After about 3 years of going to this gym the craziest thing happened to me. I know it's going to sound paranoid but hear me out. Most of my interactions with this place have been pretty benign. I'd go in twice a week to get in a strength session or cardio. Of course, the second they put up that blue lives matter flag up gave me significant pause. Seems like an odd move for a gym in a working class neighborhood. I thought seriously about canceling my membership over that but didn't because I liked the routine I had got into over the years. I thought it would be too difficult to quit the gym etc etc so I procrastinated. After a workout I got approached by someone while I was buying something from the vending machine. A guy I had never seen before asked for my phone number. Seemed pleasant enough so I stupidly gave him my number. I may have made a comment about it being a cop gym (which if that bothered the guy get real). Some time later and he tries to add me to Snapchat, which I have but actually never use (too many ads). Since I don't add anyone to that if I don't know them I denied the request and moved on. He texted me later and through a series of messages I learned that he works at the gym. I questioned why he approached me a little, as one does. He mentioned Snapchat and I said I don't use it. Anyone with a lick of sense knows that Snapchat is not used for wholesome purposes. I said yeah, I have a profile but I never open the app. He said something like 'Well, you better open it for me' to which I immediately said no. I can only imagine he didn't take that very well because he stopped texting. I think he also got me locked out of the gym. It's kinda comical of you think about it. I was already on the fence about the place and then this happens. Now, the person who runs the place is claiming I'm locked out for what he referred to as "tailgating". The last time I went to work out was November 26. I had already been locked out. It was also the ONLY TIME anyone ever let me in because my pass wasn't working. How convenient for them, right? Do I regret not canceling myself and letting it get to this point? Kinda. Do I care enough to do anything beyond writing this out? Honestly, no. They did me a favor in the long run. I can't prove that I'm being retaliated against but I can warn other people that something is fishy. I know it sounds extremely paranoid to come to the conclusion I have. The series of events just make no sense. In any case this is a very good time for me to move on. P.S If a rando hits on you at this place be cautious. read more

Rare to find things put away, cleanliness is non existent, signs up everywhere stating you will be kick out if you don't abide by the rules but that doesn't seem to be enforced. I could go on about the conditions.... doesn't seem to have any of our cleaning fees going back in to the place AT ALL. Trying to cancel my membership..... ha! You must talk with Jeremy to get that done. Went by 3 times today and he was not there. No sign as to why or when he'd be back......his office hours are 10-7 on his door but online says 9am. I've also been getting cold more frequently since starting here. Full convinced it's the lack of cleaning and sanitation.... This used to be the best place for workouts and powerlifing ! read more

It's awful. Dirty, rundown. Gross. Equipment is broken, obviously not maintained. We were visiting from out of town and we have a membership elsewhere and we're totally disappointed. Seats on all equipment need to be replaced. Place needs painting and cleaning and someone who actually cares. read more

Elite Yelp member and frequent AF user (reviews for MANY AF's, including the Westside Santa Fe location). This is a fantastic facility. Much better parking than Westside, very spacious, great selection of cardio machines (all with personal TV) and plenty of free weights. This place/ company is the absolutely the worst. 1st. Half of their machines are always out of service. 2nd. They down sized making the work out space even smaller 3rd. They upcharged their monthly fee for what? A smaller workout area and machines that are always broken? I get that might.. key word MIGHT help fix the machines but I doubt it... Their prices are very similar to Define fitness yet again majority of their equipment is broken and the space is smaller. 4th and the most irritating. If you try to cancel your membership.. no one is ever there! You try and call no one ever answers. You email them they never answer back. I have made numerous attempts at canceling and ABC fitness solutions has even tried to get in touch with them to no success. Because I could NEVER get in touch with someone there in person I kept getting calls from a debt collector so let's hope I'm finally done with this horrible company once and for all. Terrible. Moved to California in November and tried calling to cancel my membership since it states in the contract that I will be able to without any charges if I move a certain distance. The lady didn't know what I was talking about and transferred to another line that didn't pick up. I kept trying multiple times after to still cancel it. My card had been getting charged $30 at least twice a week. No one was answering emails or calls, no one is ever in the office. I finally got a hold of someone who returned my emails and said they changed ownership and to cancel I'd have to send a written letter from The post office to their location stating I'd like to cancel. They finally received my letter which was signed, dated, and stating I'd like my account canceled. Yet they tell me it doesn't have a "certified mail" stamp on the mail, so it's valid. This is already a ridiculous hassle as it is. They wouldn't let me cancel over the phone, over email, or on the app. It's 2023, I shouldn't have to write a letter to cancel a gym membership. My account has gone into negative and I've lost too much money over the last 8 months for no reason. 0/10 do not recommend. read more

Love this place! I'm on a cross country road trip and dropped in for a morning workout. I was greeted by the general manager, Rayann. She was super friendly and helpful. The gym will accomodate any kind of workout you want -- heavy weights, machines, lots of cardio and even a heavy bag. The facility was well lit and clean, even the bathroom and shower. Unlike many gyms, the equipment is arranged in a way that you never feel cramped or crowded. Strongly recommend. read more

First of all, they sold me a 2 year contract under the guise of a 1 year contract. Partially my fault for not looking at it closer, but I took for granted that they were being honest with me. So there's that... There's limited equipment as it is, but half the time the equipment is out of order for repairs for extended periods of time. Why am I being charged a "maintenance fee" if they're not actually going to keep up with maintenance? Staff isn't very helpful, they're just there to collect their checks. Sad. Unlike the McMahon location in Albuquerque (which is spotless), this location is gross. I have been here four times and each time it's extremely unclean. The paper towels are ALWAYS out, the bathrooms are always overflowing with trash (see photo) and there are no sanitary wipes. The equipment is not maintained. The treadmills all have that gritty sandy feeling when you use them. Finally, the A/C does not work and it's very uncomfortable and stuffy. They don't man this location which really shows. Good lord somebody buy this from the owner asap. This place is nasty. Probably the nastiest AF I've been in. Reminds of a city gym you'd find in Honduras or ymca in a poor city not Santa Fe. As she-she, expensive and touristy as Santa Fe is you'd think this place would be way better. The equipment is easily 20 years old and most machines have nasty worn out upholstery. Like I said somebody save this place. You'll have to definitely gut it out. I travel to lots of states and this sorry to say is the worst location. I started working out here during the winter when it was too cold to run outside. The facilities were generally clean and functional, though occasionally the cleaning supplies were empty. *Be careful when cancelling*. They have it set up so that even after you cancel you still have to pay another months worth of membership fees. A little dirty corporate trick that leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I'm sure they have it in the fine print somewhere, but that doesn't change the predatory sensation I get from that policy. Update: They use hidden fees to extract as much money out of you as they can. There are plenty of other great gyms in Santa Fe. Don't go to this one. Celina also seems to only respond when a cancellation is involved. Any other messages I've sent to that email address have gone completely ignored. read more

This is a great AF location. It is my go-to when I am in town. It is big and has plenty of equipment, so no waiting or bumping into people as you get your workout in. Lots of cardio equipment too. The staff are always so friendly. read more

This gym has the potential to be nice. But it just isn't due to the lack of cleanliness, supplies and wear and tear on all of the equipment. The studio floor is filthy and is covered in dust and (potentially) dog hair. Not sure if they have a cleaning crew but management must do better. All of the equipment is also outdated. The customer service for this gym is terrible. The manager is nice when she is actually there. I tried for over two weeks to set-up a membership. I work a busy travel type job and it is hard for me to go during the 8-5 M-F workday. She closed the office early every single day for two weeks before finally posting new hours. The hours are 9-1 and 3-5 M-Th and 9-2 Fri, when am I supposed to get a membership??? I was finally able to go on Fri at 9 am and guess what? She wasn't there, I waited until 9:20 and she still never showed. Oh and she does not return phone calls - so don't bother leaving a message. The facilities are fine and its usually not crowded (experience from my guest pass only). But try and get a membership there and you will find nothing but locked office doors. I only have one other Anytime Fitness club to compare this one to, but my home club has much higher standards. This club had worn equipment, the overhead duct work was covered in a thick layer of dust. The video monitor did not work on the treadmill I used , and there was something disgusting in the bottom of the cup holder. There were no workout bands anywhere to be found. In general the club is in need of a good cleaning and some updated equipment. read more

Overpriced, cramped, humid, and just a poor choice.. The only thing this place has got going for them is their whole open 24 hours thing. But who in god's name actually goes to the gym at 3am? Does this REALLY benefit you? The customer service is pretty poor here. No one answers the phone and the two at the front seem to like to make up rules whenever they feel like it. I asked about the phone thing and she just ignored me. Don't even try to get a 2 week pass because after the first visit or so you'll realize this place sucks. There are barely any free weights unless you're on steroids and want to do bicep curls with 100pd weights. And maybe I just didn't look carefully enough (but tbh, there's not much to look at in this tiny space), there's no water fountain?? Not even a designated locker room, just a unisex bathroom for you to change in? This place is lame. read more

Not much of a facility to begin with (no real strength equipment or decent weights or racks). Worse still are the unusual staffed hours that do not correspond to the hours listed online. Moreover I was kept waiting for a significant period of time when I went to try and sign up (upwards of 20 minutes). The options for short term (month long contracts) are particularly abysmal; the gym is clearly looking to finagle customers into long term contracts. I like working out here. To the person below wanting to know who works out at 3am? Those that work nights work out at 3am. I've tried mutiple gyms in Santa Fe, and am happiest with this one. This is the only gym in Santa Fe that is 24 hours. I feel comfortable working out here, with good temperature. The machines are all kept in good working condition- minus the bikes. Avoid the bikes at all costs. They all skip badly, no matter how often you report to the staff. Your knees will thank you. The classes are great. As far as cleanliness- they need to do a better job. People leave their crap all over the gym all the time. I've seen water bottles sit in the same location for DAYS on end. I've seen the cleaning staff work- and they sure don't pick up the discarded towels, water bottles, etc. The hired staff certainly doesn't pick up this stuff either. read more

I wish they had a daycare though...I wish ANY gym had a daycare and I'd join them immediately, but since it's difficult for me now to do anything with a one year old I can't come to the gym anymore. When I did come, it was convenient to work out at any hour of the day....I feel this gym in particular can get a bit crowded at times, but that's a sign of a great place that people love to workout at. The equipment seems to get fixed fairly quickly...but always cleaned. I see the staff take care of their customers, and everyone looks generally content in all their sweaty glory. When they get someone to watch the little ones (I'd pay extra for that, hint hint) then I shall return! read more

If you like to work out at off hours this place might work. On the other hand, if you work out traditional times, join only if you don't shower at the gym. They don't have traditional locker rooms. Instead three individual bathrooms have showers. But one is on a tank water heater, so if you're not the first or second person in there, I hope you enjoy a cold shower. So there are only two functional showers. I work out in the morning, and often have to wait for a shower, and it's not uncommon for me to be late because of the shower line. Repeated complaints to the staff and owner have had no affect. I agree with writer below, cleanliness in the bathrooms could be better. They don't seem to do routine self-inspections. I have seen light bulbs out for up to a week, not replaced unless someone complains. I have requested them to fix the door stops on the bathroom doors so they can air out, but that never got done. In fact, only about half the repairs I complain about get fixed. They don't have staff on site until 9am, which is of no help to us morning members. I went into one bathroom to shower the other day and found an absolute mess of dried mud that came off the boots of the guy who just left. They don't have paper towels, there was no staff to clean it up. I had to use the little wipes they provide to wipe down the equipment, get on my hands and knees and clean up the mess. Just to take a shower, as the other one was busy. Three times this past year their automatic doors wouldn't work in the morning. Again, no staff to let one in. read more

My wife and I just joined and are thrilled with the facility. It has a decent choice of machines and a really good free weight room. It's open 24/7. Each visit this past week has been just fine, not waiting for any machines. It's for the more serious, not to much floor time having to listen to people talk and take up machine time as a social gathering. so I registered for a 7 day pass on there website to check the place out and the lady Vilma at the front desk refused to honor it. requiring me to pay for a day pass. which was hardly worth it, the gym is small and busy and I couldn't even barely get the chance to use the machines I wanted. stay away from this place guys, and dont be fooled by the free pass ads because they are likely going to charge you at the door. also, this place advertises 24 hr srvc but I couldn't get a person until 10 in the morning. pathetic read more

Not sure why this gym is getting so much hate on Yelp. I used it for a couple weeks while staying in Santa Fe for work. Facility was clean. Equipment was in good shape. Good amount of weightlifting equipment (including squat racks, lots of machines, and lots of free weights). Staff I talked to was friendly. I primarily used it late in the evening (9pm), and while there were other people in there, it was never terribly crowded. My only complaints are: (1) it is very hard to get anyone to answer the phone. Not sure if that was due to some of the construction going on inside or what, but no matter what time I called I couldn't get anyone to pickup. (2) I couldn't find a single jump rope in the place. Lots of resistance bands, handles, and battle ropes, but no jump ropes that I could find. All in all though, a nice facility. read more

I go to this gym because it feels safe and it's close to my house. Unfortunately it's is very very dirty. There is dust everywhere, the machines are dusty and grimy and need a good washing. The bathrooms are gross and badly need redoing or at least repainting. Right now of 5 ellipticals, one is broken and on 2 others the TV does not work. read more

I like this gym for the most part but I do have to agree with other reviews that it gets extremely packed at times. My BIGGEST complaint though is the classroom. It is fairly small with no cap on how many people can join a class. It also has NO air. The place is like an oven! 4 fans dont cut it. Invest in an air conditioner!!! Also, almost all the time one speaker is blown out. They need to upgrade the music system. They charge ten dollars a class (for non members) the least they can do is use this money towards something. Do. Not. Join!!! While using a 7 day pass, I was asked to leave because my midriff was exposed. Apparently, the owner has a dress-code policy of no bare midriffs. I wasn't provided any documentation of said policy, nor is there anything posted around the gym. When I asked to see something in writing, an employee told me they don't have anything. Because I didn't have anything acceptable to put on to cover my midriff, I was told to leave. I asked to speak to the owner, but was told he wasn't there. He watches from a camera in another state. I worked in gyms for over 20 years as a trainer and instructor. I'm well aware that dress codes exist, but members need to know exactly what that policy is. I feel I was arbitrarily targeted, not to mention embarrassed and humiliated. This location is the most convenient, but I ended joining the one on Airport Rd. So not cool. After countless attempts to speak to the owner, including many calls to Corporate, I've heard nothing. Tell everyone you know- this gym blows hard!!! read more

The most poorly run gym I've ever been a member of. Dirty, torn carpets, uncaring and unsupervised staff. they left for the holiday weekend (no one on staff on holidays and weekends), turned off the heat , didn't replace the empty hand sanitizer. It was 26 degrees outside and no heat inside. On top of it, cold air (55 degrees) was blowing on the members. It is typical to not have wet hand wipes to clean the machines, for days at a time, no soap in a bathroom for 5 days in a row, broken equipment. I've been a member for 3 years and am looking for a new place. Most of the tv's on the equipment don't work, and have not worked since I joined 3 years ago. The few that do work, often don't have sound, or you cannot change the channels. Equipment is never cleaned and sanitized. The owner has a sweet deal with all the major health care insurance companies, so there's no excuse not to pay for, and supervise, a competent staff. Many of the members are fed up, and realize there's no point in bringing issues to the uncaring staff, who spend their time either taking money from new members, or looking into their smart phones. Not one of them walks around and takes notice of what isn't working. Update... Today is New year's eve. Each of the 5 wall wet-towel containers is empty. The two "workers" left for the holiday weekend and didn't bother filling any of the containers. The woman who "works" there, showed up in the morning, was in the office with the door closed. A few people tried knocking on the office door to get her attention, which she ignored. The machines are sticky and disgusting, no way to clean them before, or after use. Shame on the owner for not keeping the place in good working order. 'Planet Fitness' has opened in Santa Fe. There are tons of defectors from Anytime Fitness there now. The "manager" and her assistant were seen there today spying, posing to the staff of Planet Fitness as potential members. They must be bewildered so many of their members have fled. Nice try. Planet Fitness is a clean, huge gym, filled with new and well working machines. The staff are attentive, the temperature is perfect, everything works. And how is $10.00 a month sound? read more

I have been coming to this gym for over three years and am fed up with it. The equipment in this gym for an Anytime Fitness is top notch. Being able to use any Anytime fitness in the US is a big bonus, as I travel a lot. Now the negatives, first off not sure how often they clean the gym, but for three days in a row the toilet in one of the bathrooms was over flowing and never got cleaned or fixed for three days. This is just one example of the lack of cleaning that takes place here. The front staff people do not seem overly friendly once they have you signed up. The trainers act like the gym belongs to them and do not care about you, unless they are training you. They will place water bottles and clip boards on benches and leave them there for 15-30 minutes and never use the benches. They rarely put equipment away after they are finished with it and I have never seen them clean the equipment after use. One of the trainers decided to use a sound dock for his iPod and blast the music through out the whole free weight area, even though there is music playing through out the speakers. I have complained to the front desk with no response and to the owner via email. The owner responded about two months later and said he would address the issues with the trainers. I have yet to see a change. Also this is the only gym I have been to that does not display who the trainers are certified through, my guess is this might have something to do with the way they operate. This gym is also extremely busy during peak times, preventing me from coming Anytime I want, as I can't get the equipment I want without long waits. read more

The service at this gym is terrible. I tried to cancel my membership for the summer and since the staff has limited hours - they're only there during the day, same as my work schedule - I called to cancel over the phone. I was told that I had to come in to cancel in person, and since I didn't give them 30 days notice (missed it by a few days) they had to charge me for another month. Fine, I was charged another month and didn't use it, went into the gym to cancel, and they said they would have to also charge for ANOTHER MONTH to process the cancellation. They also said I could've done it over email, but the person I had spoken to on the phone very conveniently didn't mention that at the time. So they've gotten an extra TWO months of membership fees for someone who isn't even going to their gym. I called again to see if there was anything they could do to reimburse me and was told "well, we were going to charge you an extra annual fee in July but we decided to wave that since you were canceling" - I had NEVER even been told about this fee - it would've been a complete surprise charge on my account. Bottom Line: they're sucking all the money they can out of you for a very mediocre gym experience. There are MUCH better gyms in Santa Fe for not much more money, with a more pleasant, accommodating staff, and NO surprise fees. read more

I have always loved this gym until recently..... the owner seems to not care about the technology in our classes. Zumba, Spin, and kickboxing have been difficult because we can barely hear our music. its a shame when our instructors are having to bring their own little speakers in order to run the class. Annoying how no one ever answers the phone there, would have avoided being charged 2-3 months worth ($94-$151) if they would have answered since I wasn't going anymore since I had moved and my contract had ended. Which no one told me that once the year you signed up for ends, you're still going to be charged unless you cancel, which I suspected since I kept getting charged but wasn't too sure when I had exactly signed up so I continuously tried to call every once in awhile for 3 months and it finally took me calling 8x in a row for them to finally answer and tell me all this. Actual gym aspects were fine, for the price though, not really. Planet fitness doesn't have much (besides the cooler things like the massage beds) when it comes to weights and stuff but for the $10 a month that sounds right. $47 a month for a gym, I'd expect more than what Anytime fitness had, like an actual helpful staff who could answer a phone. read more

I have never been part of a facility that has such a childish, unprofessional, and immature staff. The day that I went to sign up I had to wait nearly 10 minutes for one of the women at the front desk to finish the casual conversation she was having with another member across the gym. When she finally finished the conversation it seemed to me like I was wasting her time and I almost didn't even sign up. Later, after I had been a member for a few weeks I was appalled to hear the way that they speak about the members of the gym. They have several "colorful" nicknames for the patrons and many are very hurtful. To make it worse they rather loudly say these nicknames so there is a very good chance that one of the members would be able to hear them. I've also noticed that they pick and choose which issues to tell the ownership about. It took ages for the lack of air conditioning to be even acknowledged let alone fixed, it takes weeks or even months for machines to be repaired, and most of the equipment such as weights and yoga mats are in such a state of disrepair that they are practically unusable. Don't waste your time with this gym, it's not worth your money. read more
