We camp but we have had friends stay in the cabins. We stayed in the wooded sites kindling is our favorite, big sites easy to pull thru and lots of space for the dog to hang out too. Fire pit is always cleaned up and looking nice. Water and sewer hook up area is clean and looks nice too! We have stayed in the sites facing the lake too and those are nice as well. I have heard the lake is beautiful but we have not been out on the lake yet! We always look forward to our next stay!

After checkout the next morning, we got a call from Sweet Janis letting us know that the "hatch" of the flies was unexpected and not normal and THEY REFUNDED OUR STAY!! Back then a good resort cabin was one where the screens weren't ripped and the screen door closed to keep the misquotes at bay. Boy things have changed. Scott and Beth's Otter Tail Beach Resort is nothing at all like those resorts of my childhood. I stayed in one of the smaller cabins and it was modern, clean, and very functional. There was a nice complete kitchen area, a TV, and a nice shower right in the cabin. The woodwork and detail was awesome. In some ways the cabin was nicer then my house. When I'm in the area again, I will definitely stay here.

Poor reviews on other platforms but we thought it was great. The camp sights had trees and brush for some privacy. It was quiet and very clean. The bath house was dated but cleaned every day. We paid $15 per night for a boat lift. The family that owns it was very friendly and helpful with fishing tips. We'd go back.

We had very low expectations going in, but ended up being pleasantly surprised and had TONS of fun! We stayed in Cabin #5, which is the most private. We loved the location and front window view of Lake Minnewaska. Though everything was a little "dated," the cabin was very clean and comfortable. We had plenty of room, though we spent most of our time outside of the cabin! Firewood readily available for purchase and lots of rental options. We rented the pontoon and had a blast. Randy and Judie (the owners) are very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable cabin experience on a beautiful Minnesota lake!

As of 2015, the new owners are great. They have made many changes and improvements such as replacing the water system for the cabins and implementing resort-wide Wi-Fi. I hope the good changes continue to come. Fishing is generally good, especially for crappy, bluegill, and bass. They have boats available for rental as well. As for the resort, there are a number of water toys available such as canoes, paddle boats, etc. The swimming area has a raft that is an absolute blast to play "Tilt the Raft" or "King of the Raft." They also have a water trampoline. The costs can be pricey, with the regular cabins running around $1300/week, but overall it is definitely worth it. Weslake Resort simply has more benefits than other resorts can compete with. Would recommend!
