My wife and I had been barbell training at home using Starting Strength methodology for about a year when we decided we needed the guidance of a coach to help us continue our strength development. We came to see Dan for a one day clinic where he coached us through each of the main lifts (squat, press, deadlift and bench press) and taught us fundamental principles of programming and nutrition. This personalized one-on-one coaching and teaching was invaluable to our training. Dan is professional, articulate, and friendly. His gym is very clean, well set up and has high quality equipment.

They plan their workouts and they track their progress. I highly recommend you contact Coach Dan Raimondi to learn how to train so you can get stronger and enjoy your life more! What will Coach Dan teach you? He'll teach you how to train with barbells in a safe and efficient manner. He'll teach you how to plan and log your training. He'll teach you how to get strong. He will push you when you need it, but he will also reign you in when you get a little over-zealous. He does all this in his clean and efficient gym either one-on-one or in a small group setting. This is simple stuff, yet so many trainers love to make things complicated. Anyone can write up an exercise routine that leaves you soaked in sweat and ready to pass out. But it takes a highly skilled professional to teach anyone, no matter what age or experience level, how to systematically become stronger, using barbells, and how to do so without getting injured. In addition to Dan being very highly educated and experienced in his field, he is very easy to get along with. He is a great guy and a humble family man. Whether you are a middle-aged dad like me, a teenager who needs to get strong for sports or an elderly person who is feeling their strength and quality of life diminish, Dan has the experience and passion to make your life better by dramatically improving your strength. Hiring a professional like Dan to guide you as you learn how to get strong is certainly more expensive than joining a big gym. However, it is truly an investment in yourself. You will become far more knowledgeable and capable and you will get stronger. When you look at the time and personal attention Coach Dan gives you, you quickly realize that you are getting quite a bargain, actually. Case in point, my health has improved so much under Coach Dan that my health and life insurance rates are now lower. So I'm experiencing a better quality of life and the training is now paying for itself! It's a win-win!

The gym near me is okay, but I didn't like using some of their equipment. This gym has a little private studio with natural lighting and it was nice to use when it wasn't busy. It's located in a plaza with other stores and restaurants.

The manager's demeanor exuded arrogance and superiority, leaving you feeling small and insignificant. Their utter lack of compassion and customer service skills made it clear that your concerns were not a priority. Despite being a paying member for a year, your grievances fell on deaf ears. The manager's dismissive attitude and refusal to listen to your valid complaints left you frustrated and unheard. It's heartbreaking to think that a place that should promote health and positivity instead harbors such neglect and apathy. To be denied a mere three minutes to express your struggles in reaching out for help is not just disappointing but also deeply disheartening. It's a betrayal of trust and a stark reminder of the power dynamics at play. This experience leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, tarnishing the image of the gym and its supposed commitment to inclusivity and care. The manager's behavior, tainted with racism and a sense of entitlement, is not just unacceptable but abhorrent. It's a stark reminder of the injustices that persist, even in seemingly mundane interactions. The disappointment and shame of having such toxic leadership in your neighborhood speaks volumes about the need for change and accountability. I consistently advocate for the success of local businesses, however, I cannot in good faith recommend this establishment to others due to its inadequate management practices.

On August 11th, a classmate of my younger son invited him to play at the YMCA. So, despite heavy rain, we went to this YMCA. However, when we tried to swipe my membership card for entry, we were informed that my card had expired last month and were asked to leave and reapply for membership. Seeing my child's disappointed expression, I asked the staff if it's possible to renew the membership now since it's set up for automatic deductions. They could deduct the payment now. The staff coldly replied: "No!" They demanded that we go home and reapply by filling out forms. I attempted to negotiate, saying: "We came a long way in the rain, can I fill the form now and could you please update my membership card now?" The response remained indifferent: "No! You must fill out a new application. It's our policy.." Can I read your policy? I asked. No! I don't have it...... I asked, "Could you please have your manager check if it's possible to update it now?" The reply was, "I am the manager," and proudly showed me his name tag: Max! I'm not sure if this is the YMCA's policy or discrimination against me as an Asian? Membership expiration wasn't communicated, and the renewal process is so troublesome! Being treated this way as a YMCA member, humiliated in front of my child, has left me heartbroken!
