I didn't get to walk around but it looked restful and allows for a nice stroll if one wanted to take a walk. There's a lake in the middle and I saw someone enjoying watching the wind make waves across it. It's a nice rest area off the interstate and not crowded the day we stopped to explore the two memorials. Later found out it's a fishing spot and wheelchair accessible.

Imagine laughing as a young Black Angus cow rushes a group of Sandhill cranes & they scatter. Imagine watching prairie chickens harry a beautiful yellow Western meadowlark. Imagine a sunset that lingers for over an hour, deepening & changing by the minute. I will never forget these amazing tours run by this wonderful company.

We took 2 tours offered by Dusty Trails in North Platte. The first was in the evening into the…read morenight, and the second was mid-morning. Both were designed to view the Sandhill Cranes in their migration from Canada to Texas. The evening tour was disappointing just because it was difficult to see the cranes...it was night! We could hear them "humming", which was very fun. But I didn't head the Tour guidance to dress warmly, and I got very cold. Not their fault, but make sure you are dressed for cold. The Tour the next day was in a bus, which took us to harvested corn fields where we could see thousands of birds on the ground and flying into the fields. The guides were very informative and equally excited to see these birds. I recommend Dusty Trails highly.

Very convenient from I80 with the exception of current construction on main road in. Will say only negative (and not campgrounds fault ) is that the mile of dirt road is full of ruts so go slow! But not a big deal just a fair warning. I would definitely stay here again. Restrooms clean.
