The gym is fine enough but the contracts are just a scam, they will tell you canceling is an option but when you try to cancel they say you have to wait for the contract to end, honestly you can find way nicer gyms that will treat you better for much cheaper read more

The girl Megan at the front is on a power trip. She terminated my membership because we couldn't agree. I have memberships at a lot of other gyms, I get along great with everyone. I went here one time and thought it was a decent spot for a quick workout, so My husband went there to get a key also (he works a lot So he went in one day he actually got out of work on time) and Megan sent him off because he had the wrong location on the paper for our BCBS active and fit membership (mind you....I used the same exact sheet for myn and she did it just fine!) The numbers they need are your member ID number which was clearly printed on the form. I called active and Fit and they agreed that the ID number should've worked for signing up. Anyways... I called her because he doesn't have many opportunities to go there during their business hours, I asked her why she didn't resolve it with him instead of sending him off. Sounded like she didn't wanna do her job. She was talking over me.... every time I tried to speak which was so rude. I hung up the phone and she began calling me and texting me....(who does that??) Then, said I was swearing and being disrespectful to her which WAS A LIE!! I told her we could agree to disagree and she said since we couldn't resolve the issue she was banning my membership from all locations, Which she did. Talk about immature.... I even have texts to prove this all. She's a joke, and they should have better people representing their facility. read more

I was scared about going at first but now I'm honestly really excited Rebekah is literally a work out saint and certified muscle mamí, thankful for all her advice and time she took to make me feel confident! Her validating my starting point was so needed in building up my confidence, even making me realize I'm stronger than I thought I was. Gym is great. Has what I need. The best part is the trainers!!! They are very good at what they do and show genuine concern for their clients. I do wish other people who use the gym would clean up after themselves, i.e., put weights/equipment back; pick up after yourself. read more

The manager, Megan, is a hack and a scam artist. My girlfriend just called me in tears as she just left after her first and only 30 minute workout at this location, telling me that she did not want to continue her membership at that gym. She had gone back to the manager and told her she would like a refund and that she will no longer be attending this gym, to which she was told that's not something that can be done. As someone who has very tight financials having just graduated, this nearly $150 charge plus up to another 66 a month (more than QUADRUPLE our old gym) is simply something that can not be justified for the return she would be receiving. Only after talking to me and recognizing the free refund within 3 days buried in the fine print did she change her tune and offer to slightly lower the price if she stayed. When this minimal drop was countered due to it still being significantly more than the previous, much nicer gym, she justified the price can't go lower due to a variety of things like equipment and amenity upkeep, something my girlfriend also pointed out as having multiple machines out of order with only one of each kind for many of them. I have seen multiple other accounts of this scamming behavior just in these comments here alone so it is clear this is a pattern, not an exception like she claims it to be as denying knowledge of this refund policy when you are the area manager only to walk it back after being caught is beyond predatory, especially for people who don't have ample experience dealing with gyms. This is clearly not the first person to be victimized by her and it will definitely not be the last. Corporate will be contacted by both myself and my girlfriend. Avoid this location and woman at all costs. Anything would be a better alternative. read more

My girlfriend and I fulfilled a year contract with Anytime Fitness Minooka and attempted to close our account in August 2021. We went in to close our account and was told that there was no manager and was told to go to the Naperville store because our accounts might be there. We went to the Naperville store and they sent us back to the Minooka store. We went back to the Minooka store and was told our account was closed and they said the account was open for an additional thirty days. We never went back and used the gym since we closed the account. Then we started to receive additional bills. I have called and emailed several times and received no help. I'm being told that I should have paid for the additional months after closing and since I didn't make the payment, the account remains open and $55.00 monthly fees continued. Now we both owe over $150.00. The Minooka store has a new manager that is willing to waive a nineteen dollar late fee. I'm willing to pay the $55.00 fee for the last month after closing however the additional two months should be waived due to the close request. Every interaction I've had corporate, Naperville store, and Minooka store have been horrible. No one has been helpful. I feel like this is a deceptive practice. I don't know of any business that would charge after closing. They say it takes 30 days to close. That is ridiculous. Every interaction, I feel discriminated against. I'm not sure if it is my race or age. On one of the calls with Anytime Fitness Corporate, I mentioned how I felt discriminated against; and the representative literally laughed and said I don't even no your age. So let me start by saying make sure you read the fine print. I start off by have a contract of having a personal trainer and having a few sessions a week as long as it works with my schedule. It's not work with my schedule I would go in and work out from 4:00 to about 5:20 in the morning no trainers were available at this time. I do not put this on the trainers. The trainers are excellent and very motivational. This post is about this when I signed up I was told if the schedule was that working with me to do personal training that I could switch over to a regular membership with no fees. This was not the case. The area manager for this location is a joke. I have requested several times to speak with the area manager but she decides to throw it on her management team that is less than experience it in this area since they have new managers and staff. There was a mistake by one of the original employees that opened up the store when he signed me up. Instead of the area manager reaching out to me she decides to go back and forth with the staff there which they don't have any idea what's going on with my membership. I would love to discuss with the area of manager of what something could have been worked out and said I was charged over $300 to cancel a membership while I was currently holding a basic membership. I really hope the owners of this location look into the problem. To my knowledge I am not the only person that has run into this encounter please read the fine print of the contract. My understanding was the day I signed up for the higher membership that I would be able to downgrade to the basic membership without any fees. This is not the case save yourself the time and money. The area manager is a joke. If you are the area manager please feel free to contact me you know who I am I've been trying to get a hold of you for months now.
