got membership of LA Fitness in Cumming GA almost 2 years ago. After 4 months I desire to cancel membership. But it wasn't so easy. So I call them and request to cancel. They said, they will do it but after 2 months I realized that they still charging me $10 pr month. And they said that I need to come and cancel it with them. So, I did it. But after 2 years I realized that every month they still charging me $10 each month. Some month was even plus $49 , another month was additional $10 and $5. So, I call them and ask them what's going on. They said that nobody cancel it but they got record about my requesting canceling on that time 2 years ago. So now they canceled by the phone call but I can't take back my money and it is looks like scam for me. read more

Management seems to manage this operation with a shoestring budget. The Wi-Fi has been out for over three weeks now and the excuse is they can't get anyone to go out there and I am supposed to believe this. Most of the TVs at the ellipticals don't work. This is a super great place to work out. My fiancée and I work out in here quite a bit and like it a lot. The staff and regular gym-goers are all pretty nice. Here is what you need to know: -Tons of cardio equipment -Tons of nice weight machines -A very large free weight area (yes you can squat & dead lift) -On staff personal trainers (cost extra) -Variety of fitness classes (including spin classes) -Nice locker-rooms with ample restrooms and showers -Saunas They do not have a pool, hot tub, or basketball gym... but there is another LA Fitness like 15 minutes away if you really want all that. Also - they do get quite busy around 6pm-8pm on Monday-Thursday. Bottom-Line: This is a nice gym with all the things you're going to need to work out. The price is fair. Not sure why people wouldn't give it 5 stars unless they 1) have unrealistic expectations 2) are a snowflake or 3) didn't read their contract when they joined. Solid gym - Can't go wrong. read more

A slam dunk 5...new, fresh, and clean! I love that when I visit my family here in Cumming that I no longer need to drive over to Alpharetta. This is a much nicer location and set-up too. Everything is on one level with plenty of cardio machines located right in the front. None of that 2d level stuff where after doing 30 minutes of cardio you feel like you are running in the desert. Of course all of the weight machines are brand new too. All of the models are a step up from anything I have seen before. My hometown LA Fitness replaced quite a few machines about a year ago and the stuff here even blows that away. A boatload of free weights too and they even have the in-between (I guess that is what they are called) Dumbbells - 27.5, 32.5, etc...at this spiffy new location. The room where they do the classes looks enormous and of course the spin room is just as nice. They also have a private training area for the trainers which is a nice touch. The dressing rooms are big enough and they have a sauna in the shower area too. They don't have racquetball courts or a pool. I didn't notice a juice bar, but could have missed it. This LA Fitness is A-OK! It's a good little place for a quick workout. The best parts of the place: 1) brand-new equipment; 2) TVs with about 10 channels attached to all the aerobic machines (hey, good to see what's happening in the world once in awhile!) 3) Free WIFI! No more draining your data while listening to iHeart Radio or Pandora on your phone! 4) Good temperature control -- never too hot or cold. 5) There are some aerobic classes, although I've yet to check these out. 6) Lots of parking. 7) Reasonable membership price, and the membership can be used at other LA Fitness clubs in the area. However, there are a few disappointments, compared to other LA Fitness clubs: 1) No basketball court 2) No swimming pool 3) Only 1 set of water fountains, with a paltry flow of water -- better to bring your own water bottle 4) No hand sanitizer? Could this be possible, or have I just not found it yet?? Update (July 2016): Found the hand sanitizer! There are a few in the free weights area and one on the wall near the aerobics room. Also, tried the Zumba. Good instructor, interesting choreography, and not too busy. read more

Dishonest business practices and poor customer service! I have been a member of LA Fitness for about five years and have had an overall good experience at other locations, however after the latest experience with Tony and Jacob at this location I am cancelling my membership. When I attempted to use my fob at the club today, despite having used the same fob since I joined, I was told my fob was deactivated and I would need to pay a "special fee" to reactivate it. When I stated that was ridiculous and I would be cancelling my membership, I was told I was unable to cancel on Saturday. I walked out the club upon hearing this. read more

Please do yourself a big favor by Not enrolling at the personal training session at this gym. All they care is for their commission and use unethical, dishonest claims to make you join. I will always regret throwing away my money at this training program and offcourse trusting them. They promise one thing and write something else in the contract to save themselves at corporate level. Lesson learnt. And offcourse the callous attitude once they get their money from you, they wash hands off their tall claims and sessions they promised you at time of enrollement and leave you to resolve your issues. Corporate helpednhut their hands are tied too and some even ask you to prove your claims. Wow! Thank you for all mental anguish and did I mention injuries while working with the efficient trainers? Bravo! Truly personalised to leave you reeling, hurt, upset and betrayed! La Fitness has always been a favorite gym of mine. The location in Cumming GA is very clean and is always well maintained. Weights are always placed in the correct location which shows the integrity of the staff and members at this gym. Never have I seen this place overcrowded which allows for a "set your own pace" style. They take COVID-19 seriously offering members a spray bottle at the front /checking temperature of each person and throughly clean all the machines routinely. I highly recommend you and a friend/ family member come in and get your sweat on! read more

What happened? I joined because LA Fitness was convenient, clean, and staffed with good, athletic people. I leave a professional job to find stress reduction and relief from the office stress and formality. Now often the front desk is not manned. The manager wears spike heels and office attire - exactly what I do not want to see. I want staff who can greet you upon arrival, come from behind the desk when approached, and provide assistance and conversation about fitness. If she/they want to wear office attire and heels, go get a job in an office. If they want to be recognized professionally in a gym, look fit, wear fitness attire and be on duty for the members who come seeking fitness. read more

I've been an LA Fitness member for about 3 years now and have been to multiple locations all over the Gwinnett, Forsyth, Fulton, and Dekalb county areas...this location has THE BEST team. The trainers are attentive to your specific goals, work with your work schedule, and go above and beyond basic expectations to make sure you are getting your money's worth. You aren't a paycheck to them, they care. For 4 months now I have been training with Miguel Castillo, who has shown nothing but enthusiasm and dedication towards helping me reach my goals physically, maintaining them mentally, and then some. Derrick, the Personal Training manager, and Darron, another PT, also invest their energy into making sure the personal training experience is fun for clients and that working out doesn't become a "chore". Highly recommend Miguel and this team for achieving any personal goals!! read more

Be careful before your join. The gym itself is very nice, but I find their cancellation process ridiculous. I joined a couple of years ago on a family plan. We found that we weren't attending so I called to cancel. They informed me that I had to go into the gym to cancel. So I went in. Then I was informed that I had to come in and cancel while the manager was there. So I took off from work one day and came in to cancel with the manager. She talked me into freezing my account. After further review, I decided to cancel for good so I took off from work again to cancel with the manager. She kindly canceled. Many months later I find out that they only canceled my portion. Since my husband wasn't present, they reinstated him and charged my credit card for several months before I noticed. Ridiculous! Be VERY careful when considering a membership. read more

All I need is here. Very good people go here. A lot of exercise machines and running machines are here also. When i go it is easy to run or walk or jump rope and then go to the machines to get tone and fit. It is not cheap like Planet Fitness but it is better and has more to do. read more

This place is fabulous-great people and the equipment is plentiful. I have had a trainer for about 6 months and he has been transformative. His name is Miguel Castillo and he is talented, professional, and funny. I have lost weight and started to get slight definition. And I am old so that is saying something :). Also have great spinning classes and Ashley cannot be beat. She has great music and drives the classes with a cattle prod-in a good way. Also Derrick, manager, is welcoming and encouraging. And Dominick is helpful and friendly. All in all, the place to get fit! read more

When i was telling blonde guy at front desk.. he totally didnt even seem like he cared about being ther.. its s busy time for classes.. why not get some good instructors to fill up the class!!. This Gym is THE WORST gym I have ever been to. Any time it rains the whole gym smells like mold and its unbearable. Some days the air conditioning doesn't work and equipment seems to always be broken without an answer of when it will be fixed.. The staff is rude and dishonest. I tried cancelling my membership multiple times and the staff gave me the run around every time. I took off work because the "operations manager" has to approve the cancellation and only works 8-5 Monday- thursday and 8-4 on Friday. HA! I went on my lunch multiple times and was told to come back another time. They will do everything they can to keep you from cancelling- terrible customer service. I will be going to Golds Gym, where customer service is 5 stars and equipment is working. I wish I could give this gym 0 star Do not waste your money here! read more

I talked to Melody Jones when I first came in and after talking to her for 15 minutes I had a defined workout plan to get me to my goal. She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and will give it to you straight because she has your fitness goals, well being and health as top priority. I highly recommend you go talk her to get started on your fitness goals. read more

The gym is fine and the trainers are nice., but customer service is embarrassing. I thought I completed cancellation paperwork more than 2 months ago, but they continued to charge me for this months even when I had a cancellation confirmation and never even attempted to go back there. The good: new, clean, a very good selection of free weights, machines and treadmills. The bad: no pool; no basketball; no racquetball; no customer service. It's like this whole location was an after-thought, sort of an LA Fitness LITE. Their staff isn't rude, they just ignore you. And get this: they have the cleaning crew on the main floor during prime-time at 5 - 7pm every night. Who does that? Why do we have to walk around the cleaning crew, and smell their chemicals during the busiest time of the day, not to mention tripping on the cords to their vacuum cleaners. read more

I've been a member for 10 years and I'll continue to renew my membership. Not thrilled about the TV screens on the treadmills. I'd rather have cooling fans. I just have to make sure I pick a treadmill that's underneath one of the ceiling fans, which cools/helps just a little. Yes, this location is lacking a pool, basketball court, racquet ball courts, hanging boxing bags and a juice bar (remember to bring your bottled water). Eventually, I'm hoping we can have access to the heavy rope, TRX straps and plyometric platform boxes, which are sectioned off for personal training clients only, at this time. read more

While loving it when it first opened, I had to cancel due to the crowds and the length of time it is taking me to get through a workout. Sales does their job a little too well as they are cramming people in like sardines and I'm tired of waiting to get on equipment at every station. I have no doubt it is empty in the afternoon but I can't go until the evening and it simply is an inconvenience to workout there any longer. read more

Lacking pool and sauna, it still offers classes and personal training sessions I had the pleasure of getting in 2 workouts with Drew this past week and I highly recommend him. The facility itself is great, all the equipment is new and in great condition. The customer service manager, Catrice, on the other hand is terrible. I have never dealt with a manager who treats people so poorly. My husband and I were treated terribly when we tried to find out how we were charged for a yearly personal fitness trainer when my husband only signed up for four classes as explained to him by the personal training salesperson. Not only did Catrice hang up on my husband when he called her, she continually told him she was with customers and not able to talk to him (um, hello, as people paying for a service you provide what does that make us?) She refused to help us and would only give us a generic number to LA Fitness so we could resolve it on our own. I would only recommend going here if you don't ever anticipate having a question or needing help resolving an issue. read more
