GO BACK THERE, YOU ARE TOO YOUNG MISTER, DO NO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND THE RULES, YOU CANT HAVE A BLACK CARD" This I now understand. But the way the worker handled the situation was uneeded. Planet fitness promotes that all of their workers will show you the ropes and care for you and it is a judgement free zone but he did not show this. I really loved the gym. It's a super clean facility with plenty of machines and cardio equipment, plus a variety of free classes that often feel like personal training sessions. While well attended, this location never feels overcrowded. More so, manager Kobe is always super helpful about any issue with your membership. Just found out that there's a limit to the number of times I can go to another Planet Fitness. This was never communicated when I signed up and I can't find this limitation anywhere on the website. Other items with limitations have asterisks. Would have been nice to know before I showed up at the visiting location and they turned me away. Really enjoyed my membership up to this point. read more
