Looking for a true 24/7 gym?! Then anytime fitness is the place to be! I absolutely love this place. Before coming here, I was used to the big Costco sized gyms. Here, I feel valued, seen and not embarrassed. It is the least intimidating gym I have been too. Best part? It's small, intimate and you can come here anytime. Most of the machines will be available to you, and they offer so many services. Jason earnest is my trainer, and he is fantastic! I feel so excited I come in every time to work on my goals. All the staff here is amazing, which makes me feel like welcomed here anytime. Once you gain a membership, you can be sure there are other branches you can go to, to work on your fitness goals! Wow! What a great place. I have been here for three months and there a lot of good things I can tell about this gym. First the management is very friendly and knowledgeable, especially Holly(the manager). She actually listens to her clients and make sure they have the best equipment and environment to succeed reaching their tagets. Second the gym is equipped with the best machines and facilities . Third the place is always very clean and maintained well. Fourth, the clients are vey respectful and energized ang helpful and up limited. I signed up for a six month membership and clearly communicated to the Regional Manager, Amanda Q., that I would be moving out of State after that period. I have the contract that specifically states, "Membership ends September 5, 2024." However, after joining another AF in my new State I noticed that this gym continued to charge me. When I tried to resolve the issue with TJ at the RSD gym, he rudely informed me that I had never submitted a cancellation request. I have sent multiple emails and voice messages to Amanda to return my call, but she refused to call me back. When I contacted my new gym and reached out to the corporate office, I was told that the AF in El Cajon needed to handle the matter. Unfortunately when I brought this up to Amanda and requested another phone call, she again would not. Instead, I received another email blaming me for the situation. None of this would be a big deal except now I am unable to access my new gym because there is this outstanding balance of dues after September 5 from the RSD AF that they won't correct. I was told by my new gym that they have reached out to them multiple times with negative results. I wanted to warn anyone considering joining this gym to be very careful. They are great when they want your money, but when you need them to resolve an issue, they suddenly push you to the side. read more

Every time I come in I'm welcomed and all the equipment is well put away and cleaned. Managers are extremely nice and the fitness coaches are top level! Jason is one of the absolute amazing coaches I've experienced. All workouts are guaranteed to leave you exhausted no matter your fitness level. I recently transferred from the YMCA in Rancho San Diego to this gym, because they are so close and cost about the same, and the hours at the Y aren't the best for me... You're paying the same price for a gym that has questionable hours at the Y, sadly. I've only been to Anytime twice since I just started, but I already am so happy with the establishment. Sign up was super easy. Amanda helped me and she was super nice and made things super easy and fast (: Im so pleased with how awesome everything is. I have gone in on both weekend days at about 4pm on saturday and 9:30 AM on sunday, and it was not busy whatsoever either time. The private showers inside of locking (ALSO CLEAN!) restrooms are so nice I have to admit I was embarrassingly excited over that. I really recommend this gym to everyone. This gym has a lot less machines and no lockers. You have to bring your own towels, shampoo and conditioner. They do not have a hydro massage machine. This is in comparison to the Anytime Fitness in Ramona, we are spoiled over there. If you are looking for more amenities, try the Ramona location. I wish all branches offered the same thing. I left a review over a year ago that was 5 stars and I'm back again to leave 5 stars again. Reading the recent reviews, I'm actually a little shocked that a past team member could write that about the gym. Although, I'm not up to date with who's working there and who's not- The girl trainer, who has a name, denene, Is SO nice. She was my trainer (and will be again when I'm available) and went out of her way to accommodate to me and my needs as a client. Everyone there has been so friendly to me and it is just an overall good gym environment. Some pettiness is clearly involved here with the recent reviews and it's a little shocking and unsettling. Joined about 3 months ago after my previous gym prices were way too much. Luckily my employer gives us a discount at this gym. It's not a huge gym like ones w/a ton of machines BUT it offers everything a huge gym has. Honestly I like the intimacy, you see the same people working out and the manager and trainer have alot of personal interaction . There are about 5-6 treadmills and ellipticals with TVs on each. Since I started here I have NEVER had to wait for a machine, even at peak gym times. They do offer some group classes which I havent attended yet but plan to. I love the fact that it is 24/7 unlike my previous gym.Its not attended by staff 24/7 you have an access token. I've been at 4 am alone in there and feel safe . It's well lit and there are cameras all over. I am assuming someone is monitoring. There are 3 restrooms which include nice CLEAN individual showers with towel hooks, soap and a stool. Appear to also meet ADA with rails and wide entries. My trainer Bekah is awesome and has taught me alot on increasing my endurance she has helped me get to another level . They offer personal training at a reasonable price along with small group training of approximately 4 in a group. I've met some nice ladies and Bekah has grouped us so we are all pretty much at the same skill level. Definitely different than any other gym I've belonged too and really enjoy it. Pros: The place is kept super clean, I have never gone into into a restroom (they have 3) without it looking like their maintenance staff just cleaned it up. I don't mind not have lockers available; AFAIK there's never been an incident with theft (although I did have a jacket and small items disappear when I inadvertently left them there, but that's totally my fault). It's not part of a big chain and you don't get that icky "franchise" feeling where the staff is fakey-friendly and overbearing. People (staff and other members) pretty much leave you alone, which is fine with me. Cons: What's the deal with going through so many managers? No, I am not personal friends with any of them, but I do know the nicest and most helpful ones (Paulie and Tristan, if you'd like me to name names) vanish in the blink of an eye and boom, replaced. Most of the time, the members don't get so much as a cursory email about "so and so" is your new manager, which, considering how fast they go through managers is kinda understandable. But it is a little unsettling. Sometimes the new manager will be proactive and introduce themselves, but sometimes not. Also a few other quibbles: You rarely see a manager on the gym floor, so people kind of do their own things as far as yakking on the phone, leaving their gym bag around to trip over, or even practicing their guitar on the treadmill. I like the door being locked 24/7 for my own security (you get in via a fob), but I've been there when the door was left unlocked and anyone can wander in. Considering the somewhat, let's say, disconcerting state of the world in general, I'm not crazy about that. One thing that can be both a pro and a con is how small it is, depending on your personal preferences. I like it myself, it's more of an "neighborhood gym" feel. But there are less machines than a big gym and things can be crowded at times if you are there during peak hours (luckily this is something my schedule lets me avoid). read more

The El Cajon facility used to be ow good when the owners were more involved! it felt like home & family. But that all changed when new management took over. Shawn is the worst manager I've known.He's rude, disrespectfu, passive aggressive, abuses members property & humiliates members. He sits in his office all day on his phone & can't stand constructive criticism. He has single handedly changed the entire environment & so many members are uncomfortable even going in anymore. So sad that a once loving & supportive env went so bad! We left after over 3 years! read more

Hey Yelpers! I wanted to give this gym a 5 star rating because out of all the gyms I've been to in San Diego this one has met all my needs & wants. This gym continues to live up to this rating. Staff is always very helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Anytime fitness staff definitely makes you feel like you're apart of the gym fam. This gym is the cleanest gym I've been a member of in the whole entire San Diego. The members and staff take great care of the equipment. The staff is always cleaning and wiping down equipment, even before COVID. Staff makes sure to check bathrooms, wipe dispensers , & sanitizer dispensers all the time. COVID regulations are enforced by staff and members. This gym is also great regarding pricing. This gym is like your own personal gym and is never packed. My gym is currently an outdoor gym and it's not really comfortable to workout in the cold so I decided to close my membership and try to sign up at anytime fitness on Jamacha Rd, El cajon, the gym seems to be clean and good place to workout, manager was super nice but unfortunately looks like they're trying to take advantage of people during these tough times by charging an arm and leg for a monthly membership and by tying members down with yearly contracts, at 1-2 years contracts along with crazy prices, almost $60 for monthly charge, I was turned down by these policies and decided not to do it for that reason, you guys should be considerate and not try to milk people while they're already struggling with the pandemic in all aspects, I was thinking I could sign up for monthly or 6 months term, what if I decided not to continue? Pay early termination fees I'm guessing, I don't think this is something that everyone would be ok .. I love beIng a member here at Anytime Fitness! It all started when my fiancé and I did the visitors pass. We were in the market for a gym and couldn't decide between here and 24 hour fitness. Anytime may be small but it is RARELY packed. It gets busy sometimes but there is always enough equipment for me to get the workout I am looking for. Tristan helps us and have us a tour of Anytime. They have a really cool state if the art projector in their studio that allows you to choose from a variety of workouts. The projector then projects into a screen and you follow along, its so cool! They have a number of personal trainer who work you to reaching your personal goals. Paul is by far my favorite. They have a number of classes held throughout the well. Yoga and another cardio workout class to name a few. We are really enjoying our fitness journey here at Anytime and would recommend to anyone interested in working out to join! read more

Happy to have finally found a gym to call home! I've done my fair share of gym hopping over the years (various LA Fits, 24 Hour Fitness, Crunch, etc.), but I have to say Anytime Fitness is where I plan on staying. Let me start by talking about the staff. I have never been to a gym where I thought the employees were actually welcoming! And I'm not talking about that fake customer service smile "let me sign you up now no initiation fee" gimmick. The manager at this location took the time to formal introduce himself, told me his office was always open, and to let him know if I have any questions about the machines. Wow, in all my years of gym-going I have never felt like someone actually cared about my actual fitness and goals. Plus, by the many times I have been here I couldn't help but ease drop on some of the personal training sessions... The trainers here definitely have built strong relationships with their clients. This gym feels like a family. Other good notes, the facility is always clean (actually smells really good too). Plus it's never too crowded. I can't tell you enough how much it sucks to be at a gym and feel like most of your time is spent if waiting. And lastly, when they mean 24 hours, they mean 24 hours. All holidays are a go! I signed up for this gym couple months ago. Very clean nice gym but the manager been so rude with me many times. Well I understand the rules and it's the only gym open during this time. First week at gym the manager told metold me to put my bag away in the locker area which is I understand the rule. The next week I was working out, the manager was cleaning removing wipes from the floor and asked me if that was my wipes around and I told her no i keep my wipes under my phone and then throw them away. Last thing today I was working in my yoga outfit she walked and looked then called me and left a voice mail saying I should keep my shirt on and I saw couple times girls with sport bras...so annoying not feeling comfortable to workout there(she killed my vibe) I think work ethics and customer service so important in this business. Actually she is still rude and here is why, I called to cancel my membership couple weeks ago she said ok I'll just send you a paper to sign and send it back to me, she called after couple minutes saying she can't send email, well I told her how but I keep getting emails from you she said I don't know why, when You have time come in person and i did went there at the time she said she was free I couldn't find her and I left. I've been going to this gym for almost 2 years now and I love it! The equipment is always open and it doesn't get too crowded. The keep the gym super clean and the staff even puts the weights away if someone forgets to do it themselves. They have some good classes and 2 private shower rooms. Honestly amazing gym!!! I feel so comfortable going to this gym out of every other gym because it's sooooo clean, has a comforting environment where anyone can use anything, and the staff not only has wipes for everyone but I see cleaners cleaning the gym every time I go there. The new manager also does a great job keeping everything organized. Right when I got signed up and my first day last year I felt apart of the anytime fitness family and became really good friends to all the workers. They really care to see you reach your goals and even if they're not your trainer they still make sure you have the correct form. I just signed up at this gym a month ago. I have been training with Megan and have seen amazing results, physically and mentally! I have lost inches all over my body and have been feeling better about myself! Her positive and empathetic attitude keeps me motivated to push myself even harder. She is focused on helping me achieve my goals and ensures that I always use correct form to prevent injuries. She is also always punctual and very reliable! Everything is already set up ahead of time and she has an exercise routine planned out for each session. I always have fun during our personal training sessions and I recommend her for anyone wanting to challenge themselves and see a change in their body and performance! Anytime Fitness in El Cajon is an awesome little gym. I've been a member of a number of gyms, and while the price tag on Anytime is a bit higher than places like Chuze or Crunch, it really feels worth it. What you get with an Anytime membership is a very exclusive-feeling gym. I typically visit at around 6:00 p.m., which is generally a very busy time for other gyms I have frequented. That hasn't once been the case at Anytime, and I have never had any kind of issues wherein equipment was unavailable. The equipment and the gym itself all seems very well-kept and clean, and the only real thing that seems to be lacking is perhaps a pool (but I don't know where they would put it). Another good point about Anytime Fitness is the staff. Everyone I have met has been extremely courteous and forthright, and I never feel like I am just a commodity. The office manager, Ian, is very professional but also seems to genuinely care about each member of the gym. I was in the market for a more personal, less commercial gym after leaving Chuze. I feel like Anytime Fitness is a great fit for what I want out of a gym. read more

Began by talking to Trystan on the phone and she was extremely pleasant and nice!! Then made arrangementts to go in the following day and was helped by Jennifer who was extremely friendly and gracious and helpful beyond measure!! Cannot begin to recommend this gym enough. I have extremely odd hours at work so most of my worrkouts are after my sparring so a lot of the time it's between the hours of 9pm-1am and with the anytime access it is extremely convenient for me! I joined Anytime Fitness (Rancho San Diego) in March 2016 & I love it. Recently constructed in the Cottonwood shopping center it definitely tops other gyms I've had memberships at. Not only is it brand new with state of the art equipment, but it is open 24/7 making it convenient for hectic or constantly changing schedules. Anytime Fitness as well has quality upkeep in its facility & sanitary bathrooms (IMPORTANT). The best part about Anytime Fitness is that it is not crowded (Even for it being a 24/7 gym) making machines, weights, & the studio available & I do hope it stays this way. Ian the Manager is readily available during working hours and personable. Ian interacts with members on a first name basis more and more (Especially if you are consistent), as well as calling for checkups/appointments & emailing gym classes schedules & changes to it. Plus there is wifi (unlike other gyms) which allows you to spare your data plan in order to access "iCloud" or other apps & the treadmills have individual TV screens (Epic).
