The staff have been welcoming when I have encountered, one sweet lady is often cleaning. The dumbbells go above 80lb which is rare for AF locations. This gym has rarely had more than 12 people inside and it is larger than the many AF gyms I have worked out on the island as well as the mainland. The temporary is always perfect as I have found several AF's are freezing. The equipment is dated but everything is usually in working order. The layout. equipment placement, and flow of the gym is good. Cons - it needs a deep cleaning | some areas of carpet needs repair or be replaced | the small refrigerator rarely has the free water bottle as advertised but they will provide RedBull on occasion | the water fountain / dispenser for sure needs to be cleaned | they need more than 1 stair master | Bottom line, I really like this Anytime Fitness location and I think the staff does the best they can in most areas. Ownership should dig deep and make a few repairs starting with carpet that is tapped down near stretching area and the press machines. read more

I just got off the phone with the General Manager and was told that I can cancel my membership anytime since I'm on an open contract. BUT, their policy requires that I pay for December and January before I will actually no longer be a member. I've been attempting to cancel my membership for a few months. I called their toll free number only to be told that this location requires termination in person. I've called and texted since then with no response. I finally went in person and saw on the door that service is by appointment only. I have an appointment set for tomorrow. It is unfortunate because up until now, I've appreciated my membership. Fantastic place with plenty of parking available - just a good gym & simple workout place that has a trainers for the unmotivated types and everything but they know what they're doing overall good staff and I'm really impressed with their parking to be frankly honest - can never find any parking at most gyms but here you can always find it without an issue and they don't tow if you're in a wrong spot I know that for a fact because I wasn't towed, I was parking in a reserved spot. read more

I originally signed up for a membership with Anytime Fitness at Ka'ka'ako, but due to me being more active at the Kapolei location, they had automatically transferred my 'home' location me to this one. I was on a contract for 2 years with them, and I was paying about $60 a month. I had called them on the phone asking to pause my membership for two months because I will not be on island. The male worker who answered was VERY rude saying 'Why? What's the reason? Is there not an anytime fitness located to where you are going?' I told him that i was going on vacation, and I would prefer to save my money and use it on my trip. And he asked me where I was going in a condescending manner. Keep in mind, I had already surpassed my 2 year contract. On the other hand, out of all the locations on island, this place is the most run down of them all. The equipment is rusty and teared up. And, they take forever to fix broken machines. Let alone there are no a lot of equipment variety for the amount of people who work out there. Lastly, some of the workers have major attitudes. Horrible horrible horrible. This review is for the general manager kourtney or Courtney. So I finally cancelled my membership because I just had surgery on my shoulder and I knew I'm just wasting money if I don't cancel. I woulda sign back up after Im fully healed with my shoulder. So I went there and tried to cancel but it said that on her wall that I needed to make an appt. Ok cool I'll follow that direction. So I called and she answered and she took down my name and asked me if first off I'm legible to cancel my membership so she looked me up in the computer and she said yes I am able to cancel. So she scheduled me an appointment 2 days later. I'm thinking why not now or the next day. She's never busy when I go there and she didn't even have a customer when I was there in person. It didn't dawn on me until Tuesday came and I look at my bank statement anytime fitness took out direct withdrawal the 2 weeks payment. I was like wow. Been going to this gym for a year and a half. Honestly disappointed there were zero improvements in my time here. I'll give slight credit to cleaner bathrooms in new management but no new machines, treadmills and some machines broken for months. Rusty machines and plates. I even spoke with a regional manager after leaving a review and nothing had been done and no follow up. Seems like they're ok with taking money but not putting it into the gym. Kind of sad taking advantage of people that live in the area. I'll be canceling my membership next week. I gave this gym so many chances and it's been let down after let down. Manager seems to only be professional when regional managers or owners are watching other than that acts like she owns the gym whenever I've spoken with her. If you been to the Aiea or town location you know this gym isn't worth the money. TLDR : It's sad this gym has so much potential but in the end is a let down. Almost a year having a membership and it's alright. 24/7 that's what really hooked me in to join this gym. Never again, just going to the gym on the bases here on island. Oh yeah another thing, when they brought back that mini fridge and giving free bottles of water I was glad there's free bottles of water available to take. Not everyday they have water though. I had membership for me and my other half. And we went one time. And never again. Anyways long story short I called months ago maybe even a year ago I don't have all the details just yet on how much I've been charged within that time frame. But my boyfriend got a text message from them saying there was an issue with our membership payments to pls call. My bank card for the first time zerod out and that's pretty much how I found out there was still an active membership through my boyfriends account. I immediately called the Kapolei location to ask why was I still being charged because I called to cancel both of our membership a long time ago. She looks up my file and it was inactive so no charge but his account was active and never canceled. Of course I asked why this happened and the response was "the only way to cancel memberships is to come in and sign a form" so I said okay can you check my file for my account to see if there was a sign form? Sure enough there wasn't any signed form for my account. So that's basically states that you guys had successfully shut off my account through VIA PHONE CALL WHEN I HAD CALLED A LONG TIME AGO and decided to leave my boyfriend account active. It's funny how the only way I found out that they was still taking money from my account was because they couldn't take anymore money from my account because my bank zerod out. No emails and text messages for monthly reminder subscriptions, and NO REFUNDS. Yes you heard that right no compensation for any refunds for the time NOT being spent there. That's including if you never even went at all. Also, if you suspended and canceled either which way they have a happy finger button to reactivate it at anytime with no notice. This wasn't my first rodeo with these clowns. Which now that I look at it I could understand why with so many gyms opening up and so much more options they need to keep their asses a float. False advertising!!! I signed up for the "FREE 7 day trial" online. When I went to workout they said I would have to pay a fee, when it specifically says in the confirmation email: "Thank you for signing up for a free, no obligation, 7-day trial at Anytime Fitness." I don't understand why/how they failed to mention that I would have to pay a deposit... If they are going to have a promotion available they should have included all the information, instead of leading me on to a supposed "free trial". Please, make it make sense??? Kourtney the general manager is never in the gym and has hours posted up in the gym but is never in the office or no where to be seen in the gym and this caused my membership to go into collections because she's shitty at her job. Workout Partner and I have been looking for another gym for a while. we love our other gym, but hours just aren't cutting it anymore. That is what led us to check out Anytime Fitness. This place is just 5 min away from our house and the best part about it is... it's 24 HOURS!!! We have been having a hard time finding a gym with all the equipment we need with hours we can make it. I'm happy to say we have found it! Customer Service: The trainers and associates are available at the gym Monday to Saturday at regular hours (I think 8am to 7pm. Unsure!) We tried the trial membership and finally made the decision to be a member. The associate that helped us was able to get signed on quickly. It was all on a tablet, making the membership process so efficient. (THANK YOU FOR EMBRACING TECHNOLOGY!!) Parking: Let's face it. Parking at the Halekauai Kapolei Center gets tricky. If you come on busy times, it's tough. We tend to exercise late, so we have had no problems yet. Ambience: I LOVE the new equipment and all the weight options. Things are arranged in a way you can work out by sections. (Ab machines on the back, weight training in the front, legs to center. You get it, it is organized!) The one thing really nice is they have a cardio room where you can take classes and stretch when it's available. The nice thing about the cardio room is you are able to pick any workout class at anytime and do it at your own time. For example, you want to try a kickboxing class, you click the class and the project screen comes down and it's like you have a virtual instructor right there! Yes, even at 2am, if you feel like zumba, then go on wit yo bad self! Do some zumba here! Overall, this place is much smaller than the gyms I am used to. But it has everything you need to get a full workout. It has helped my workout partner and I to stay on the ball with our workout routine. Although people may think we are crazy to be working out at 11pm, I am grateful we have the 24 hour option. The location is perfect for us. It also is right beside Amita Spa and right below is Starbucks! All my favorite things rolled into one place! So if you come and check them out, make sure to ask for a tour. Been with this gym for 3 years this month; it's a small intimate gym that isn't near as overwhelming like it's nearby competitor, 24 hour fitness. All the trainers are very nice, and all the sales managers that have come and gone have all been great as well. I've been lucky and joined when costs were still cheaper (way cheaper than current costs). Though they have one month out of the year where they charge $25 extra for "club enhancement", and this year just raised biweekly costs by $3/ $6 a month. Not a problem as I know business costs naturally go up. Though I haven't seen new equipment in the time I've been with them and have made this price adjustment announcement in the midst of the AC being broken for weeks; which I wouldn't have a problem with except no fans in sight and I don't believe the windows open up. I would really like to stick with this gym as it's convenient and closest to me in distance, but it's getting harder and harder. I did really like the playing of christmas movies in the cardio room though haha. read more

I've been to all the other gyms/fitness centers on Oahu and even though AF isn't a big gym, I still love it more than the other ones. They have the gym equipment that I actually do utilize (I don't need a pool, sauna or basketball court lol) And my experience with the customer service is A1! All the staff member's I've come across have been nice and welcoming. FINALLY a GYM in Kapolei?! AND its 24/7 yo. I have lived here for 3years, and FINALLY there is a gym in my area. When signing up, I met the wonderful owner Tom. He made everything for me, my husband and my good friend feel very welcomed. All the way to opening day, Tom came out of his Office and greeted us. At first, I felt SO weird and fat and most def. AWKWARD. So many fit people as I looked around and then I told myself. Wait, why do I CARE what other people think. They are all there for the damn same reason as me and that is to be FIT and Healthy! I have made a couple new friends already during the Zumba class, I was SO shy to go in but Des invited me and I told myself...Why not? Mind you, I do NOT have NO body coordination in dance whatsoever! I was glad that they were in the same boat as me, and I felt more comfortable than ever and had so much FUN! The Class was more like a game, there is no real instructor there. I tried a lot of the machines, The Bicycle -Elliptical - treadmill -Boxing -the swinging of Ropes. I was embarrassed on so many levels..LOL, because really I have NOT been in a Gym since like 2010 or something and a lot of the equipment IS new but that is okay. They are idiot proof! Esp. the Treadmills and Ellipticals. Just a button away and off you start! A lot of people seemed like they were just as confused and new to everything as I was. The showers are still being built, so I was excited for that too. Their really isn't any lockers yet? I am not sure if there will be one or not, but for now there is a little Cubby area where you can put your bag. You don't have to worry about it being stolen or someone messing around in your bag because there IS a camera there anyway. The gym IS quite small right now, and the time I went I felt like there wasn't enough equipment, like the treadmill or ellipticals. I was thinking what if they moved the Gym into the Simply Organized building! since they moved to Ewa Beach. That place is HUGE and would've been perfect place. So far so good though, a lot of people seem quite uncomfortable when they enter. I saw it on their faces. Not going to lie, I felt the same exact way. Since the gym is small too and if you are on one of the equipments you cant help but stare at a reflection of people around you. All in all, a great way to start getting healthy and happy and be better for YOU. When you enter and you are uncomfortable as I was, just be you. I checked this out per signing up for a trial online. Strangely they never called me ahead of time to confirm my appointment, as I've experienced with other fitness centers. When I got there, two guys sat me down and talked about their plans. The free trial was only for 2 days a week, 1 hour a day...not freaking 21 days like they advertised online! Oh and also, they weren't very encouraging or enthusiastic in their approach. I'm chunky and Polynesian. They were probably already deciding my results when they saw me walk in. So they didn't give much effort in encouraging me. I knew that for a fact when I booked another follow up and forgot it, and to date, more than a month after, they still haven't called to check on me again. Here on vacation from California. My home gym is in Alameda, CA. I wanted find an Anytime Fitness close by. Low and behold...jackpot! This location is about 15 minutes from the Ko'Olina Beach Club. I love the fact all the gyms are somewhat different particularly with the weight machines. I love using the Precor diverging machines. OBTW, can't go wrong with the view. The gentleman I spoke to was very nice letting me know it would be a fit for what my husband is looking for. I made an appt in which my husband went only to to be told they aren't for him to go to 24 or croc center. Also told him there was no appt on the books when I stood right there and saw him make note if it. I would think in today's world of competition you would be accommodating to interested patrons. My husband has worked out religiously for over 30 years, and I'm not going to justify his impeccable work ethic to you, but money is defiantly not an issue as you seem to have mentioned several times. If your looking for a gym with everything you need, then this ain't the place for you. Place is small, workout space and equipment are very limited. During busy hours from 5pm-9pm, you barely got room to stretch and waiting to use equipment will take a longtime. They have just the basic, 5 adjustable flat benches but no actual barbell bench. You have to make due with the squat rack. No lat pull down/ row cable machine. As far as pricing goes, it's steep for what they offer as a gym. 12 months= $60/month 24 months= $55/month I guess you pay double for the convenience, smaller space and limited equipment. read more

Parking placards weren't clear to me, didn't realize I was parked on the wrong side of yellow line. Wasn't even in the gym an hour and car was gone. $250 and a trip to Sand Island. My honest review: This is based off my 7-day free pass. I went every day. SERVICE: 3/5 Staff is friendly and they're not over-bearing with trying to sign you up for an extended membership. They're usually talking to people they know, or in the office congregating. ACCESSIBILITY: 5/5 24 hr access with a sensors key. Amazing. EQUIPPED: 1/5 No standard barbell benches. Studio room. 1 rack of dumb bells. 2 squat racks. 1 smith machine. 1 cable cross over. Cardio equipment & various nautilus machines. Etc... very limited on free weights and square footage in general. LOCATION: 2/5 In Kapolei. Parking lot is very congested due to the many surrounding businesses. CLEANLINESS: 4/5 Restrooms are clean. Gym floor and mirrors are pretty clean. People do put their weights away. Overall, it wasn't horrible. It's close to where I live but the monthly due ($55) doesn't justify what they were offering. I decided to stop by and check it out on day. Walked in and was greeted by a gentlemen who stated that he was an owner of the gym. I honestly do not remember his name. He went through the whole gym tour spiel and sat me down to talk about pricing. He mentioned that they have a free one week trial. *seeing that I am a yelper, I mentioned that I saw a free 2 week trial via yelp for this gym* When I mentioned this offer, he said "That's an old offer" Hmmm, OK! He was gracious enough to extend the one week to a two week trial. He took a $20 deposit from me and gave me a key to access the gym. He also mentioned that he would follow up with me in a few days to see how the gym is going and if I am using the trial. He kept putting emphasis on the "personal touch" that this gym has to offer. Stating that the owners reach out to the members to check up and see how they are liking the gym. WRONG, I never once heard from anyone once I walked out that door on the day I signed up for the trial. Follow through with promises please. Facility Review: The area itself is very modern and clean. Employees are only there from 1100 - 1900 daily and after / before those hours, you let yourself in with your own key. That's pretty neat I think. Beginning of last year I took advantage of their 14 day pass. I loved how you have access to the secure gym after hours. With this I took full advantage of my time to workout with little or no people around to workout. The price of membership is not too bad either. BUT since I work in town now unfortunately it is hard to find the motivation to go and this is the only location on Oahu. Also during their peak hours traffic can be difficult. I was extremely excited about joining this gym. I've had a membership at 2 others on the island and wasn't satisfied. Here, the staff is actually helpful and is available for any questions you might have about working out. I also appreciate that the personal trainers do not look like they need one themselves. This is an issue in gyms on the mainland. They have a fob, where you can go in at any time. The gym isn't overly crowded which is great to get a good workout in. They had everything i needed for a full-body workout before my 10 hour flight back to DC. I utilized one of the (two squat racks - which is nice!!! My local gym only has one. Leg press, seated cable rows, pull-downs, and lots of free weights. Also unlike my local gym, the trainer was working with clients in a specific area vice in the busiest area of the gym. There is a personal trainer here, his name is Tomos. He is SO helpful, your 30 day work out plan is planned out strategically through personalized questions. If something has come up, or your work out doesn't make sense. He will try his best to help you. Even demonstrate for you if you needed. It's like personal training was what he's meant to be! Motivation is key. & Tomos is the key to motivation. I think overall even though this gym is smaller than 24 hourfitness, it offers way more service, personalized, very friendly staff, and way more quieter with no competition or uncomfortable stares. read more

This is the perfect gym! It's small enough to be reasonably priced, yet large enough to have everything you need. 2 squat racks, a deadlift area, plenty of cardio equipment, and enough machines to work any auxiliary body part you want. The staff is super helpful and not pushy or sales-y at all. The location is great, with views of the Kapolei/Makakilo hillside. Anytime Fitness seems to have hit one out of the park with the 24/7 business model. Staff is only there as needed, which ends up being 6-8 hours a day 6 days a week. Regardless of this the gym is always clean and everything is always working. I've been to quite a few gyms in my time, including some enormous health clubs with millions of dollars in equipment.
