On August 11th, a classmate of my younger son invited him to play at the YMCA. So, despite heavy rain, we went to this YMCA. However, when we tried to swipe my membership card for entry, we were informed that my card had expired last month and were asked to leave and reapply for membership. Seeing my child's disappointed expression, I asked the staff if it's possible to renew the membership now since it's set up for automatic deductions. They could deduct the payment now. The staff coldly replied: "No!" They demanded that we go home and reapply by filling out forms. I attempted to negotiate, saying: "We came a long way in the rain, can I fill the form now and could you please update my membership card now?" The response remained indifferent: "No! You must fill out a new application. It's our policy.." Can I read your policy? I asked. No! I don't have it...... I asked, "Could you please have your manager check if it's possible to update it now?" The reply was, "I am the manager," and proudly showed me his name tag: Max! I'm not sure if this is the YMCA's policy or discrimination against me as an Asian? Membership expiration wasn't communicated, and the renewal process is so troublesome! Being treated this way as a YMCA member, humiliated in front of my child, has left me heartbroken!

After watching people try two dispensers, then walk away without cleaning their machines, I went up to the front desk to let the lone employee know of the empty dispensers. I was told they are out of papertowels. Since this is a health and sanitation issue, I suggested contacting the manager to get some, or requesting them from another PF location in the area. I was met with a blank stare. I also suggested signs on the empty dispensers directing people to dispensers that did have towels and was met with more blank stares. I was very disapointed by the lack of concern for client safety. I noticed one machine was out of paper towels 3 days earlier and an employee walked by it several times, which makes me think this is an issue that has not been addressed for days.

They also have 30 cardio machines with televisions mounted on them but not one of the televisions work. That doesn't make any sense. Overall, if you look around the gym, there's dust hanging on everything. If you look above the machines at some of the open ducting I don't think they've blown the dust off that stuff since they've opened. The past few months to manager just closes his door when he gets there. I've never seen him out and about Dusty enough machines or anything like they do at the other locations. I now go to the 45th Street location which is very clean and the South Moorhead location which is also really clean.

My kid loves going there and can play for hours. It's well worth the $4.00 to get in. One thing that could be fixed is there is no wireless in the play area. This is a hassle when I have some work that I would like to get done.
