All gyms have their own identity and personality. So far I've throughly enjoyed my time at this location. Anytime Fitness locations are typically not this big where I live in the metro Atlanta area, so it's very nice to experience this. This Anytime Fitness gives a lot of room to the free weight area, probably half the facility. Great location with a real gym feel. Lots of room, unfortunately not a lot of equipment, so I avoid it during peak hours. No designated bench press stations but power racks are available. Only one shower available for men and one for women, another reason i don't come during rush hours. Back room has a lot of extra training equipment for gravity and bodyweight training. Too many "warning" signs hung up around the gym. "$5 fine for failing to return weights to rack". Overall a good gym! read more

I went to this gym to look around to sign up and had a bad experience. I went in and a young man gave me a 1 minute fast tour, he did not show me or explained anything to me. I got to the office and told them that my company has a discount for employees and they told me that I need to sign up with the company and that they need to tell me what to do. I asked them about a special that it is adverticed 30 days for free and 20.00 dollars a month and the lady told me not here this is privately own we do not have a 30 day for free and 20 dollars a month.....Do not go to this gym, they suck and they don't even bother to help you out in any way. I agree with Randy A's basic sentiments on this location of Anytime Fitness. This fitness facility is a great GYM. Last time there, one serious trainer was doing real, full squats and some others were doing real lifting in the Cross fit room. Plus, a couple senior citizens were doing their thing without distraction or intimidation. ANYONE looking to do a workout of any sort would feel welcome here. It's a friendly and serious place to train. This place has excellent leg training equipment with the smoothest , "old school" hack squat machine, I've ever used. The treadmills are sturdy and smooth and most everything works. You can do an effective combination of traditional lifting with adequate machine training. The shower room ,bathroom /changing areas are small , but being a 24/7 "key gym" it's clean and adequate. If you're looking for swimming pools and hot tubs, pay the $$ and go to a big box health club. I live on the southern end of Cumming and often travel a few miles north to train at this location. I've been training seriously since the 1970's and have been to 100's of gyms I love the atmosphere and feel like I'm in a REAL GYM. read more

Tried to go by today to get information, possibly make this my new gym home. After waiting about 10 minutes for the office staff to "return from Kroger" (according to a sticky note on door) I decided to leave. Upon leaving I noticed a "I stand with planned parenthood" sticker in the window. While this is America and you certainly have the right to your opinion and to express them, I don't feel as though your gym is the place for it. You know how you walk into some branches of Anytime Fitness and it just seems lacking? Thinking that particular location might be a better suited as a "Curves" or some other feminine fitness oriented brand (can you say "Planet Fitness")? Well NOT THIS ONE! This is a refreshing outlier amongst it's peer group! This is a GYM, with excellent equipment designed for meatheads to put on muscle. It has ample square footage where things don't feel like they were forced to fit; it is laid out nicely and even has a back room filled with cross fit items and there's actually space between equipment in the main lifting area (so you're not hitting your shin adding weight to your bench bar, etc). The dumbbells are in great shape are laid out is a row (not at an angle) and they go up heavy enough! They have a great selection of new cable handles (soft, rope, EZ curl, angled etc). And they have good mirrors (please!! You know that's important, don't judge). The clientele is friendly and more fit than at other Anytime locations. You can tell that people enjoy using the higher end equipment to put on some quality muscle! They also don't have bitchy notes posted all over the gym whining that people don't put up their weights and surprisingly all the weights seem to be put up without such nagging. As a side note, I find that lifters most guilty of not cleaning up their weights are the low- middle use lifters. The ones that come in 2 times per week and act like they know everything about lifting, ever. The real lifters usually clean up after themselves. I was so impressed with this location that I actually wished I lived close enough to make this my regular gym! It has also made me want to go back to the review for my home Anytime Fitness location and take away a star from my previous review- because THIS location in Cumming is doing it RIGHT. Besides... it was nice going to a gym with lots of fit people-- it keeps me motivated. read more

Overall, the place is filthy and is not up to my standards. Equipment is not clean and takes weeks to get fixed, if they break. Restrooms are consistently overwhelmed with the smell of urine. Management and owner are lazy. Poor lighting, ceiling fan shrouds have come loose. Speaker and controls are ass backwards are do not work appropriately. You mention your concerns about the place and their response is "do you want to cancel" If that is how you feel about customers, then you will be out of business sooner, rather than later. read more

I've been a member for three years and overall am very happy there. They are always working on ways to make the experience better. The members consist of all ages and they offer a variety of fitness options. I do agree that peak hours are a challenge as it is a smaller gym and there is only so much equipment to go around. That said they are working on another expansion so hopefully they recognize the congestion as well. read more

This is the worst experience I've ever had with a gym. It was always dirty. Always out of paper towels or sanitary wipes. The company who handled the credit card charges charged me double two months in a row had to go through canceling my credit card and disputing the charges before I got my money back even though I had a horrible experience with the gym all they wanted was their money stay away from this gym. They do not care if you're happy about the gym as soon as you sign up they will steal your money horrible company horrible financial company horrible experience I wish I never signed up with them. They charge $60 a month. They want to charge you to keep the equipment yet they never do anything with the money they take from you nothing has changed at this gym in and they charge me to additional $60 for upgrades read more

I'm looking for a gym and anytime fitness is the latest one that I have checked out. I like that there are so many locations to choose from. This location in particular was much larger than it appeared. The concern with a gym is of course getting there when it is busy and having to wait for equipment. But it was pretty well stocked. They had approximately 8 eliptical machines, lots of weights, treadmills & bikes. If you are into free weights they had tha as well and a large (separate) room away from it all for their classes they offer (free with membership). I don't tan, but if you do they also have tanning for about $10 a month. They are a little pricey compared to others unless you choose a 18 month package. read more

Watch out with their contracts. Read the tiny print because they will not tell you about the cancelatoin fees or fees associated with freezing your account, etc... Other gyms like Just Fitness are the same price or cheaper and much larger with way more equipment. Over not impressed and certainly not impressed with mgmt/ownership. read more

This place is an absolute dump. Equipment is broken, place is always dirty and the staff is unfriendly. Stay away from this gym. I was there for 3 weeks and left. They wouldn't void my contract. 6 other people in my new gym said the same exact thing. BOOO! The one in Dawsonville is just as much of a dump. Don't go there either. read more

We have belonged to this gym for about 10 months. There are a few good things....location, and they have individual TV's at the treadmills and ellipticals. The real problem is that the gym is filthy. The machines are never cleaned, ceiling fans dirty, TV's are filthy with thick dust behind them as well as on the TV itself....and about 1/2 the fluorescent lights are burned out. Have complained numerous times, but there is always an excuse, owner out of town, owner out of the Country, it snowed....he just did it! Yesterday (Sunday) there were no paper towels by the treadmills....both containers empty. This is a gym....full of germs and needs to be kept clean. If the owner doesn't want to put in the effort....needs to hire a cleaning service! read more

I absolutely refuse to give this gym another penny of my money!!!! I started a membership in 2014. I had been going for about 4 months when I got an email saying my bank account had be compromised and Bank of America was shutting my account down and sending me a new account number. This just so happened to be on a weekend and when my monthly payment was due. My payment had been taken out on Sundays. No one is working at the gym on Sunday. I called and left multiple messages Saturday and Sunday. I got a call early Monday morning saying that they are charging me $20 as a late payment fee. I explained what had happened and showed the manager the email from Bank of America. He very rudely told me that "it wasn't his problem." So I let it go and just paid it. As I'm giving my new account information, he is texting on his phone. Over the next two months, I was getting charged twice a month. I tried called but no one ever answered. When I came in to figure out the problem. I had printed out my bank statements showing that I was getting charged twice a month. The same guy, (bald tattooed guy with a bad attitude) told me that I was lying and I had made up the statement sheet to avoid paying my monthly fee. After many, many phone calls to the person who owns the gym, the problem was solved. They had put my account number on two different accounts, so I was getting charged for my account and someone else's. They seemed very careless and not once apologized for the mistake. They are always completely rude. A girl that works there named Haley is always rude and hateful. The gym is also unclean. Tanning beds are filled with dust and have hair stuck in them. Very disgusting. They also charge a lot more than other gyms and aren't as nice and the employees are so rude and not helpful whatsoever. I will never be back. And I encourage anyone thinking about this gym, to save their money and join somewhere else. It isn't worth the trouble. read more

Went to this gym recently to ask about membership and was not impressed. The manager was a complete snob and talked down to me. I honestly just wanted to get a membership to utilize the treadmills during the hottest months of the summer, but the manager basically talked me out of a membership saying i needed to keep training outside. After they found out I would be running a half marathon in Florida in Feb 2018 they told me it was going to be about 90+ degrees at /6-7:30/ in. the. MORNING. No, I used to live in Florida and never has it reached 90 degrees so early in the morning. Also was told instructors will call out and heckle anyone who leaves a class early. Excuse me? I'm PAYING you, I don't feel comfortable knowing I can be harassed by staff if I have to leave a class early. I sure hope their instructors have thick skin and don't mind paying customers clapping back at them if thats the case. read more
