The gym is decent overall. While it doesn't offer a wide variety of training machines or much space, the equipment they do have is functional and in acceptable condition. However, the management leaves much to be desired--access control has been broken for nearly a week, and there's currently no way to enter unless someone happens to be leaving

Before sharing my review, I will disclose that I am NOT a member at Anytime Fitness. I used their 7-day trial pass to test out this location and see if it was a good fit for my fitness needs. Though it's a lovely gym, I decided not to continue with a membership for the reasons outlined below. PROS: - Super friendly staff! They were accessible and didn't cook an attitude when I asked them to demonstrate machines for me (I'm a gym noob, k?). - No crowds or gym bros hogging machines. In fact, no more than 10 people were sharing the gym with me when I went at 12p and 8p. - Super clean space and equipment. You can tell both the staff and patrons make efforts to keep the machines sanitized. - Masks on! I read an intimidating sign that said anyone caught without a mask would be kicked out on the spot. - Tons of cardio hand professional weigh training equipment. CONS: - This place is ex-pen-sive. You have to pay for the key fob, the 24/7 access, and the small group training sessions separately. I won't say outright that it is overpriced because it depends on what your priorities are. If you value intimacy and professional training equipment over packed gyms with standard weight lifting equipment, this gym is for you! Unfortunately, it is not for me because I'd rather use my $$$ for nice clothing and get a more basic gym membership tbh. ‍

Staff is very friendly, they have all the equipment I need and the smoothie bar connected have the best post workout snacks and shakes. Thanks Anytime fitness. You guys rock!!

It is unacceptable to not answer your phones during business hours. The fact that your voicemail indicates that business hours are not until 10:30 AM is one thing, but at least you could answer your phones starting at 10:30 AM. I called on a weekday and apparently you must've been closed and I received a text message from your business asking how you could help. What was the point in sending the text message if you were not going to respond? Absolutely awful business. Can you imagine how many customers you lose without the opportunity to even attempt to sell a membership? LOTS!!!!! You could have the most amazing gym in all of Pasadena, and I wouldn't care because you can't answer your phones or provide any kind of service.

Any chance this could be my go to Anytime Fitness... I've been a member of the gym franchise for several years (mostly working out in the SFV at one of two locations for now...) and recently started to try out other locations when I'm in different areas.... and this is one of my favorites as of recently. The Pasadena AF is still a fairly new location... that said, Anytime Pasadena has an amazing staff... excellent up to date equipment, gender neutral private changing rooms/bathrooms and shower rooms... a fun secure entrance... is easiest to access off the street through the parking lot in back... but you're also able to get through the front entrance shared with neighboring businesses as most places are on Colorado Blvd/Downtown Pasadena Having never been... I opted out on the tour experience and got lost in my workout and the layout instead... Three different levels including the top loft floor devoted to cardio and resistance training... the lowest level... for core, strength building and toning (weight machines) and of course the main floor where the main office resides... the locker/bin area, water fountain(s) and changing/shower/bed rooms. The entire gym is immaculate... the water pressure in the showers was excellent... there was plenty of equipment available... though it was a busy night... and while most AF's don't have any extra amenities like a pool, dry sauna (which I hope they consider adding a standing room sauna for up to 4 to 6 people) or too many classes... they are 24/7 if you're a member and offer little distractions and great trainers... music and fast easy access internet. Even though this location is a journey for me I do hope to get a long workout in here again very soon.... because it's worth it!

Great service from all of the staff here and they have every type of equipment I need from the elliptical to free weights to weight machines! They offer a variety of classes too! This location also does not have signs posted for time limits on machines. Restrooms are all private and most of them have a shower inside. Parking - free street parking(read the signs on time limits) or pay to park in the lot behind Urth cafe. Free wifi I use my Active & Fit benefit for this location after initiating my membership at another location.

Ask the Community - Anytime Fitness

Do you have a hack squat machine?

Unfortunately we do not have a hack squat at this location.

Can you park in the city parking lot for free during specific "off" hours or is it just the back small lot from 2-6am for free?

You can park in this back lot of the gym from 2am-6am and then street parking is available on Madison and green for one hour and two hour street parking, after 6pm there is no time limit on the street parking.

    Is it actually 24hours?

    YES !

Is there a shower ? Also, how packed does it get?

Yes we have 2 showers and 4 bathrooms. Prime time is usually around 10-15 people

Is there a sauna or steam room?

We do not have a sauna or steam room

Do you have deadlift platform? Also trap bar?

No, deadlift platform. But yes, we do have a trap bar!

Does it have a private parking lot? How far is parking from the gym, and how much is it?

There is free street parking and there is also a City lot behind the gym at $1.50 an hour

Do you guys have a pull up bar? gymnastic rings?

Yes we have a pull up bar but no gymnastic rings

How many squat racks/smith machines do you have available at this location?

We have two squat racks and one Smith machine

Is it possible to change the tv channel in both up and downstairs? I'm sure there's plenty of people who enjoy the food network but really? Can we please change it?

YES Absolutely! Also feel free to ask any staff member to change it for you!

Any tips on FREE parking here for early workouts? I like to start at 5am but street parking is forbidden citywide in Pasadena from 2-6am. I don't want to get a ticket!?

Past Green Street on Madison, that street is exempt from the 2-6 time frame!

How much is a membership for group training and what times do they offer the classes?

Their packages vary but they are fair!! And they offer classes all throughout the day and early morning/into the evening.

I think whether it's worth it really depends on how you use it. If you're just using it like a normal gym, it's obviously way overpriced. But if you actually take advantage of the classes and amenities, it is worth it. The floor Pilates classes are free but the reformer classes are extra. The classes are really high quality with good instructors. For me especially because I hate packing stuff and they provide everything you need for all classes. Even for yoga, you don't have to bring anything. You just show up and they have mats, bolsters, blankets, and everything is clean and ready to go. For me personally, I use it as an escape because I can hit the steam room and take a shower sort of like a spa pass. They provide all the bath products too. I'm not a huge fan of the products themselves, they are drying kind of like hotel products,, but at least they're there, so I don't have to think about packing anything. Another thing is that it removed a lot of barriers because they provide towels, which are always clean and fluffy (and I don't have to wash). I can show up in workout clothes with a water bottle and everything else is provided. As with any gym, though, it's not worth it if you don't actually use it. It's also not a huge social scene, which might be a downside for some people but is an upside for me. I can go work out without worrying about having to talk to people or have awkward interactions around equipment. There aren't tons of people taking selfies or clogging up machines and walkways. It also doesn't get super crowded, which I think is partly because of the price point. Those are all huge pluses for me, but I'm on the more introverted side and just trying to work out, not update my social media or make new friends at the gym. I'm basically paying to remove barriers that usually prevent me from going to regular gyms, plus the classes are quality. I don't have to wait for equipment or deal with a bunch of little obstacles that make me less likely to go. They validate parking, which is another big plus. Between the parking, classes, towels, showers, and amenities, there are basically no barriers. The customer service is also really good, I've never had an unpleasant interaction on my way in or out at the front desk, so the whole experience is low stress. I used someone's referral code from here when I joined and got a gift shop credit/didn't have to pay the initiation fee. Everyone I know has been able to join without paying the invitation fee, so don't pay it, they will find a way to waive it because they want your business. I used someone else's link from reddit, but it got taken down. It got the fee waived and I got a credit, so I'm posting my link in case it helps someone else. https://equinox.com/referrals/003A000001TO5GKIA1 Bottom line is it's worth it if it actually gets you to go or you're already paying for classes somewhere else. If you're already paying for yoga classes somewhere else, that's probably close to $100 a month by itself, and you usually don't get all the extra amenities. For me, the biggest value is that it removes barriers and makes it easy and low stress so I don't avoid it. Having everything provided and not having to plan or prepare makes me much more likely to go consistently and yeah, I could save money and go somewhere else, but I wouldn't go, thus my Equinox membership.

WOW! Do not go to this club! BEWARE!…read more I went here as a guest as my girlfriend is(was) a member. She had been going here for about 3 years. I would say a dedicated member. This would be my 3rd time coming as a guest. I wanted to show her how I do my kettlebell workout. I am not a professional trainer. I do not work in the fitness industry. I am just someone who likes to stay in shape and I am not a part of any Gym. My Gf is a personal trainer for a living. We started to work out with kettlebells, and I stood of to the side and helped her. Within 5 minutes a manager comes over and says" you are not allowed to do personal training" I said," what does it need to look like so it will not appear to be personal training. I am not training her." The Manager said" if you work out together, doing the same exercise that's ok" So we complied. For the next 45 minutes that is what we did. When we finally got to our last exercise of working out together. The general Manager, Madison Bin,(Super long fake eyelashes) shows up and in a crowded section to let us know we are still engaged in personal training. I asked her," which exercise can you confirm that personal training was going on?" She could not answer. Only to reply" my trainers saw you" Basically, no one saw us and wanted nothing more than to elevate the situation. After escalating the situation in front of their other members, my GF decided to terminate her membership and ask for a refund on the remaining amount. We walk to the lobby and my GF goes to talk to their senior salesman, Benson Frederick. This idiot proceeds to escalate the situation even more by accusing us right away of training and starts to yell at me right away to get out of his office. No discussion. No understanding. Just yelling "get out"! I do not engage with people when they start yelling and I walk out. He would continue to yell and even spell the word "Out" This is how they treat their guest. And if you come in with your significant other or close partner beware. I guess all the trainers think they are Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible and They will treat you like "Osama Bin Training"

This automatically voids your contract-- and you get charge double--- the full multi-club rate. In only 4 months, they ignored my agreement, charged me the inflated rate every single month- plus hit me with two separate annual fees back to back. Two yearly fees in only four months. When I raised it, staff and management deflected, blamed me, and defended the (hidden and vague) policies without addressing the math. In my opinion, this gym (or the parent company ABC fitness Solutions LLC. ) knows what they are doing with this loophole ---as they lean on reaching into the pockets of a young adult, student demographic that may not catch or care about this.

Love their lower to upper to full body workout schedule, the alternation between cardio and strength, the change/rotation of class layouts, their equipment, and of course, the instructors and team themselves. Special appreciation for the 9am goers because they became a solid community for me when I was going through some post-grad life transitions and turbulence. Somehow, when I was considering what to properly invest in while sacrificing to save money from other things, this was a good alternative investment that has sparked back some love for workout classes again. Well-deserved shout outs to Coaches Nick, Jacqueline, and Oliver and the front desk team. If you're looking for a motivating space, it's a good place for a comeback and a fresh start. You can go at your own pace as well so don't feel the need to push over the limit. The atmosphere of pushing yourself with others is super motivating and it was all around a great experience. - protein smoothie bars available -bathrooms + lockerrooms (showers) available -lots of lot parking

Super fun and amazing workout!!!…read more 1/2 the time is treadmill running. Instructor would tell you to pick up the running speed to 6,7, or 8 but if you can't run like me. I would run as much as I can and then slow it to a jog or speed walk. Go by your own pace. 1/2 time is weights with different exercises. Dumbbells are located against to the walls on the right and left side of the room. The heavier ones are on the left side of the room. Lighter weights are on the right side of the room. We would swap back and forth. From running on treadmill to weight workouts. Instructor would be on his mic and telling us the exercise. Ambiance in the room is really dark but with red lights. Pretty cool to work out in. The gym offers towels for when you sweat. We had a live DJ in the room on the Sunday!! That was pretty cool! Check in early because I had to fill out a form on their computer. There are lockers to put belongings on the right side on the first floor. I like that between classes, there is someone cleaning the equipments and mopping the floor. Upstairs is are more lockers but it's only woman's locker only. There are 3 shower rooms. I love that especially if you're sweating you can just shower and be nice and clean. This gym offers so many amenities like big towels for after showering, body soap, shampoo, and conditioner, face wash, hair dryer, deodorant, q-tip, body lotion, etc. There are metered-street parking. 1 hour parking 9am-6pm except Sunday's. Sundays are free parking, which I didn't know until I got there and was grateful for that so I didn't have to pay. I don't know if there is free parking behind the building or anywhere else. That would be a bit expensive if you're going to this gym every day. There is a restroom upstairs.

My last night session did that and some much more. I love how you can go on your own pace, and it's suitable if you do have some injuries. It is a really good 55 min workout with high intensity! You will feel so good afterwards!! I had the pleasure of having Bryan for my instructor who was phenomenal!! He is co-owner and super cool. He helped me out before we started and showed me the things we would do for the night!! They even welcomed me with having my name on paper where I can post it in class to be acknowledged. Also, the Music was amazingggg it made the workout fun!! I had a blast!! It's very clean inside and you clean off the apparatus every station change. It's very cute inside and quaint. It's dark but I love that it's dark! It's not intimidating whatsoever and they motivate you!! Customer service was exceptional and very nice!! I signed up for more classes and I am very excited!! Try Bunda you will not regret it!! Good for everyone!! When it's completed they give you a nice cold towel that feels very good! The parking can be bad since it's located in downtown Pasadena. Just arrive a lil earlier if you can. -Marshay D.

Needed to come to Yelp to sing the praises of Bunda Pasadena because this is the BEST customer…read moreservice I have received in at least a decade.... I stopped into today to update my card info after a fraud problem caused me to get a new debit account. While I was there I asked trainer Callie what the 'pause account' policies were. I had signed up as a founding member, but had only managed to attend one class due to an illness then injury. Being a 'founding member' carried enough value that it made more sense to keep it active even if I could not attend. It was my OWN fault I never asked earlier, as I never expected to be out of the training game as long as I was. Callie listened attentively, helped me sign up for the next week under HER name because my account was effectively paused- then said as soon as her manager was available, she would call and see if there was 'something they could do' to credit me for my lost training time. Graciella (hope I'm spelling everyone's name correctly!) called me about 20 minutes later, and graciously (true to the name ;) offered to credit me for THE ENTIRE TIME I MISSED OUT ON!!!! I was so overwhelmed I almost didn't know what to say..... obviously it was very clear I have been paying for months for a service I wasn't able to take advantage of, but this level of generosity is unheard of today! In this age of bots, endless customer service wait times, submitted forms that never get a response, and generally broken promises from merchants, to have a business tell you they would reach out to help, then deliver on that promise in under an hour feels almost like magic. It just never happens anymore, and EVERYONE should know. Particularly in an environment where a person trying to improve and change, that level of support, that feeling of 'I understand- and I GOT YOU'..... you just can't put a price tag on that. These women and this location will have my loyalty forever, I am so grateful. THANK YOU LADIES!!!! PS: I know this review had nothing to do with the workout itself, but the one class I did before I had to take a break totally kicked my ass & I loved it! It's why I kept my account active so long in hopes of returning at least 3 days a week, it's exactly the type of hype & grind I was looking for. Really looking forward to more!

I joined Rose City Barbell several months ago after hearing great things from friends and…read moreteammates, and it has been exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a gym where I could focus on strength training as its own discipline rather than blending it into a CrossFit or Hyrox-style workout. Just as importantly, I wanted consistent coaching and feedback so I could continue improving. I've tried classes at several other gyms in the area, but Rose City Barbell aligns perfectly with my current goals: learning proper strength movements, understanding progressive overload, and following thoughtful, well-structured programming. The coaching emphasizes building a strong foundation, proper technique, and sustainable progress. I never leave feeling beaten up or wondering how to get stronger--I leave knowing exactly what I'm working toward. As someone who is only five months removed from a major abdominal surgery, I'm especially grateful to have found this community. The coaches have helped me rebuild my strength safely and confidently. My favorite coaches are Kim and Sionann. Kim has an incredible eye for technique and always knows when to challenge me. She's the coach who points to the heavier dumbbells and says, "You can totally do that," when I would never have considered picking them up myself. Time and again, she's been right. Her attention to detail is exceptional, from movement cues to recommending the right footwear (or no footwear) for specific lifts. Sionann is equally skilled when it comes to coaching technique and providing effective cues. She has a gift for encouraging people to give their best effort, even on the mornings when they'd rather coast through the workout. She somehow manages to bring energy, positivity, and fun to every class--even at 6 a.m. Her encouragement helps everyone move better, work harder, and leave feeling accomplished. If you're looking for a gym that prioritizes strength, excellent coaching, and long-term progress, I can't recommend Rose City Barbell highly enough.

Just thoughtful programming, sharp feedback, and the right kind of pressure to grow. She knows how to meet me where I am and still expect more. What really sets her apart is how well she reads personality. She gives structure when I need it, honesty when I need it, and space to be vulnerable without making it weird. I've been able to talk openly about what feels hard, physically and mentally, and she responds with strategy, not fluff. I'm stronger, yes. But more importantly, I feel more capable in my body. And we make it fun!!! If you want smart coaching that respects your brain as much as your muscles, she's it.

I heavily considered not leaving a review because I feared criticism from the trainer, but I felt…read moreso bad after our trial session that I felt the need to say something. Our session was good, but I needed time to deliberate before moving forward - it was a bit commitment and I needed some time to reflect. The trainer got incredibly heated, first going on about how great his services were compared to everyone else and then shaming me for not committing on the spot and wasting his time. I let the trainer know that I am unemployed and rely on my parents for financial support, so I needed to deliberate with them before proceeding further. I felt belittled for communicating my needs, and received harsh criticism from the trainer about being "a waste of time." It should be noted that on the website, the first session is advertised as a "no obligation free workout." But the session took place in a paid gym. He paid for the day pass, which I was very grateful for, but upon completion, I refunded the money back. Still, I continued to receive verbal abuse from the trainer post session (see screenshot below) Final thoughts: don't offer no-commitment complimentary sessions on your website if you're gonna accuse people of wasting your time and shame clients. UPDATE: I've continued to be harassed by the trainer. Completely unprofessional.
