It's like a health spa palace. It's unreal and feels like a healthy boogie city. There's a restaurant with every healthy food item you can think of and some unhealthy to boot. A spa and salon, two large indoor pools, hot tub, two massive outdoor pools, water slides, lawn chairs, cabanas and table areas. Oh did I mention it has child care, group fitness and every matching known to man. Plus this place is clean! The locker rooms have a bathroom buffet of Q tips, cotton balls, razors, mouthwash, shampoo, body wash, conditioner. I've never seen anything like it in my life. So from my perspective this place is the Disney land of health clubs. We spent our day at the outdoor pools when I visited and I never wanted to leave. It's a pretty price at $200 a month- I think I paid less in rent in the 90s. But, shit if you like a clean place with frills this it!

I had a great time even though I miss my Alhambra Fit Body team back home, Coach Bryan made me feel right at home here in Virginia. This is not a large gym where you feel judged by younger workout enthusiasts or weightlifters. My sessions were comprised of just women, like me, working out for 45 minutes per session in the classes. Most of the others in my class are long time members and you can tell they have a developed a connection with one another. In the past I joined a nearby gym and it had a lot of equipment and no guidance (unless I agreed to pay for a personal trainer) and later I joined a workout class for women at a county-run aquatic and fitness center, which was not much about weights or other equipment. It was more about aerobics than anything. Cardio is important but I am most interested in strength training and improving my balance. Those issues were not truly addressed in that particular class. At the Fit Body Boot Camp there is small but useful equipment for different levels of strength. As strength improves, a stronger weight or resistance band can be used. Building strength will naturally help with balance issues (very important as we age). My particular needs were what this class was all about. The only thing I would suggest is that they add yoga classes. I was told there that my hips are tight and that I should work on that. Since I have to take a break from the classes for the next two months due to my work schedule I googled how to remedy the issue. It looks like yoga could be very helpful. Perhaps if they had late afternoon yoga I could join that.

I have been doing crossfit for over 2 years and I have done drop-ins in multiple boxes in multiple…read morestates, and this is by far the best box I have been too based on multitude of reasons: Intense programming: They have a new structure of programming i have not seen in any other gym. It's hard and it makes you go past your breaking point. They normally do not do much explaining of the complex movements due to the compact structure of the class. They normally do a warm up WOD right into a strength WOD followed by an hardcore WOD. I was on the floor after each class for 5-8 minutes trying to gather my thoughts and breath. Social: As a typical drop-in you normally are faced with just showing up and not saying anything to anyone. It's a different experience compared to going to your own gym, but they made me feel right at home as soon as I walked in the door. Each person in the class introduced themselves to me and it made me feel like I was apart of this gym. When it came time for me to depart ways after 2 weeks, I was actually sad to meet such awesome people and say goodbye. Cleanliness and structured: Normal places are somewhat clean and organized, but this place is top notch. I didn't feel disgusted or unclean by working out. Automatically, crossfit gyms have a style that is different then most and since they are mom and pop operated, they typically clean it when they have time too - not this place. This gym seemed like it was cleaned quite frequently, probably daily. The stains of chalk from the previous day were gone the next day. It was amazing! Overall, would feel right at home here if I lived in fredricksburg and I am sad that I couldn't spend more time here. I have 1 recommendation because a proper critique wouldn't be done correctly without it: Water station: After each WOD I was desperate for water and since I am a drop-in I don't have the stuff I normally have back home such as a water bottle. They have a fridge that has fresh water, but a large water dispenser with paper cups would be fantastic for a great cool down after theseWODs.
