The equipment is well-cared for, and the members are a diverse lot. We've been there on a Sunday morning (you might hear some AJR playing) and on week nights. (A bit of Disturbed to thrash to, anybody?) The owner lives nearby and is really into his business. The bathrooms are roomy and well equipped with large private showers. What I really like is everybody is totally comfortable with being their and working on their stuff. All body shapes, all abilities. It doesn't matter, you'll get a smile and a nod. We spent a year debating whether to join a fitness center. The local Y has disappointed us many times. While you'll get the basics here (no pool, no basketball courts) it's all most of us need. There are also fitness classes, which I'd like to try out. Gentle stretching sounds right up my alley.

I contacted Luis and we were able to setup a meeting that same week at my gym. My first impressions of Luis were that he was extremely friendly, professional and truly cared about all of his clients. At our first meeting he wasted no time in taking an evaluation of my current fitness level and abilities, we discussed any prior injuries I had, what my diet looked like, and what my short- and long-term fitness goals were. Luis was always very attentive to my form and limits, but consistently pushed me to go harder or farther than I did the week before. If I ever had poor form or was struggling, Luis would instantly catch it and show me a modified exercise that would allow me to maximize my workout without compromising my form. His knowledge of fitness exercises is seemingly limitless. It doesn't really matter what your fitness goals are because Luis will work hard to tailor a regimen that fits YOUR needs and goals. Since there is video throughout the club---it's a pretty simple task to handle if safety was even something remotely a concern. Not. It's apparently all about the monies. Sad. For social distancing, most younger members do not respect the '6 feet' recommended safe distance in any shape or form. Some do, but most don't. Most are too busy with their phones stuck in their face to have any consideration for the health of others. Sad. Pretty much most/all the older club members (50+) have disappeared from the club ....and I doubt they will be quick to return, if ever. Sad. Staff members are now only one day a week (Wed) from 12-7pm. Consider some place else.

I asked for specific hours, since we have jobs that are morning to evening. They said "they stay for a couple hours". I asked again, sooo you don't know when someone is here. There's an online sign up if you intend on attending class so they can ensure no more than X number of people will be in any one class. I thought I'd just sign up and attend classes and get thrown into the proverbial deep end of the pool. NOPE! These guys want to keep you safe and have you stop by for a training/orientation class. Then there's a 2 week On Ramp Class that eeducates you on the moves, names, expectations and so forth. Of course, if you've got prior CrossFit experience they move you along but it's nice to come in with a bunch of unexperienced people and learn together so you don't have to get all intimidated by what others know or do. The process of growth is left to your determination and involvement. There's a good mix of girls/guys in my class and in other classes. I tried it out to keep myself busy with domething different so I don't just stop working out completely and guess what... I intend on signing on for a longer period to work on my abs and arms. The weights on the bottom near the boxing ring are mainly free weights,pulley systems, and some machines. All the equipment are pretty close to each other but I didn't mind it. When you first walk-in there are more open racks and a small field to do tire flips or walking lunges etc. the top half is mainly machines and cardio equipment. I was able to use the treadmill and watch some boxing matches which was pretty cool! The men's bathroom/locker room was pretty standard and clean. I went on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't too crowded. I was able to use any machine that I wanted to without waiting. Overall a really cool experience and well taken care of gym.

The gym itself might come across as a little intimidating to those of us who aren't frequent heavy lifters, but once Jenn showed us around, it was much more approachable. She build our workout around everyone's different levels so that everyone felt included and able to get the workout done. We tried machines I would never have tried on my own like the PitShark and the weighted sled. Other members of the club were focused on their workouts, but also super friendly! They have a vending machine of protein shakes and snacks, lots of selfie stations to make videos of your form and personal accomplishments and great music. I really liked that they have a garage door out back that they open when the weather is nice to keep it nice and bright inside as well as getting fresh air in there. I really wish they were closer to me in Milwaukee, but I also appreciate that Jenn does a virtual training plan for me based on my tools at home and skill set. If you need a spot to find your best self and be encouraged and supported to feel like a badass, this is the spot to do it!

Visited Capital Fitness as a drop-in while in Madison for work. This place is awesome; they have…read morenearly all of the equipment you could want, including a TON of squat racks and lifting platforms, they have a reasonable drop-in fee, the locker-rooms are clean and spacious, and they even took me on a tour to show me everything. I'll definitely consider dropping in again the next time I'm in Madison!
